Yet More Craigslist Stupidity!

Rochester's bad today:

Hope you're not in a "HURY" to get rid of this, b/c at this price, you're keeping it forever:

PS2 SLIM PACKAGED DEAL

I am not in any hury to get rid this I just dont play it any more and tryin to make a lil space.Package is ideal far a auto install ,with the long range wireless controllers. That is why i kept it but never wound up puttin the ps2 in my car. 585-794-3091

*Will not seperate*

2 - Wired sony controllers
2 - Logitech wireless "THE BEST WIRELESS PS2 CONTROLLERS"
1 - Sony 8 MB memory card
games pictured below and a few more are all included *except dance revolution2 and the mat"

And this guy - wants to trade two last generation systems (total value - $70-100??) and MAYBE $50 worth of games (and that's generous) for a current gen system PLUS games and accessories worth over $100. WERE YOU DROPPED ON THE HEAD AS AN INFANT?

I love how he notes "serious replies only" like he expects to get dozens of people replying just to say "what are you, a fucking idiot?"

WOW, not just a 360 and some "games and accessories", he's asking for a complete Rock Band 2 Special Edition...i.e. with drums and guitar.

What a dumbass. Good luck with that one, if he manages to pull that off, he should be designated trader of the year. Well if you're going to ask for a grossly uneven trade, better go big!

So this one mofo listed a GC + 14 games (listed below) for $150. He was last listing these in NOVEMBER and sent me scathing insults for replying multiple times (once every time he listed!) with the same "stupid offer" b/c I should recognize the same item with the same pictures - I use a reader, so I don't see pictures anyway - I see a collection, I price it, I blast an e-mail - I make too many offers to worry about if one looks familliar.

My feeling is that he was repeatedly listing with the same stupid asking price (with OBO, by the way and getting pissed b/c I WAS the best offer and it wasn't what he wanted. I'm pasting in the contents of his ad b/c I plan on having it flagged off (since it's been like 16 hours and I'm getting the feeling that he's just not replying to my "stupid offer") by the time anyone reads this post.

System, 3 controllers, 2 memory card, 1 "computer" adatper (network card, I think)
• Burnout
• Tales of Symphonia
• F-Zero GX
• The Legend of Zelda: WindWaker
• Star Wars Bounty Hunter
• Resident Evil: Zero
• Metroid Prime
• Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem
• Mario Kart Doubledash
• Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: BattleNexus
• Sonic Heroes
• Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
• Star Wars Rebel Strike: Rogue Squadron 2
• Star Wars Rebel Strike: Rogue Squadron 3

Think the best i've ever seen is a guy selling a 360 bundle on craigslist saying you get everything in the picture it was probably the system and a bunch of launch games(this was about couple months after launch) anyhow this guy had literally cigarette burns slightly visible on his carpet on top of that the picture was taken on a glass table mind you(that's where I seen the carpet spots) then out of the corner theres a pack of newports sitting there next to an ashtray. It was just irony beyond belief.

I will buy your used Video games cases or without

I buy all kinds of video games and systems and a quick way to get some cash in your pocket Most times same day

For Sports games from 1990-2008 I buy them with cases between .25 cents-1.00 Gamestop will only give you 10 cents cash or 25 cents credit

All other games I buy 50 cents-1.25 depending on the game

all non sports games without cases I pay 25 cents to 50 cents for if no casing

Xbox systems I pay 10 dollars cash for

ps2's I pay 10

360 elite 100

I'll buy sega dream casts and genesis as well

I buy broken xbox's for 5.00 and broken ps3 depending on the problem with it I pay anywhere between 20-67.00 cash

N64 games I'll buy as well for 10 cents-20 cents

http://boston.craigslist.org/sob/wan/1180279773.html

---------------

Even I pay more then that. I Guess I'll sell my black label copy of Dragon Warrior VII for ps1 to this guy.

How much should I let it go for? 50 cents?

Do people even look around a little before they post items for sale?

Why would you post something like this? $50 isn't even that far from eBay prices.. and obviously most people on craigslist expect you to negotiate with them. If you guys keep posting things like this.. you're gonna have to include about half of the ads on craigslist. You all should keep this thread for really ridiculous ads.

This guy still hasn't sold it!

Somehow a console skin makes his system worth $20 more than what Gamestop sells them for.
He did mention that he will include a few games with the Gamecube as well, so the asking price seems a bit fair to me. I would buy it from him if I were looking for a Gamecube.

But whatever, it's all good.
Cockroaches and eggs in the PS2? That's awesome. I guess the guy that sold the console on Craigslist should have charged more for the extras.
But don't you see? He just had a baby. His husband needed some money for diapers.

Well, We can't really say much since we don't know what kind of games. But I still think $50 is too much if we can buy at Gamestop with 14 or 30 days guarantte for $ 30.

By the way, I keep seeing those GC ads in LA/OC area for months and they still don't want to lower the price even though it's not selling. I tried to be nice and told them that GS is selling it cheaper and they replied back with nasty responds.

The prices that guy had listed are a little high but they're not outrageous. It's not like he's asking $200 for it. I'm sure that if you truly wanted to buy what he had for sale, some ACTUAL correspondence with him might result in an outcome that you both would be happy with.
http://fayetteville.craigslist.org/ele/1179475069.html
Here's another one that shouldn't have been posted. He's asking for $50 for his COD4. That's the same price that wal-mart and target sell it for.. the only difference is that his is used, and he's an actual human being, who would probably happily sell it for less than that.

Dude, Did your CL ads being featured here for overpricing or what? :) You keep comparing CL with Ebay and defending those overpriced items. $ 300 for a 36" tube TV is way too expensive.

I'm thinking of selling some stuffs to you since it seems that you pay high dollar. Do you want to buy my 36" Toshiba Tube TV for $ 200? It's $ 100 cheaper than the CL ads.

Seriously......I've been meaning to ask the same thing, Phrost?

Another ?, where and how do find Ebay listings that already ended? I'm curious to know as that could be very helpful.

I got some shit for sale too...A 42" SOny WEGA LCD rear Projection HDTV.....only slightly overpriced at $800. Too high?, c'mon man I paid $2400 FOUR years ago! I barely ever used it, only like 8 hours a day sometimes!

Only if I get a discount for screen burn-in LMAO.

Alright maybe the Dog bone NES is worth it. But still, craigslist is supposed to be the bargain bin garage sale rock bottom flea market. Not like some kind of ebay clone. You avoid hassles and fees but you're gonna have to settle for less or it won't sell.

That's speaking from experience.
Only if I get a discount for screen burn-in LMAO.
Actually no burn in whatsoever. I'm suprised the bulb hasn't went yet either, because when I bought it the salesmen asked me how long It would be on every day, and I figured with my wife and kids home during the day and me after work, at least 8 hours. So he tells me the bulb will burn out in like a year, so I buy the extended warranty for two years, and the bulb was still going strong for the two years. When the expiration of the warranty was close, I started leaving that thing on 24/7 and the fuckin bulb never burnt out. Now I haven't used it much in the last year, since I got my new one for upstairs and also just picked up another one for the basement.
