YMMV ToysRUS "Green" Clearance is up to 70% off!

I picked up Sin and Punishment for the Wii ($5) and Fallout New Vegas Ultimate Edition ($12).
The had a variety of other games, I picked these up in Leominster MA.

The worker said the prices will steadily decrease, but he is not sure when the next drop will be.

They had an assortment of other games on ALL consoles.
Some hidden gems.

Just look for the games with a Lime Green tag on them. They all say "Was $##.##" but don't give the real price until you check them either at a register or kiosk.

1) Found Skyrim and a couple other things (L4D2, Mortal Kombat: Komplete) at a TRU that has 60% clearance the other day.

2) That same TRU also had a preowned games section that I've never seen before. Is that new? National?
they have always had used games just not good ones or alot. They started a trade in program back in 2009

I can tell you first hand that the following TRUs do not have what you're looking for: Alhambra, Monrovia, West Covina, Chino Hills and Upland.

Hope it helps.
I'll throw Culver City, Lawndale, La Cienega, Glendale/Atwater Village, Burbank, and Alhambra (again) on the list as having nothing much worth getting at this point. Haven't checked out the west Valley/Topanga/Canoga Park store, but it is usually meh.
Dude if you've been to all of that, I'll give you props for driving thru LA horrible traffic, especially in this hot weather.

Both of yall get out of my hood lol. I've been caging since 05.
The OC has been my CAG playground since '03. But in all seriousness we should collaborate whenever there are deals out here. Especially the Target clearance, I usually do sweeps as north as Anaheim to as far Aliso Viejo whenever a good deal strikes. I won't go out of my way to search for things but if I am in the area I take advantage of the deal.

MN CAGs: the Maple Grove location seems to have restocked a bit.  They have multiple TW101 now; I don't remember it being stocked there before.  Nothing else that great.

Picked up:

:360: Read Dead Redemption GOTY $29.99 green (same price/sticker for PS3 version)

Another enemy in the oc area lol

Your profile say 2004. So I got you beat man lol. I have been member since Jan 2003 (if you check my profile) but I didn't start buying cheap games and collecting games till like 05. I was a broke ass college student back then so I would lurked on this site and buy nothing lol. Yeah It's all good. You guys don't have to worry about me lol. All of my games are bought via Amazon, Bestbuy, GameFly, etc. now. I only step into TRU if I'm around the neighborhood.

My biggest regrets was selling off my PS1 JRPG/WRPG collection (80+ games which is worth like at least $2000+ now) on ebay for $400 (a cager here bought them) so I can buy college books. I started lurking/trolling in '03, but didn't join until '04. Just as yourself, I buy most of my stuff online with the exception of an occasional B&M deal. Still have my PSOne and a PS Portable with totes full of classic games. Now I feel like playing a round of Rival Schools.

Did you migrate from VGDEALS.Com by chance? I meet a few cagers that came from there. I was at Vgdeals in 02 and then move to CAG in 03 because the forum was too slow, lack of updates, and buggy with that sql server error bs.

Dang, and I just placed my order on 101 on Amazon. Oh well, at least I didn't pay for it with my own money...at toys r us I would have. :/ (not that it makes me feel any better)

Yes, but did you grow up here? :p

I would say go by age, but according to alextastic a profile he's older than me by a year lol
Nope I was raised in Long Beach. Living there in the 90s was tough man lol. Glad I don't live there anymore.

Not gonna lied but Torrance/South Bay area was the spot though. You were living in a gold mine dude. When I was unemployed (best two years ever lol - biweekly unemployment check), my routine was to hit up Sears in Torrance @ 10am every 1st friday of the month (bought a bunch of cheap ass games and electronics here), then go next door to TRU (previous TRU was on Torrance blvd or was it Del Lamo blvd - PS2 $9.98 clearance sale & B1G1 Free PS1 games :) ), then Frys in Manhattan Beach ($3-$5 JRPG DS/GBA Games), Kmart in Carson (stack of clearance games on the wall/shelf, not behind the glass window) then Sears in Carson, then local Goodwill/Thriftstores, and then drive back home. ah the memories.

Stopped by today and was a bit surprised to find star fox 3ds.  Not sure if I missed it in my other trips, if it was a restock, or if something was in front of it in the case before...but score!

Stopped by the Toys R Us on Old Spanish Trail in Houston today. Added to the newly bought Vita collection. Picked up a cradle(last one), some screen protectors(last one), and Touch My Katamari and Lumines for $12 and Fifa Soccer and Little Deviants for $8.

Holy. Shit. Stopped at a northern store that I had been by before. They got a truck from the central WH that had clearance restock.

Grabbed Shao Kahn's Temple (huge) for 2.00 (yes, you can drool). Picked up Assassins Creed NECA glider for 2.00!!! Found a claptrap for 4, got a Lara Croft statue (my store had run out, so I was happy paying 16). Holy shit. The guy waiting on me was a geek, too and he was upset that he had missed those deals.

To update a previous post that I made, I received my 2 copies of The Wonderful 101 from toysrus.com yesterday and attempted to do a return/rebuy today to get it at the clearance price.  I am happy to say that it worked without issue.  I walked in and went to the service desk and said the game was cheaper in store than online so I wanted to do a return/rebuy.  She said no problem and scanned the items to return and then scanned them at the clearance price and refunded the difference to the card I purchased them with (not instore credit as someone previously suggested).  She also said it was a great idea and something she might do herself in the future.  If I was given any gruff about it my story was going to be that I called last week and was told it was okay.  I did not have to use that though.

Here is the link to The Wonderful 101: http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=21637336&prodFindSrc=search&cp=

Good luck to all those that attempt this.  It should work with any instore clearance items that you can find available online.

Good to hear it worked. In for two. Hopefully it goes as smoothly as it did for you. *fingers crossed*

There were different ones from different movies. Prometheus, AVP, ALIENS. The one I remember the most was a 8 inch figure with a almost life size facehugger (which I thought was awesome).

I would have picked up a few extra screen protectors for my vita, too, but the ones at my store were all beat up and dented and dirty. Not sure what happened to them.

I didn't hit 'em all in one day, just over the past few weeks since the sale began as I was in the area of the stores during the course of my normal travels. That and reports passed on from associates. But I can vouch for most of the stores not having anything worthwhile personally...not really surprising given how many resellers, collectors, gamers, hoarders, soccer moms, etc. inhabit SoCal.

EDIT: looks like Kid Icarus isn't available on toysrus.com any more. Boo-urns.

So I went in today for a price adjustment but this time it was the manager at the cs desk. She told me that "normally" their not supposed to do it for items that are on clearance, only items on sale.. I was just like.. Um.. Okay? She said "she'd do it for the last time." it's okay.. There's a toysrus the same distance in the opposite direction. :)

I'd love to know what the company's official policy is on that. I hate when an employee tells me they're not supposed to do something for me while they're doing it for me. Hey guess what? I don't care and you're a shitty employee.

At my local Toys R Us I saw the P11 Turtle Beach gaming headset for PS3 blue clearance so about $17 after clearance before tax. The Afterglow Headsets are also on blue clearance. Too bad the P22 I wanted weren't on sale, neither were that other comfortable looking headset.

The games were just bad tho, like games no one ever wants to touch >.>

What he was told is correct.

The official policy for price adjustments is 14 days after purchase if the item goes on sale. This is to exclude clrearance items.

A lot of stores really don't follow this. If the receipt scans in the system and allows it, they will do it. I have mentioned this a few times in this thread.

Yeah, damn them for doing something that's against store policy, but agreeing to do it because they're trying to satisfy a customer! They suck!

Thanks for the heads up, my P11's recently crapped out (and i lost the audio pass-through cable for in-game audio), and $17 sounds perfect for a replacement pair. Will check out my local TRUs.
Not sure if anybody mentioned this but I saw FarCry 3 for sale for $8 after the discount. Hope it helps folks curious about it
Damn, will have to keep my eye out for this.

It's pretty common in general to do something helpful for a customer while trying to discourage them from doing it over and over.

Are you a wizard?

Swung by my Toys R Us. Nothing terribly exciting from last time. Did get

Okamiden DS $12.00 (priced $29.99, green clearance)

Dream Trigger 3DS $4.00 (priced $9.99, green clearance)

In all honest they shouldn't, at least IMO... The whole point of tiering a clearance event is so you get better deals at the time they go to the next part of the cycle.

In situations like this the thing you should always ask yourself is "Would this work if they did it for everybody?" For this the answer is quite obviously NO...can you just imagine that? If they did then everybody would just go in and scoop up TONS of items and go back later for either an adjustment or just a straight return if it never dropped to where they wanted it to...
