Yakuza $39.99 at best buy ($35 with gamer's gift card)

not as good as the Shenmue series... part 2 is already out in Japan. If anyone is looking I got an excellention condition one for trade
 
I wish part 2 would come out here....

But yeah, it's a good game...it really should have been released at $40 though IMO.
 
I thought it would be $20 by now. I liked the demo so I'll probably pick this up just to support the chances of the second one coming out over here.
 
I hear it's Shenmue done 'properly.' I recalled Shenmue showing up on some game site's worst games of all-time list.

The game only sold 23,000 copies. Lots of people in US doesn't even know this game exist! :lol: But hey this even sold more copies in the UK.

The camera angle is also kinda bad.. if your comparing the combat system and story to shenmue, this game bombs in both parts IMO! Also there is no replay value anywhere no new game + or anyting your pretty much done once you beat it. I clocked in about 20 hrs. If only they had a japanese voice over option for this game I found it annoying how the Japanese say f*@$ in almost every sentence in this game.

That's pretty terrible...I hope it doesn't ruin the chances for a US release of Yakuza 2
 
You could also use the coupon from this month's GamePro to get $10 off. Same applies to Suikoden V which is the same price (if you can find it).

It's not really like Shenmue at all, except that they're both adventure games.

And Shenmue II (with the Japanese voices) is a billion times better.
