you guys dont really know me but i have sad news.

yeah i thank god my family is fine, and no one was there at the time. but that feeling man it sux. oh well no one was hurt and thats what really matters

we spent the night at the new place, and i came to the old place, to get some more boxes moved out, and they broke the living room window, and the back door was wide open when i went there, i already thought the worst. I was right.
someone was obviously watching.
Yes. if you have any "fishy" old neighbors tell the cops. same thing happened to a friend of mine, cops checked his old neighbors apartment and there was all his stuff. They watched him move and broke in overnight. Good luck.

I think these kind of threads pop on on CAG every few months now. Sucks man. Talk to the neighbors and see if they have any info. Don't know what the Police will do.

yep my guess is its someone from your neighborhood . check the local pawn shops also think about any people you may have noticed watching you while you were getting things ready to move and maoving things out.

i remember tracy morgan told a joke about how when he and his family were ready to move out of the ghetto they did all their moving at night at once that way people couldnt see where you were moving to and follow you and they wouldnt be up to ask you any questions.

good luck getting your stuff back and finding the lazy rat bastards who stole from you. thats always the fear about collecting anything or having anything nice. some asshole is going to come along one day and take it.

Sorry about your stuff OP, but you should really get insurance. If you're renting, renter's insurance is about $10 a month and would cover all of that. And if you own, you should REALLY have homeowner's insurance. I'm not being a dick or anything, I'm just saying, it's well worth the money you pay for it. Anyway, hope you get your stuff back. Be sure to check the pawn shops. And there were a lot of games, so check the local Gamestops to see if anybody traded in any large bundles similar to the games you had.

That sucks bro, check around at the local pawn shops and ask if anyone has brought in a group of your stuff that you might recognize. Also, be sure to look for anything they might have left behind, I had my car stereo stolen once and the bastards left behind the tools they used to take it with.

Sorry to hear OP- Keep your eyes on the lookout for any of your goods, but get the police involved, last thing you need is to be worried for your safety because you tried to take things into your own hands

Things are replaceable... thankfully you were safe. Going forward, you really need to get Renter's. It isn't that much a month and totally worth it.

Like others mentioned, I also agree that it is most likely someone in your building as it happened when someone obviously knew you wouldn't be there and noticed you had been moving out. Have you had anyone over from your building that would have known what things you might have owned? You might try and hang out with them to see if they happened to have some "new" stuff at their place. Also, if you this was an apartment complex, did you check the trash area for the boxes that everything was in that was stolen?

Keep in mind as long as you're alive you could always buy more stuff, i've been robbed before and yeah it blows but years down the line I don't even think about it

renters insurance. im getting some this week. a friend had her place broken into, they took everything of value. the insurance company cut them a fat check very quickly. i just moved into a new place this past weekend, so i know what its like being worried about leaving your stuff unattended. so we wanted to make sure we got the insurance this time when we moved.

we rented a home, and i found out i have insurance, so im covered. The cops are looking into the place, and said they will keep a keen eye out, as there as been numerous robberys in the last few weeks in my area. I got a few neighbors watching for me too. THe guy showed up out of nowhere talking to my family and when he saw me and my dad he took off real quick said he was checking pipes next door, it takes more than 5 seconds to do that. hopefully they catch him. I gave the cops the serial numbers of what systems i had. Hope they catch him.. im convinced it was the guy that randomly showed up.
it was mainly my old systems, nes, snes, gamecube, xbox1 dreamcasts but stil :( yeah i might have an idea who it was
Was it specific like this? Did they leave other system stuff like newer stuff? Is there any pattern to the robbery that would tie in to someone who had coveted the items? Your mention of older systems and not newer systems makes it sound like you either got your newer stuff out or it was specific.

And before folks twist what I am saying, I'm not doubting him, I'm trying to help him figure out who did it.

Unlike a friend of mine who was robbed while he was at the Gamestop manager's conference. It was more of a home invasion because his roommate was home and had to eat the barrel of a gun while they robbed him.

OP, you and yours were very lucky.

You got burgled rather than robbed, but seriously sucks in any case.

But as others noted, the main thing is that no one was hurt. Hopefully you have renter's or home owners insurance to cover the costs.

That's probably my worst fear that doesn't involve personal injury/disfigurement/death, problems with a relationship (friendship or romantic), or harm coming to my friends, family, or pets. Sorry to hear about your bad luck.

Sorry to hear that; we're in a pretty isolated area, so suspecious people stick out. The family everybody thought was doing it has moved out. We also have someone home at our house 24/7, so it's harder to rob.
