:applause: I think you have the largest GBA collection I've seen on here.

What kind of shelf is that? My GB/GBC/GBA shelf is full and I have no idea what to do about it. I don't even know why I'm asking since I don't have any room for any more shelves.
Praise from the GB/GBC master, thanks :D I've got nothing on you, though, you could just sell your Shantae and Mega Mans and probably buy this whole collection, hah.

That shelf is a Sauder O'Sullivan. I paid $30 for it from walmart.com and it's either OOS or more expensive now, but it's a fine shelf. I also use one for my PS2 games and it can house a pretty amazing number of them (around 250, I think.) You could probably squeeze seven shelves worth of GB/GBA stuff out of one of those, I only have six because the bottom two are being used for PSP games right now and so they have to be a bit farther apart. It's been a great shelf, I recommend tracking one down.
fwb, I am jealous. I only have two GBA games complete (Minish and Fire Red).

Congrats on the hardwork!
You've got to start somewhere :p A lot of these are actually just the GBA games I owned as a kid and never sold, otherwise I might not have gotten into collecting these at all.

I still need FireRed, you've got that on me, hah.
Is it okay to post milestones here? Because this isn't exactly new, but:

100_2161.jpg

100 CIB GBA games! I'll have all six of those shelves filled out before I'm totally satisfied with the collection, but this isn't so bad
Awesome collection!
That's actually the same Sauder shelf I have in my picture. It's quite nice, and cost efficient and surprisingly easy to assemble.

All of which I like. :D

It's this guy on the Big Lots website,

http://www.biglots.com/search/product/1133

But Walmart sells it too. I just can't post the link to it on Walmart site because I can never seem to get the link to work.
Do you know of any shelves that can use time/space distortions? I would be great if I could use all that empty space in some other dimension for my collection.

I actually had a similar shelf though I'm not sure if it was the same brand a long time ago (picture is from 2006) for my collection but I got rid of it due to room reorganization. Again, I don't know why I asked you because I don't have any room for it but I definitely need to do something...:whistle2:k

I'd strongly prefer cabinets so I don't have to dust as much but it's not like I have that many options.

That was a nice shelf, I've always found lighter wood shades to be more handsome for displaying games than darker shades. Makes things pop. Based on the curvature of the top and the bottom, it looks almost exactly like the model I'm using. I'll go take a pic of the shelving from the same angle you took your pic at for comparison.

Cabinets are ideal, but they're definitely more expensive. I actually had to remove the doors from all of my cabinet shelving to alleviate weight from the floor because the floorboards were beginning to sink in. My home is from the 1890s, it's not exactly in great condition, heh.

I'd love to have cabinets so I can get my games out of my basement, but with the amount of games/swag that I have, it'd be impossible to do it and still have it flow with the rest of my decor upstairs. So the games will be relegated to the mancave.

On a side note, half of the mancave is getting converted to a Lego center for my kids, so I'll be gradually posting photos of that as it grows. If they're anything like I was as a kid, it'll be enormous. Luckily for me, I still have all of my old toys from when I was a kid so it won't cost me a thing to get them started.

Anyone else have any Lego love?

What floor is your gaming room on? Mine's on the second floor and when I step on many parts of the floor, I can hear creaking noises... I'm always afraid my floors gonna give out, which would suck because my car is parked right under my room. It would be a two for one loss for me. But our house is only 15 years old so...:p

First floor for me, with the exception of bins full of cartridge games that I keep in an upstairs storage space. I'm afraid to go upstairs at my place at all, much less keep lots of valuable stuff there

I'd like to add my collection in ... but it's spread out between 4 houses ... which is bad because I have a room i can't even walk through heh. Slowly selling off some to rebuild my drag car :D
I wish there were actually more pictures of peoples gaming set ups
There's 96 pages and yeah, it is mostly discussion.

It's too bad the creator of this thread doesn't update the OP with links to people's collection. Maybe it's time for a new thread that's wikified?

I would make a new one, specifing only pictures...

...but my luck, it would me merged with this one...

...and i would get a harsh PM or post from a mod saying if I create a duplicate thread again i am gone...

Someone could make a flickr gorup (or just steal all the pics and make a CAG account and put all the pictures in there) for us too all put everything in one spot for hours of endless entertainment.

Thought I would update the collection I have with my son. We still have a shelf we need to put up for more of our swag but it's coming along nicely. The first pic is my sad attempt at a panoramic pic:

There used to be a thread of gaming setups but I can't find it. It was a fun thread because it was like Queer Eye for the Straight Gamer as people started critiquing setups and wires and feng shui.

I think we decided that it was kinda unnecessary to have two different threads for the two.

My son and I built a "man cave" in our basement. It's kind of a mess because he had a sleepover with some friends last night and they wanted to link up systems in seperate rooms. The main gaming TV is a 65" DLP 3D TV. I didn't think I'd get into the 3D gaming much but some of the games (Uncharted 3, Shadow of the Collosus) look amazing

I miss that thread. So we can post our setup in this thread now. *goes grabs a camera.*

Am I missing something with the picture frame? Or do you just have a framed cover of the Castlevania Dracula X Chronicles for PSP because you really like that version?

My (temporary) bedroom setup. I finally got around to opening one of my N64s and setting up the EverDrive this past weekend. Love it.

How do you like the everdrive?

It's mad legit, and well worth the money. I love being able to play all of my games without having to swap carts. My PS2 is similarly set up with HDAdvance and a 500GB hard drive. I also have the Super EverDrive, but I haven't tried it out yet. I imagine it works just as well.

My wife thinks I'm crazy for taking pictures of my gaming collection/setup. Then she sees what everyone else has as far as collections/setups and thinks I'm a lot less crazy and thanks me for having my collection down in the basement where it's only visible to me.

I'm in the beginning stages of tearing down my eBay space and converting it into a Lego den for my kids. It inhabits the same area of the basement as my game collection, so I'll make an attempt to chronicle the work in progress.

On a related side note, does anyone here have any solutions for Lego storage? My parents kept all of my Legos from when I was a kid and there are 7 HUGE bins full of loose parts and I'd like to see what other people have done to keep them organized. My initial idea is to get a drawer system and separate the piece by color, but my wife thinks I'm insane for attempting to try that. Any thoughts?

That'll take a looong time. I used to have one bucket of legos, and ithe smaller pieces were sorted by type. Sloped 1x2s, sloped 1x3s, etc.

Trying to organize Legos in any way is a hell of a task, but if you're going to do so, it should definitely be by size/shape because it's much easier to spot a specific color.

Anime collection is at maximum capacity finally (or close to it),
photo2ni.jpg

so started to clear out some stuff in the other room, and also shifted some stuff around, and I has more room for anime now!

Everything else in the collection is the same, so only updated the two pics that changed.

I have indeed thought about the sledgehammer route, but seems like it'd take a bit more effort than I'd be willing to put into going that route.

I think indigo_streetlight recommended this route to me awhile back, but my ceilings are garbage.

They're the slanted ones that matches the slant of the roof since I don't have an attic really. XD

lol, it should be known that I use Square as motivation to decrease the size of my collection. Sometimes you have to set boundaries for yourself and let the collection coast, only making new acquisitions when selling and trade-ins allow you to. It could very well be that Square is reaching a milestone--how will he react to the approaching critical mass? Will he sprawl further or seek to sculpt and define what he has obtained up to this point?
