I'm sorry that I don't have an actual ad to post, but here's a nice exchange between one disgruntled PSP "H@x0r" lacking both common sense and decent use of the english language.

Prologue: I notice an ad posted in the games/toys section of my local craigslist in which the seller was attempting to sell a Phat PSP with a 4GB memory stick for $350. Naturally, the exorbitant price caught my eye. The bundle came with no actual games, and the mark up was for "hacking services" and some CD-ROMS (to cheap to burn a DVD-ROM) with some games on it. If the internal alarm bells aren't ringing yet, I suggest you inspect the wiring.

Exchange (My writing in italics, and the idiot's writing in bold):
$350? You really expect to get $350? Are you mentally challenged? I'm asking that seriously. Not only that, but you're trying to add games YOU DON'T LEGALLY OWN in order to "sweeten the pot". I hope that the lawyers representing the publishers of the games you're ripping off (taking their hard work and selling it as your own) get a hold of your ass. They'd fucking go Apocalypse Now on your bank account and current assets.

Here's a solution, get a real job, prostitute yourself, or go live on the streets like a bum because you're acting like one.
hey its none of your business, ok? if you dont buy it just SHUT UP please, and keep your mouth off other people business, thank you, yes 350 for my work to hack the F ing psp okay, now remember that, keep your mouth off other people's business. Thank you and have a nice day.
Tony

Considering that you're PSP isn't even a new slim, it's worth maybe $100 at most (that's what mine sold for about a year ago). That means you're charging $250 to hack and mod it. I see so many other ads for PSP Hacks/Mods going for $20. It's not even a good deal. The thing is, I might just happen to know some people at Sony, who might just happen to know some people in Sony's Legal Department who might not like your business tactics (selling games you don't own). Let's consider the fact that Sony publishes some of those games, do you think they're very happy about this? I'll let you think that one through, and have a nice day yourself.

well i can hack a slim one too, you know, i dont know but all the hack i got probably came from workers in the sony company, that's how they get more money and stuff, and anyway i dont have time to talk to you. ok bye now and nice name for the gmail, look like scam right there lol
Sony workers? You can't even acknowledge the people who came up with the actual hacks? Dark Alex ring a bell? How about Team M33? You're charging people money so you can use their programs to perform a service. That, in and of itself, is not illegal. Trying to sweeten your ad by advertising "free games" when you're really giving away Intellectual Property you don't own is indeed illegal.

In the end, it doesn't matter since your ad's been pulled.

dude, just stfu, i know who dark alex is ok, ur fuking annoy, i dont want to be nice anymore wit you asshoe imma use curse word now fuck you, now go fuck your self aight just because i know how to hack the psp and you dont, go stick ur dick in a pig pussy or something fukind dick head, ur really annoy im fuking serious. now quit email me asshoe, and fuck OFF

You're using curse words!? ZOMG! What am I to do? You're just lucky I didn't phish your phone number, because I could have sent your (unprotected) Myspace, a copy of the craigslist ad, said phone number, and your e-mail addy to the Orange County Sheriff's Department. I'm sure you've seen the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department crack down on people selling knockoffs, it'd look something like that. Oh, and what's and "asshoe"? Is that something like a gardening hoe or a hoe that specializes in ass-related sales?

Not that it matters, but, yes I do know very much how to hack a PSP. I also know the alphabet, but you don't see me celebrating.

^^^^^ Totally, that just made my day! "IMMA USE CURSE WORDS NAO" :whee:

So here's one from my neck 'o the woods:

http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/clt/782005555.html

In the late 1990’s through 2002, I used to review computer and console games for a magazine. So many games came in that many are still unopened in their original cellophane wrappers.

Original Playstation 1 game console with two controllers (one has force-feedback) and three memory cards. Use the games on the cards, or erase and save your own.
Thirty-five titles (listed below) from children’s games to racing, real-time strategy and first-person shooters are in the collection. Six of the titles are unopened in their original cellophane wrappers.
Additionally, there are Official Playstation Magazine discs starting with monthly issues from September 2000 through May 2001 (all unopened in cellophane wrappers, before they started numbering the issues), and then numbers 12 through 35 (#16 is missing), with numbers 33, 34 & 35 also unopened in cellophane wrappers. Magazine discs generally have an average of 5 playable demos in each issue.
There is a copy of Playstation Underground Magazine (2-disc set) and three unopened copies of the “Best of Playstation Underground Magazine” in their cellophane wrappers.
From the game studios, there are fourteen Playable Demo discs, twelve of which are unopened in their original cellophane wrappers.
For Playstation 2, more copies of unopened Official Playstation Magazine, issues 49 through 62 (numbers 50, 52 and 54 are missing) in their original cellophane wrappers.
There are two Playstation promotional discs for PS1, “Live In Your World, Play In Ours”, a promotional disc for PS2, and a “Fantavision” promotional disc for PS2 that is still unopened in its cellophane wrapper.

It's a pretty decent PS1 collection with a couple sealed games, but the guy wants like $400 for it. I offered him $100 (lol) which he countered with $250. No way is all that stuff worth $250, although I almost did s*** my pants when I thought I saw Tomba 1 & 2 still sealed, but they're only the demos.

There's something sketchy about that second one...definitely looks like a mugger's ad.

Yep it's some sort of bogus ad, because the same exact ad just popped up in LA:

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/ele/806665187.html

And that free Sybian...DAMN. I wish that was in LA, I'd see if I could get my wife to go for it, LOL.

That's the thing - it's down from $500 last week. Either this person really needs to sell, or it is a mugger's ad. I've sent an email off, we'll see if it gets answered.

Just be careful no matter what, because as I said, that same exact ad, same picture and all, was just posted in LA under the westside/southbay electronics section. It was flagged off though.

I'm in for a black back!

Just an update....a page or two back I told a story about a guy selling a Sega Master System, Genesis, NES, and atari 2600 and how I offered him $30 dollars for the SMS to which he replied that was "way too low" and talked about how much money its worth because its so rare and it goes for $120+ at goodwill.......

He is selling it for $25 dollars now....LESS than what I offered him to begin with. I guess he was right, $30 is way too low and it's "so rare" that I need to "buy now because it will go quickly"
Those are crappy games but he is selling them for 3 bucks a piece, not that bad
Yeah, $3 a game is pretty good, but unfortunately, most of it is doubles and old sports games.
http://orlando.craigslist.org/sys/807369683.html

i'm stupified by this listing.... $600? is he joking?
That's not really that bad. The computer is about 3 or 4 years old, now, but some of the components were obviously upgraded recently, especially the video card. You get a lot of accessories, a monitor, and some software. Plus, it's Craigslist, so you have no choice but to start high.

I'm fucking sick and tired of people making me low ball offers on my stuff.

I have a TV listed right now, there is nothing wrong with the TV and its fairly new. I have it at $60. If someone offered $40 for it I would consider it and probably take it. I've had 3 people make offers, $25, $20, and $20. After the second offer I added, "Please do not offer me $20, it won't happen". Sure enough I got another $20 offer. People are fucking stupid.

/rant

EDIT: Just looked on ebay and there is the same TV going for $42 plus $16 shipping with 14 bids and 2 1/2 days left. fucking idiots.

Well technically, you always offer 50% of what you WANT to pay for something.....I would suspect those people thought they would offer $20, then you would counter with $50, eventually meet at $40. At least thats how I would do it. Then again, it sounds like those people you are dealing with aren't clever enough to do that!

I dont know whats funnier, when people sell playstations and call them nintendos, or when people sell nintendos and call them playstations. I think the best is one of the stories from Dom and Liz's site (I think thats where it was from) where they found an NES in a box with "playstation" written in cursive on it

Nope, I (like many) hate low ballers and low ballers rarely counter a counter offer so I don't even bother with schmoes that are out to rip everyone off anymore. If you can't give me a decent offer I'm not going to deal with you or I will send out a firm higher offer than I normally would give.

I don't get why it is ok to insult people with super lowball offers.

I don't get why people get offended by lowballs, for the last 2000+ years people have been bartering and the world works that way. You want to sell your shit, you try and haggle and get what you want out of it and come to an agreement, or you be the jerk that runs home with his basketball because he didn't get the kind of passes he expected to receive.

Yeah, I don't know why people get offended and find it insulting when they get lowballed. Are lowballers annoying? Yeah, sure, but whatever. They shoot me a message, I don't want to go that low, and that's that. I don't see how it's insulting. The other person took a chance. The reality is, sometimes taking those chances does work, so people aren't going to stop taking them.

And saying that I "ripped somebody off" because I offered them a lowball and they took it is preposterous. By offering them a lowball did I somehow render the seller powerless to say "no" or to research it on ebay before saying yes?

I know I'm not alone on the low ball camp but claiming that you aren't ripping someone off because you are in the know and they aren't is crooked.

Have you ever wondered why no one respects used car salesmen and why they are called crooks?
The reality is, sometimes taking those chances does work, so people aren't going to stop taking them.
Don't get me wrong I don't take it personal but by low balling you take the chance of dealing with someone like me that gives the occasional deal to get rid of something but never the deal to a lowballer.

In my experience I have never got the crazy lowball offers IRL at a garage sale or swap meet like I get online from craigslist. It is like everything else don't do something online that you wouldn't do face to face. Just a FYI, I'm not a reseller but I do sell the occasional personal used goods on craigslist or at a swap meet.

Do your research before you sell something, especially if it's online, where you have no excuse. I'm sorry, but if someone sells something blindly without figuring out what it's worth, that's not my problem.

Now on the other hand, I would never LIE to someone and tell them their stuff isn't worth anything if it is.

You don't read the Yard Sale thread do you?

Nope.

I'm not a religious man but I respect my fellow man and don't try to fuck thy neighbor every chance I get . I don't deal or associate with others that don't follow the same or simillar creed. I know this is cheap ass gamer but I don't get the dog eat dog mentality on saving a buck at any cost. It is one thing to barter and to get a deal but it is a whole different issue to offer 20%- 50% of an items resell value.

Then I guess we're done here.

There was a guy on my local list looking to buy PS3, 360 and Wii games. Thinking he was a new gamer, I sent him a list of games I had to sell. Those games were:

Xbox 360
Assassin's Creed, Beowulf, Bomberman Act Zero, Bully, Burnout Revenge, Conan, The Darkness, Enchanted Arms, Fusion Frenzy 2, Gun, Kameo, NBA Live 08, NCAA Football 08, Perfect Dark Zero Collectors Edition, Sonic the Hedgehog, Turok, Viking

PS3
Eye of Judgement, Full Auto 2, Genji, Stranglehold Collector's Edition, Stuntman Ignition, Surf's Up, Virtua Fighter 5

Wii
Blast Works, Dragon Quest Swords, Octomania, Okami, Red Steel, Sonic and the Secret Rings, Super Swing Golf, Thrillville

He offered me $200 for everything. That's a whopping $6.25 per game. I laughed at him and told him to find some other sucker to start up his own game store. Then he replied back with:

"tell me what ud like for all of them then. I am trying to buy in bulk."

Oy. Any advice? I kinda wanna screw with this guy now.
