I hate all of these rumors, but I thought I would post them for all of the rumor whores. By the way these are from nintendogossip.com. I call bullshit on some but the others could be realistic.

- According to Moz La Punk the sensor bar for Wii will have changed a lot since E3. Most likely we will see the result of an improved sensor bar at this year’s Space World.

- Wii will support a HD-DVD format. Nobody knows how Nintendo would do this.
(I call bullshit on this one)

- Connect 24 and the Virtual Console will both be demonstrated during Space World.

- Thirteen new titles for Wii will be presented at Space World. Three of these games will get the adult rating and one of these games is created by Shigeru Miyamoto.
(I think they mean M rated, no way would Nintendo commit suicide by creating AO games)

- Heroes, a game that Suda 51 and Takashi Mike are working on, will be based on the movie Ichi the Killer.

- Excite Truck will feature gameplay elements that we can already experience in the Burnout games.
(I think thats obvious from the videos)

- We will see loads of new footage of Ubisoft’s Red Steel during Space World. The sword fights will look a lot better in this demo.

- Resident Evil 4: Ultimate Edition will appear with loads of extras.
(I could see this happening seeing as Capcom really, really loves to rehash games over and over again.)

- Resident Evil 5 for PlayStation 3 and the Wii version will come out on the same day.
(possible)

- In 2009 Wii will get an exclusive Resident Evil game.

- Hideo Kojima is working on Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the Patriots for Wii.
(he has shown interest in the wii)

- All Metal Gear Solid games that have been made will be available on the Virtual Console.
( I can believe the nes ones but the PSX one as well?)

- There will appear two bundles on the release of Wii. The first bundle will cost $299,99 and will contain two controllers with nunchuck, a classic gamepad, a DVD 9 attachement, a wireless headset, a 2 GB SD card, the game Wii sports and ten Virtual Console downloads. The second bundle will cost $199,99 and will contain one Wii controller with nunchuck, a classci gamepad, the game Wii Sports and five Virtual Console Downloads.
(I would so buy the $300 one if it came with all of that.)

- The AI processor in the Wii carries the codename RID: Reactionary, Instinctual Domino AI.

- Graphics and physics on Wii will be very realistic on Wii.
(It had some pretty good physics in the red steel trailer)

- Developers won’t have to spend a lot of time in the graphic design. Thanks to the processor they will have more time to focus on gameplay and the storyline of the game.

- Wii won’t contain CPU and other chips but it will contain bridgets developed by ATI and IBM.

- Wii won’t produce a lot of heat.

- The Artifical Inteligence in Wii games will be very good.

- Space World 2006 will take place August 2006.

- There are two reasons why Nintendo wanted to organise Space World. The first reason is that they wanted to have a game event for Nintendo only. The second reason is that they want to create a hype close to the launch day.

Exclusive Resident Evil game... lol yea right. Maybe exclusive for 6 months to a year, but this is Capcom we're talking about.

I also call BS on the Metal Gear Solid games being available on the VC because I'm 100% certain the VC won't include Playstation.

I'm gonna call BS on MGS 4 on the Wii as well.. I think they would port it to 360, but Kojima has already said he dosen't like to waste resources porting games.

The Wii would be awesome if those bundles were true, though.

RE4 Ultimate? Thank God. I like my Cube version, but I want the extras from the PS2 version without sacrificing graphics... looks like all will be set right in the world.

Edit: Oh, and it'd be sweet if the Wii really did get AO games... dating sims FTW.

Some of those are passable, some are things I could have come up with on the toilet. Because clearly Capcom knows what they are going to put out in 2009.

these are allegedly from the next issue of Game Informer

This article from the upcoming Game Informer magazine focuses on the pros and cons of the development environment of the upcoming Nintendo Wii. As well as revealing the last big secret concerning hardware functionality. Here are some summarizations from that article.

-Pros-

-Inexpensive graphics development.

-Developer-friendly “camera” program

-Will support HDR lighting, normal maps, bump-mapping, nurbs rendering, and panoramically-composted depth-composited cubemappng, ray-tracing.

-Chipsets are very inexpensive although EXTREMELY powerful, WILL incorporate many aspects of the Project Reality study.

-Nintendo is providing extensive documentation to ease the incorporation of the Wii-mote.

-Cons-

-Challenging to program effectively for the Wii-mote, due to it being very new to the industry.

-Marketing to be more challenging for bigger third-party franchises due to nature of the innovative qualities.

-The development cycle to possibly equal the time cycles of PS3 and Xbox360 due to the time needed to be innovative and effectively program for the controller.

-The challenge of marketing the Wii’s controller in ads and commercial may turn third-parties away from exclusivity. (The challenge to display through ads how “playing is believing”)

-The Final Secret/minor surprises also-

-Wii will include a built-in decent resolution camera that can be used to add your face to character models and add innovation to games. These snapshots can be tweaked as well. It is still being decided whether to allow camera to record and stream video. Mention made to have this feature be a strong feature in online play.

-A wireless headset will be made available at launch.

-SD cards will range from 2GB to 7GB and will be priced “within reason”.

-A new router technology is still in development and not yet available to developers. In the final product Nintendo hopes to be able to make every Wii a sort of “Wi-Fi hotspot” with each user connecting to that user and so on. They also want to be able to allow different users to share things and are thinking about setting up a pseudo-P2P network through Connect24, where users can share content and “other things”. This means that even if you have a dial-up connection or no internet, you can still connect to Wii Connect24.

-The Wii will indeed have a PPU included in final hardware. It will have only 32MB though, which will still take a considerable amount of pressure off of other chips.

-A still-in-development simple dev tool will be made available to users through the Connect24 network. It will allow users to create a simple game in 2D or simple 3D and share it with the world. This will hopefully be available on the network by launch.

-The last big secret is the “graphics solution”. It revolves around a whole lot of non-volatile RAM (opting out of HDD support, RAM is much faster than a HDD). And a development interface that centers on a AI-controlled command-line interface. This additional tech only included in final dev kits, while most developers don’t have access to final dev kits.

Space World has not taken place in 5 years.

And if Nintendo does deside to do two bundles they both need to have to remotes. The whole fucking lame ass name is based on two remotes!

These are all the biggest BS I've ever heard.

1st, there won't be HD-DVD for the system if there's no HD on the actual games.

2nd, there's no way in hell Nintendo would release even 1 AO game on launch day, not to mention three! (though as the OP said they probably just meant M, which is plausible)

3rd, they're not making a game based on Ichi the Killer, one of the most violent movies ever made, and especially not for a child-oriented console from Nintendo.

4th, Nintendo doesn't plan all the way to 2009. If anything, by then the Wii 2 will be out.

5th, no. Sony wouldn't let that happen.

6th, they're not gonna put that much stuff in that bundles. Keep dreaming.

Forget it man. Moz la Punk's boards are consistently full of shit. I started a lot of rumours on there just to watch them blossom and sure enough they did(find the old old threads from when the boards first started and they made Novint Falcon controllers). Don't trust anything from that place.

- Wii will support a HD-DVD format. Nobody knows how Nintendo would do this.

I agree with you. 100% BS.

- We will see loads of new footage of Ubisoft’s Red Steel during Space World. The sword fights will look a lot better in this demo.
If they do have Space World it's usually in August, only a few months from release. Of course they would have more footage.

- Resident Evil 4: Ultimate Edition will appear with loads of extras.
(I could see this happening seeing as Capcom really, really loves to rehash games over and over again.)
If Capcom did release a remake of RE4 I'm sure I would pay full price for it to get it the day it comes out.

- Resident Evil 5 for PlayStation 3 and the Wii version will come out on the same day.
(possible)
I really doubt it.

- In 2009 Wii will get an exclusive Resident Evil game.
It is getting an exclusive Resident Evil

- There will appear two bundles on the release of Wii. The first bundle will cost $299,99 and will contain two controllers with nunchuck, a classic gamepad, a DVD 9 attachement, a wireless headset, a 2 GB SD card, the game Wii sports and ten Virtual Console downloads. Why would the Wii need an attachement to play DVD 9s and not HD DVDs? The $300 bundle seems unrealistic.

- The AI processor in the Wii carries the codename RID: Reactionary, Instinctual Domino AI.
A processor for the AI? I don't think so, it will be handled by the CPU.

- Wii won’t contain CPU and other chips but it will contain bridgets developed by ATI and IBM.
What's a bridget? I'm studying LAN Administation and PC Repair in college and I've never heard of that.

- Wii won’t produce a lot of heat.
No really? The current rumored specs are close to the orginal Xbox, which doesn't put off nearly as much heat as the 360.

- The Artifical Inteligence in Wii games will be very good.
It will vary from game to game.

- Space World 2006 will take place August 2006.
I hope so.

-Nintendo is providing extensive documentation to ease the incorporation of the Wii-mote.
Why wouldn't they?

-The development cycle to possibly equal the time cycles of PS3 and Xbox360 due to the time needed to be innovative and effectively program for the controller.
I find that kind of hard to believe, especially if Nintendo is providing extensive documentation on the Wiimote.

-The challenge of marketing the Wii’s controller in ads and commercial may turn third-parties away from exclusivity. (The challenge to display through ads how “playing is believing”)
They could always use the classic controller for ports.

-SD cards will range from 2GB to 7GB and will be priced “within reason”.
A quick check on Newegg reveals that 2 GB SD cards go for less then $50, and 8 GB SD cards go for less then $200. I'm not sure how this is a secret/surprise.

I don't want people using my bandwidth. It would be fine as long as people only share with my Wii when it's off.

-The Wii will indeed have a PPU included in final hardware. It will have only 32MB though, which will still take a considerable amount of pressure off of other chips.
I really hope this one is true.

-The last big secret is the “graphics solution”. It revolves around a whole lot of non-volatile RAM (opting out of HDD support, RAM is much faster than a HDD).
Does this mean the Wii GPU is going to use static RAM? I find that really hard to believe, since it would really drive up the price.
Or does it mean that the GUP is going to use flash memory (which is slower then DRAM)?

Other startling Wii rumors...
  • Thanks to Connect 24 Jeeves will ask Nintendo Wii.
  • There is no I in team. However, there are two i's in Wii. fuck you team.
  • Nintendo Wii beat Bobby Fischer in a game of chess. And by that I mean, beat Bobby Fischer into a coma using only the white rook.
  • The main power source for the Nintendo Wii is Dilithium Crystals.
  • The Nintendo Wii brought down the walls of Jericho with a spirited 'hadoken'.
  • The purported camera on the Nintendo Wii actually recorded the Paris Hilton sex tape.
  • The only substance hard enough to scratch a Nintendo Wii is another Nintendo Wii.
  • The Nintendo Wii is the only object that, while at rest, will not remain at rest.

Chuck Norris finally has a console worthy of his time.

Why do people have a hard time believing the PS Metal Gear games will be available for Wii's VC? You do know that Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasies IV, V, and VI all came out for PS1 but were originally for the Super Nintendo, right? Not to mention FF1 and 2, which were originally on the NES. It is soley up to Konami's discretion wether or not they wish to have their games available for the VC...

Yawn.

These blow. He's an "insider" and he can't confirm the 40 character bad-assery that Super Smash Bros. Brawl is rumored to be? Psh.

Concerning PS MGS... How different is the GCN "The Twin Snakes" from anything released on PlayStation(s)?

Emulators aren't illegal, roms are if you don't own the rights. So, yes, it should be totally up to Konami.

Pfft. If this were Sony, they'd be telling us that the network is SO super awesome, it will synthesize waffles out of thin air.

Not valid examples. The Square nostalgia packages for the PS1 were not running under emulation. The use of FMV and the appearance of the games originally released on the NES should have been major hints on that front.

What Square did was create an engine that recreated a lot of the SNES structure within the PS1. Primarily character mapping, sprites, and some other functions that had a lot of influence on the look and feel of those games. At the same time the developer is still free to talk to the PS1 for things like video playback. While they looked like SNES games the code running was not the SNES original.

Konami owns the games but would have to produce a new code base to run it on a new platform. It is questionable whether the PS1 MGS titles would be within a size Nintendo considers reasonable for the Virtual Library and whether it would be worth the investment to get it running since it cannot use emulation without Sony's permission.

More importantly, the PS1 Metal Gear Solid has already been remade for the GameCube as part of 'The Twin Snakes.' After all of the work that went into that, why do a cutdown version to work as a VC download if 'The Twin Snakes' will run just fine on the Wii??

If little Billy can pull porn magically out of thin air on his PSP, how far can they be from material objects. Porn is the first step to anything.
