speaking of which (baking, not double penetration, sorry) within the last 24 hours i made: home made meatballs and sauce, chilli, chilli casserole pie (basically chilli with biscuits and cheese baked on top of it), garlic biscuits, and to top it all off - chocolate pudding cream pie with an oreo crust
we talked to the guy in the paint department at lowes and he wasn't some punk teenager, he actually seemed to know what he was talking about. he said we could get the blue-tinted primer and we would still need to do 2 coats of the navy, or we could just do 3 coats of the navy without a primer since the wall is a flat white and basically the same as a white primer. this way, we only bought 1 can of paint.
Lowe's paint sucks. I've talked to professional painters and most say go with Home Depot paints. We used dark colors here and we had white walls (dark green and a dark red). Without the gray primer, it would of taken 3+ coats and still have spots where it was uneven. With the gray primer, just 1 coat covered almost everything and the color turned out fantastic.

About the gardening, I plan on planting green beans, corn, scallions, possibly tomatoes, maybe some broccolis though I don't know if it will do well, and maybe some other things. Just curious if you had any tips and/or advice. I plan on making a section of the yard just for this said garden and have a fence around it some Mr. Phalen (our dog) doesn't decide he wants to eat something. We have terrible red clay that is filled with rock and shit so I don't know how well I could grow stuff in that so I'm going to dig 2-3 feet down in the area where I want the garden and then fill it with soil and such.

Yeah, I liked PPG. That show looks interesting.

I was reading about April Fools Day and found a link the that. Pretty odd.

we've had good experiences with Lowe's paint. Home Depot has Behr paint which is supposedly good but is also very expensive. we have pigment-rich colors in the 3 rooms we've already painted and so we went with them again. i've used different primers before and have had mixed results, so we figured we'd just go with whats been working thus far.

most of those veggies aren't super picky about soil. if you like califlower, it will grow almost anywhere. i would start the seeds in plastic planters, the ones that are meant for starting seeds. i'd also get your soil tested to see if you need to add any nutrients to it. as long as you turn over the soil about 2' down and add in some peat, you should be fine. or, you can add compost. that works well too. from my experience, the most important things are the light and the water. make sure things don't roast in the sun and make sure you don't over water or you'll get root rot. start things in the starter planters for about 8-10 weeks then after Mother's Day, plant them in the ground. corn might be different, i don't have any experience with it. scallions usually do better in a pot then in the ground, i dunno why. i also prefer to do tomatos in large pots. not only are they easy to contain/ tie up, there are several fungi ruin tomato plants. if they are present in your area, your plants will start to turn brown from the bottom up, right before the fruit are ready to be picked, and you'll lose the crop. my favorite varieties of tomato are roma and grape. they produce a lot of fruit. oh yeah, cucumbers and zucchini also seem to grow well most anywhere.

So yesterday, someone called me like 14 times, and I didn't answer once. If you were said person, would you take the hint?
Woah another OTT using OTT instead of ought or oughta? Sweet...
To (sort of) CitizenB's defense, his was OTTa for "out of" instead of "ought to".

fucking dog. we took him out to play some frisbee in the snow, as he LOVES playing in it. all of a sudden, lionhart is like "is he bleeding?!" and there's blood tracked all across the lawn. apparently, the pads on his feet split/cracked/something and they're all bleeding. lionhart carried his ass (all 80 lbs) into the kitchen where we poured peroxide on his paws and proceded to wrap them in gauze and tape them up. now he's walking around like one of those horses that walk funny like they're prancing.

How much sun would be to much sun? (ie roasting as you say) I was planning on putting this garden in the backyard and the major of the backyard gets sun throughout the day and it does get hot here in the summer 100+ some days.

each packet of seeds will tell you how much and what type of sun each veggie likes. most like afternoon sun though (south-west exposure).

I think the plants will be fine. If not, I'll plant a tree so they will only get direct sun during certain hours. The Home Depot paint is about the same price as the Lowe's paint. The Olympic paint is around $16-17 while the American Tradition paints are $19-21. The HD Behr paint is around $20 or so. They often run the buy a gallon get $5 back rebates a lot too.

Anyway, I need to mark where I want my electrified barbed wire and razor wire fence to be.

Home Depot?

And about the fence, the neighbors have kids and they keep fucking coming into my yard and leaving their shit. I figured if I fortify the yard then they would learn real quick to stay on their shit hole of a property.

My dog liked beer. He was German though.

The people who lived here before left all these damn animal cages in the very back of the yard. There is a small area with barbed wire around and I wonder what they kept in it. There is like 3-4 dog like cages and a bunch of shit. I'll take pictures one day since this barbed wire area is just insane, it's like they had a horse or something. Oh well, in a few weeks it all will be gone. I just need a sledge hammer.

You can buy electric barbed wire at Home Depot? Crazy.

I have no idea wtf I am watching. Some movie just came on TBS starting with some kid in a mine shaft who found a dragon and apparently the dragons are killing everyone. WTF.

I said that once but I was in the mafi...uh nevermind.

Pros vs Joes is an awesome, awesome show. Seeing everyday people getting smashed is awesome.

You know what's funny? watching my cat kick my sister in law's german shepard's ass. Several times.

Man, what a fun weekend, overall, but that is only one of the bits I can share right now...

something similar happened when we went to my aunt's house for thanksgiving. she has a shizthu (or however you spell it) that's like 15 lbs. he barked our 80lb lab into a corner, scared shitless and shaking.

Wow. I need an animated picture of the dancing cats from Jimmy T's level in Warioware Wii for my avatar. So damn cute.

The 512MB SD card I got from a CAG is gonna be good for my Wii for a long while. Good amount of space on there.

Mario Tennis on GBA goes by really quick. I'm already in Varsity Doubles.

Oh, I saw that. I'm not participating in the discussion though. I really don't have much to add, except that I've heard altoids can add a little extra something to the experience.

Hmm. I think I'll try out Viewtiful Joe: Double Trouble. First Viewitful Joe experience...

Hopefully I can get it done by the time Jump Ultimate Stars comes in, and I'll obsess over that until Wario comes in next month.

And I still have Magical Starsign, Children of Mana, and Metroid Prime Hunters to play on DS. I'm not too thrilled about the first 2, I may sell them.

I just solved a Rubik's Cube for the first time in my life. Got one at Wal-Mart that actually included a pretty nice step by step algorithm for solving the thing. I assume it's a very rudimentary brunt force type solution, but it's pretty cool to actually be able to solve it.

I've never solved those.

I bought a Homer Simpson one a few years ago, screwed him up, and still can't fix him. :[

In fact, here's what he looks like right now.

I don't remember specifics, but I remember her saying something about "Well, why not go for double penetration?" or "Who wouldn't want double penetration?" or something like that, followed by a lot of "Do you have a clone?"

There's a picture of that thing along with a few other Rubik's products on the package. It's the only really weird licensed thing thrown in the mix.

First one, and it was because I was trying to get to a gas station before I ran out of gas.

11 over. 46 in a 35 mph zone.

He put 5 over on the ticket, though. I'm going to fight it.

All the city cares about is the money, so at least I can get the points removed.
