Looks solid to meI really hate to double post, but my new shelf came earlier than expected.
Now, I'm no Wiggy, but I'm getting there. Gotta start somewhere, right?
Sorta. I have a bin with a whole mess of them in there and they've all been neatly wrapped using velcro straps. Makes it pretty easy to find what I need, even without them being super organized. When the cords are a little ball the size of your fist, then it makes it pretty easy to pick through them and find what you want just by identifying the connectors at the endHow do you guys organize your loose cables? Seems like whenever I have to find a cord to hook something up I have to destroy my room.

Hahaha. I never stack them like that. I was in the process of moving them and, while I had them stacked, snapped a picture.I was about to say... that stack of games made me cringe.
I put my cables into zip lock bags and label them appropriately (which console it comes from). Pretty much it.How do you guys organize your loose cables? Seems like whenever I have to find a cord to hook something up I have to destroy my room.
I use the much thicker ones like you'd find already holding wires together when you buy a new electronic device. (AV cables, power cables, etc.) Those tend to have a much thicker rubber coating. And as for the wall plug, I would hope that there would be enough sense there to avoid metal-to-electricity contact. I always keep it at LEAST 6 inches away from the plugs on either end. I usually tie similar cables together. (i.e. the 2 HDMI cables going from my 360 and PS3 to my TV.) That keeps the tangling down. I like the twist ties because they're easy to remove and they're also easily adjustable. Of course, the same could be said for velcro strips, I suppose...You don't wanna use twist ties with wires/electronics, at least not the ones with the metal filament. They could easily puncture wires and/or get caught in wall plug or something. It's very unlikely, but still, no point in taking risks.
Fair enough. One of the pros of those velcro strips is that you can secure them around the wire, so it stays there even if you undo it.
thanks for this. I got so many cables, controllers especially with my retro systems and more that i went ahead and ordered this.I'm guessing he meant cable routing with a dozen devices, not for storage.

Always like seeing collections that are balanced with old/new games, rather than a 1000 modern games.Figured I'd come and share my mess/collection with you all again. Get ready for a picture onslaught, theres a lot of them as I was a bit bored. On that note some of the pictures are not the greatest, just using my iPhone so thats all I can do.

Nice, is it hard to reach the top shelves?I got more space again!
I just need a tall chair.Nice, is it hard to reach the top shelves?
Your postman must have an aching back right now.Had to purge my strategy guide collection. Pretty much took out whatever wasn't an RPG and not a collected series (eg. Resident Evil)
Needed room for my Black Friday/Cyber week/etc graphic novel spoils....

This. Definitely a great collection...but I am worried for your Xbox One!@dodgme, great collection but I wouldn't recommend stacking the xbox on top of the cable receiver, too much heat may burn the xbox out.
I know I need more room, too many components in there. Xbox One was a recent add as I had gotten rid of it for the PS4 but bought one again when a friend got one, so for the time being I just put it in the most open spot.This. Definitely a great collection...but I am worried for your Xbox One!
Damn, 16 pounds? How does 1 GB game weight? Gotta be like, 1 oz... meaning there's 250+ games in there.Still sorting. Pile of GB, GBC, GBA carts (tease and terrible photo)
16 lbs...not sure how many carts are in there.
These are all second hand buys. 95% of my 'retro' collection is non retail.
Probably...and I traded in a ton of them when amazon had those $21 TIV for loose carts. I actually have more that I haven't added to the pile and of course my boxed ones/sealed ones are not pictured. I discovered I am greatly underestimating the amount of stuff I have. I really wish I could get my collection in display condition, but it will take me years and a bigger home.Damn, 16 pounds? Sounds like meI would love to post some pics of the games' stuff I have, but I don't have shelves. I have most of my stuff inside drawers, boxes, cabinets and in the closet too lol.
