So I was at GameCrazy just hanging out, picking up crap they were gonna throw away (I actually managed to get an NFL Street 2 display case, Ghost Recon 2 oversized box and a Battlefront oversized box). So this guy comes in with a few XBox games (Munch's Oddyssey (sp?), THPS4, and Panzer Dragoon Orta) and wants cash. They offered 5 bucks, so he goes home and gets his PS2. He brings it back and wants cash for it (apparently, he's hard up for cash). He's not 18 though, so GC won't pay off for it. Overhearing the conversation, I stepped up, let the guy register it under my account and pocket the money that GC was offering. As a "thanks", he gave me his PS2 memory card.. and Panzer Dragoon Orta!

Be nice.. what goes around comes around!
 
Sounds like a RARE case to me, but hey I'm all for Karma.

p.s. I thought you meant be nice to retailers... cause they really go through hell.
 
i would have offered him 5.25 per game or whatever else he was selling, telling him "hey its more than they are offering"
and then sell them for more $$ on ebay, keep them if i don't have them, or turn a better profit in another way.
i do it all the time, everytime i'm at a gaming store i scan the custumers at the counter and eavesdrop on what they are selling and what the store is offering
 
Great idea. Now, when they find out all that stuff was stolen, they'll come after you for possessing and selling stolen merchandise. No good deed goes unpunnished.

I was picking up some stuff at Media Play last night; I had preordered Spider-man 2 (DVD) so I could get the free bobblehead. I was also there to do the Tuesday trade-in deal. The guys in front of me were also trying to do the trade-in, but two of their games weren't acceptable. I told them I could help them out, and once we were all outside I gave them 2 extra games that I had. They offered to pay, but I told them not to worry about it, happy holidays. I then went back inside to look through the used stuff and I found LOTR: Third Age (Xbox) for $18.99. Yay, karma.
 
I seriously doubt that it was stolen. He just needed money.. probably for drugs, or something.. Hope it won't come back to haunt me. That would suck. There was already someone on the way to come buy that PS2, though :p

My goal is to have owned (since I sell a good percent of my games after playing them) 100 Xbox games. I think I'm at about 80 now.

I should go down your list and see if I own any games you happen to not have in your collection... And then make a big thread about it to rub it in :lol:

What the hell is the point of having so many xbox games? Play the games and own the games that are good, what does having 100 xbox games accomplish?
 
It's just a goal on the way to a bigger goal. My complete and final goal, once everything is said and done, is 400.. I think there's a little over 500 games on XBox otu now. By the time I get them, they'll all be cheap.

There are quite a few I want from your list, and the ones I won't hopefully aren't in PH casing..

I think most of them aren't in PH casing, though I think Spiderman is, as is MK:DA (a freebie from Psi-Ops purchase), Midnight Club II and Amped. Rest I'd have to see.

Damn, there's 500 games? Guess I'm almost halfway there, with POP:WW on the way from GS.

And maybe it's time to go deciding to do a little house cleaning..... hmmmm.

(it was wrapped up under their tree, so the kids wont know what they lost anyways) So i took it to trade in for cash but they wouldnt let me because i'm not 18 yet. Then I found this sucker that let me sell it under his account. So i figured since this guy helped me out, i'd let him have the panzer dragoon orta and a memory card that i also stole from under the neighbors christmas tree, because its the holidays and i'm all about good karma.

Since it wasn't really clear in the initial post, does Game Crazy offer cash? If so, the one I go to must be slow in the head, everytime someone walks in and tries to trade a game in for cash, all the employee says is "sorry, we only offer store credit".

Mine does. I don't know about other ones. It's a significantly less amount than store credit, though (probably stomething to the tune of 20%-25% less).
