Looks like someone bumped me, ****so some of the links don't work anymore, a ton of prices jumped back up (like HL2 now is $15)***, but TBH, it's too time consuming to go back and redo.

Good looking out for the list, Quintox...Unfortunately, most of the good cheap games I either already got, or don't really want. That and no soccer games on sale...Boooo! :bomb:
Another game worthy of recommendation but maybe not flammie is Aeon Flux (PS2). If a brawler/shooter/platformer based off of Aeon Flux (Think if Bloodrayne and the Prince of Persia had a daughter. Was made by the Bloodrayne doods) at all interests you, Aeon Flux will deliver. It ain't anything spectacular, but it is good fun and worth $10.
Hmmm...I might have to check that out, Skull, as I am one of the few that actually played thru and ENJOYED the two Blood Rayne games...And since its rather doubtful that a Blood Rayne 3 will come out, even though they left the story in a bad situation and screams for a conclusion, I guess I better try out Aeon Flux. BTW, is that Xbox James Bond game really worth the buy? I've seen it for a dfecent used price, but never pulled the trigger. :nottalking:

Aeon Flux plays a smidge differently than Bloodrayne, but it is very nice.

And 007:Everything or Nothing is exquisite, one of the finest third-person shooters I've played.

Full Metal : FIFA 06 for 360 is like $13 or something FYI

Skull: Aeon Flux will get a flamie and the other Joe's gone :)

Soda: Yes they are new

Desi: Yes, took me a long time, and still not done (need to add GBA)

Most of the games that I want on the list, I already have. Thanks for the list OP! I'll go check later this week if this is good instore too.

Wow ... nice list.

The other reason I said, "Wow" was because I already a copy of every game on that list. That's amazing .......... I need to find a new hobby.

I go to multiple SoCal Fry's quite often, and I can tell you that some of these online prices are equal to the in store prices, a lot of these prices are better in store, and there are still a few here that beat the in store prices.

It really does vary. Mostly, the online sale prices are higher than the in store sale prices, but sometimes you get a gem online. And yeah, shipping (and tax for me) does kill it.

But if you have a Fry's near you, go to the store and check out the prices - you will find a LOT of great deals like this. Even better, a LOT of these games and others that are seriously clearance priced are still IN STOCK.

Shipping ended up sucking, but I picked up a few to offset (all XBOX):

King Kong
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
NFL Street 2
NCAA Football 06

Not much for GBA really. Rebelstar and Counter Punch are quite good though. Shaman Master of Spirits is just OK. Those prices after shipping are not all that great. I have seen them all for $15 or less each at various times.

Hell of a nice job on the list though.

That's a good, but not great, price for Rebelstar. Could likely be found for cheaper, but it might just be rare these days. But Counter-Punch is 8.96 at CC, and I'm 95% sure that your CC has it. As another gentleman said, Counter-Punch at 8.96 is "a bargain at twice the price."

I don't oppose the flammie for Aeon Flux. It took me AGES to find it cheap. I got it for $25-ish because I never thought it would EVER get low.

Was about to pull the trigger on Beyond Good and Evil... but passed when I saw a 3-rdparty seller on Amazon had it new for under $5 w/ $3.50 shipping. USed part of a gift certificate there. Don;t forget to check Amazon for third-party discounts!

Would have preferred the 'cube verison of B G&E, but alas that appears to be a rather rare game. :(

Thx rad, missed that. Good find Asgardian, added it to OP.

Well, I'm glad a few people got something, be sure to stop by B&M if it's close by to see if any prices are similar
If you are one of the last 2 people on Earth who have yet to play Half-Life 2, that is a frickin STEAL.

Thx rad, missed that.
You misread my post.

1000 ACHIEVEMENT points, not Marketplace points. There are only 5 of them and you can unlock all of them in a single game with the right settings.

It's a joke.
be sure to stop by B&M if it's close by to see if any prices are similar
I can verify that most (I can't remember the kids' games) of the GBA/DS prices are similar/same in-store. I wish I had seen this thread as a heads up before going to Frys earlier today.

Here are some marked down games that I picked up this afternoon in case anyone is wondering what else could be out there B&M-wise.
Scurge (GBA) - $9.90
Yggdra Union (GBA) - $14.90
Super Robot Taisen: Orig Gen (GBA) - $14.90
Killer7 (PS2) - $4.90

edit: By the way, thanks for the effort, OP!

Remind me to vote Frys.com for worst game retailer website design in next year's Cheapy Awards. Their search/sort functions are terrible.

Thanks for the list Quintox!

I'd add a :hot: for Shaman King: Master of Spirits. I guess it's based off some kids show, but it's a really great game that good great reviews. It's basically a well-done Metroid-style game. Probably uses the Castlevania engine, but it is actually different from those (It's not at all a carbon copy of those games, but is in that "Metroidvania" genre).

I payed $20 or so and didn't regret it.

All of the XBox deals are available in stores as long as your Fry's still has them in stock. There's a bright red paper sign advertising "get 'em while you can" prices on clearanced games.

Turok Evolution gamecube for $2.90 is incredibly not worth it. It is the worst game of last generation. A buggy unplayable mess so terrible, it's not worth playing if someone paid you to take it.
Turok Evolution gamecube for $2.90 is incredibly not worth it. It is the worst game of last generation. A buggy unplayable mess so terrible, it's not worth playing if someone paid you to take it.
I bought that shitty game for $1 and its still not worth it. Trade that away in an instant.

If you go to power search, and just put in the name for the system (DS, PSP, Xbox, etc), you get a list of everything which can then be sorted by price.

There is quite a bit of stuff up not in the OP, from a quick scan (sorry, I'm at work).

(looks like the OP has quite a bit updated)

the blood rayne games were awesome especially the first one so yeah i can see aeon flux as a worthy buy.

I don't have the specifics, but I decided to clean out as many Fry's as I could over the course of a weekend (including Good Friday) on Easter weekend.

I hit the one in the Inland Empire (I think that is the official location) east of LA on Friday afternoon, and the sales were fantastic.

I picked up a ton of stuff I wanted, and this store even had TONS and TONS of old NES games, cartridge only, in plastic baggies for $.90 each. The problem? There were only about 5 games to choose from - Infiltrator, Bases Loaded Second Season, some Chess Master game, and a couple of others that looked like crap. But I figure if anyone wants to resell them on ebay or something, they may be able to make some money.

I didn't get Scurge Hive for GBA or Yggdra Union here, but I got a ton of other stuff like Call of Chtulu, Tales of Phantasia (had a lot), Rebelstar Tactics, about 10 games total for $60. Is Advent Rising any good, by the way? They had a ton.

Then on Saturday I went first to the Burbank Fry's, which sucked royally - didn't get a damn thing. Then to the Woodland Hills Fry's and picked up Yggdra Union (had a lot) and the last copy of Scurge: Hive or whatever it's called for GBA.

Biggest disappointment is that NONE of the stores had Ultimate Ghosts N Goblins...I haven't seen that game anywhere on clearance, either Best Buy or Toys R Us. In any case, I will try and post a scan of my receipt to show the games I got at both locations and their prices. They match up what the OP is reporting. I may check out Manhattan Beach later, as they tend to have a lot of good games and are lousy with keeping up on correctly pricing items so merchandise doesn't move (it still comes up at the clearance/cheap prices when scanned, but is stickered much higher).

hot damn, and i missed the sale at cc last week!

guess i should still pick it up for $10...

2) good job getting those nes games...easy money down the road lol
3) and would you be willing to sell call of cthulu?

Thanks for #1 and #2. I wish they had a better selection of NES games - they must have had 100+ copies of Bases Loaded 2. Seriously.

In regards to #3, sorry, I guess I should have picked up another copy (I only saw one more, and it was TORN UP - the plastic, at least). This one is for me. I've wanted a good horror game for a while.

I thought AR was awesome. Xbox version has a lot of glitches though...I never encountered anything that ruined the game though.

i dont mean to spam and turn this into a trading thread, but if anyone could pick up Chaos Theory for xbox for me it would be greatly appreciated

i will gladly pay shipping and a lil extra for you, just PM if you do happen to pick one up

Perhaps we should create a topic in the Trading Thread dedicated to the Fry's clearance?

I thought I'd throw this out there: By any chance would you be willing to pick up a copy of Tales of Phantasia for me? How much was it at Fry's?
I thought I'd throw this out there: By any chance would you be willing to pick up a copy of Tales of Phantasia for me? How much was it at Fry's?
It was either $14.9x or $19.9x, I can't remember but I think the receipt is still in the car and will check it later if I don't forget. Unfortunately, I am not close at all to that Fry's. I live and work in West LA, and that one is about 30 miles away. The only reason I stopped in there was because I was traveling by it for business. I may go out that way again for business in a few weeks, since I do every month or so, but no guarantees.
I thought AR was awesome. Xbox version has a lot of glitches though...I never encountered anything that ruined the game though.
I'll second that. AR was probably one of the better XBOX games I played through last year. A shame the proposed series will never be finished. Basically Majesco made the game out to be the second coming, hyping it up to no end (couldn't go for a day on G4 without seeing something about it), and when it wasn't, there was a major backlash. Realistically, it's a nice third-person shooter with the best use of Star Wars-like force powers this side of KotOR. The story is great, and while the game engine is a bit long in the tooth, I had a lot of fun with it.

thanks for the post op. i went ahead and finally purchased aeon flux and ratchet and clank 2. id heard ok things on aeon flux so at 9 dollars its not too much of a loss and ratchet and clank 2 new for 9 bucks is a freakin steal.

I think I got the last copy of 007 Everything or Nothing for PS2 at my Fry's. It had a $19.99 price tag but it rang up as $9.99. I had forgotten the CAG post for the 007 game was for the Xbox version and it being cheaper, but they didn't have any.

At first I was happy to see Half-Life 2 in stock but they told me it was still $14.99; I just saw this thread when I came back and I guess they were telling the truth. :(

i saw a butt load of beyond good and evil for ps2 today but they were marked $19.99... is there any chance that they will ring up for $5

(i didnt get a chance to check the price)
