Nothing terribly exciting this week.

$25 - N64 (extra atomic purple controller edition) in box with Zelda Majora's Mask gold cart (box and manual) and Mario Kart 64 (cart only). Not a spectacular deal, but I've wanted MM and Mario Kart so I was happy with it

Another guy had a Dreamcast labeled as "System and 50+ games $100!" I asked him to see the games and he said, "Did I mention they are burned games?" No thanks.

My best finds were non-video gaming items

$1 - massive box of legos. Must be 20 pounds of the blocks with I'm not sure how many figures mixed in.
$7 - 14 Beatles vinyl records. These are worth some money. Numbered White Album, Abbey Road, Rubber Soul, etc.
$0.50 - Deluxe Edition Scrabble (the one with the rotating board)

At one house a lady had a Genesis labeled "$10 with games". But only one game was sitting by the system. I asked her and she said that was the only one, but she had a NES with more games earlier that sold. If that was also $10, somebody got a great deal.

So how much was the box of legos originally? Did you have to chew them down?

I don't know if I would be good at yardsales, because i'd feel guilty by telling someone "I'll give you 50 cents for that giant box of Legos". Like I was insulting them or something, but I guess it works!

Gimmie tips!

Not really. Sealed ones are worth a fortune. They printed so many of those records. Still a good deal!!!

Actually numbered white albums go for about $40 on eBay.

I got the legos at a church rummage sale. It was $0.10 - $2.00 per toy, $0.50 per normal item. I went up and asked the guy if it counted as one toy/item and he said "How about $1?" Sold!

It's a big moving box with a trash bag filled with legos inside it. I imagine it's made up of a bunch of different lego sets. There are a few instructions from 4 or so different sets, but it's definitely made up of more than just those sets. (Dividing it back up into the original sets would probably take a lifetime of sorting.) I'm not sure how much they would have paid originally for them, probably a few hundred. Legos are freaking expensive.

It does depend on the condition, though. They look pretty good to me, but I'm not an audiophile and actually don't even have a working turntable to try them out and see if they pop or hiss badly. I pulled out my old player yesterday, but it is hosed.

Once again, wubb, you find some cool items at the local yard sale.

You're inspiring me to go look at the local paper and see what I can find this coming weekend.

Considering what I know little kids do with legos, I'd wash them before you used them. A tub filled with a fair amount of lysol should do the job.

what all beatles albums did you get?

I am trying to convince my mom to get another record player so I can pick a few albums up (in particular Sgt. Pepper)

All Majora's Mask cartridges are gold aren't they? I know that only pre-ordered Ocarina's were, but I thought that pre-ordered Majora's had the hologram thing.

I love Legos!

Nice find on the Beatles albums, especially the White Album! I have one, but I don't know if it is numbered or not...I'll hafta check.

JSweeney - :)

evilmax - North VA. Church rummage sales are a fantastic source for cheapass deals. They generally just throw everything out a standard price.

Casey - Let It Be, Rubber Soul, Sgt. Peppers, Hey Jude, , 67-70, 62-66 (2 copies), Abbey Road, Help!, Magical Mystery Tour, Yesterday and Today, White Album (numbered), '65, Beatles VI

Tromack - Yeah, I didn't know if they weren't all gold or not. Mine has the hologram, too. Is that only on some of them? It's pretty cool.

moiety - Numbered ones have a number stamped to the front. Mine is number 0042086, which I guess means it was the 42,086th white album to be pressed? Pretty cool.

dont have a turn table, did you buy those just to sell them, for shame, i would never sell my beatles records

Well, like I said I pulled out my old turntable hoping to give them a spin, but it was jacked up. So now I have to add a turntable to the list of stuff I'm looking out for at yard sales :)

Ultimately I probably will end up selling them. The only problem will be figuring out how to ship them (unless I sell them or trade them in somewhere local) I found a place you can order 10 record shipper boxes for $19. Kind of pricey. I'm also thinking about possibly getting those record frames and hanging them on the wall. But I doubt I'll go that route.

I use Priority Mail Boxes. Just be sure to stuff it with Newpaper or osmething so the records don't slide out. I shipped some LD this way. You can fit a few in each box....or just keep the box FLAT and be sure to tape it up good. I know Priority cost a little more to ship, but at least the boxes are free.
