Get to work! :D
Here's kind of a strange question. Does anyone know of a display stand I could use to prop up a single game (with a DVD or Blu-ray size case)?
Usually trading card stores will have something like that.

I worked at a used CD & Game store for years. We had these cool little plastic props to display new releases with. I had about a dozen of them at one point, but I think they may have been tossed out last time I moved :/
Yep, that's exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for. I'd like to separately display one game at a time, sort of like a "now playing" feature.
I bought something like that years ago at Walmart. Can't remember if it was where the frames are or in the arts & craft section, but it is a simple wire frame stand that was intended for a picture or plate. I used it as a desk stand for my psp to watch movies. Which I never did.

I'm sure you could find something simple and cheap at Target or a craft store, too.

Are you looking for a particular style? As mentioned, you could use a small stand for a picture frame or plate. Or you could go all out and get something fancy like this:

Of course, something like this would be a bit more practical:

Or you could just make something yourself:

Man, I've been trolling around this forum for about 2 years now. I'm beginning to feel like I should post a picture or 2....
Do iiiiiiiit. I am going to post photos of my new place soon. It's fun to hear what people halfway across the country think of your stuff.
Yeah, it is fun. It's much better than hearing what people halfway across the country think of your mom. Those jerks...
For anyone who doesn't know what those are, they're the Dead Space Ultra Limited Editions (only 1000 made). New copies sell for about $1000-1200 each.

And I have to ask, how did you manage to get so many of them?
I've always wanted a copy of the Ultra edition. I'm truly jealous of this picture and I'm usually never jealous on these boards. Props to him

I remember being on the order page for the Dead Space UE and debating whether to buy it. I decided against it because it was a new IP and didnt think it'd do well. Needless to say, I regret it because not only did it do well, it was my 2nd favorite game of the year (Fallout 3 being #1).

I want a UE for my collection but I am waay to jewish to be spending that much on a single game.
Bought two of these shelves for under $200 shipped (B1G1 50% off, 5% and free shipping from Red Card). Ordered on Sunday, got them today.

It replaced two cheap $30 shelves that were busted up. These are supposedly wood, and not particle board. Each shelf holds up to 75lbs, which is about how much each shelf of guides weigh.
Yeah I had a TV stand from that same collection. It is basically Particle Board, painted a glossed over. If it isn't exactly Particle Board, then it is the tiniest step above that, lol.

Pretty much any shelving that you buy at places like Wal-Mart, Target, Ikea, etc is gonna be chip board, particle board, MDF, or some other manufactured wood product :/

Making your own or paying out the ass is sort of the only way to get actual wood shelving these days (for the most part) :(

No, this one has least wood laminate / plywood. It's definitely not particle board. I know cause one shelf has a small chunk missing from shipping.

The Oskar ones aren't too bad. I add a couple of "T" brackets to make them more ridged and they hold up pretty well. They don't have much weight on them though and the shorter shelves prevent bowing.

I'm going to have to go with real wood/short shelves for my guides though.

Hooray for shelves!

Just two chairs in the corner there now, but we're getting a new couch for the living room, and moving the old one in here.

Containers here have my loose snes/n64/genesis games, controllers, and a few NES games.

Does anyone know where I can get cheap display stands for single DVDs/games? I have quite a few that are signed and I'd like to display them. I found this but they're $4 a piece http://www.designacrylics.co.uk/acrylic-dvd-cd-pc-game-display-stand-558-p.asp

That's one of the cheaper things you'll be able to find. You can look out for wood or wire plate stands, but they cost almost as much and they're usually kinda ugly. But if you don't mind using them, you can find them at your local Walmart/Target and maybe even at a dollar store.
I can honestly say I've never had even the faintest desire to buy a sports game :V
Feel lucky. I went years without them, and now my buddies have goten me hooked on the 2K series.

There was a lot of great stuff in those pics, sptanor, but the one that stood out to me, like really stood out, was the DW poster. That is freaking awesome.
Candle? I'm confus..
This is what happens when you have multiple tabs open and swap your responses. My friend is wondering why I asked him "Where he got that bag with the Sly logo?"... :whistle2:/

Here's most of my game collection, housed in one of those clearanced cabinets from Best Buy.

And some more of my games, along with my entire comic book collection. Some games not shown, mainly a bunch of cart only GBA games.
IMG_1141.jpg

I bought a bunch of cheap common and/or less than great PS2 games at a local pawn shop early this week since they were complete and I'm wondering if I should even keep them. Ex. Casper, Ford Racing, etc.

Art books. Would really like to get more soon.
IMG_0987.jpg

Outdated pictures of my manga, missing a lot of stuff. All of it's in boxes now since I have no room for it.

Very nice collection. Your .hack 4 looks lonely though... especially with the GU series staring it down.

On a related note, I thought CAG had an automatic picture re-sizing feature...? It's hard to see most of those pictures.

I know. I've been waiting to get the others for $10 or less each but it hasn't happened yet.
Picked up 4 and G.U. 1 and 2 from the GoHastings $5 PS2 games sale when I didn't have a ton of money and figured I'd just get the rarer stuff. I actually picked up G.U. 3 earlier this week from Gamestop, so it was nice to get that before posting pictures.

It resized them before. Not sure why it's not working now.

On a side note, I'm proud that I've amassed almost my entire collection in less than a year and a half
Vinny!

I promised nothing!

Damn, the fact that you were actually able to get anything good from that GH sale is amazing... I couldn't even get the site to load when the sale went live.

I think I was probably the first one to order anything. I had the games in my cart and set an alert so I checked out the second after it went off. And then I made a post that the sale was working on all PS2 games instead of just the cheap ones to stop the temptation of ordering more for myself.

The carpet on the second floor is beginning to accumulate wrinkles, so I'm getting it stretched on Saturday.

Of course that means I have a majority of things downstairs including my collection.

I have to say I never really realized how much stuff I actually had until everything was put into a smaller space instead of spread across two rooms.

What a huge pain in the ass it has been moving all the stuff downstairs though. T____T

Still have like 5 shelves to move downstairs, but almost there. I've given up moving stuff downstairs for the day so here's what everything looks like downstairs now.

I'm pretty sure in Greek mythology there was a guy in the underworld who was punished by moving an anime collection from one floor to another.

God, I can't imagine having to move all that stuff once, let alone the two times that you're gonna end up doing so :/

I made my last ghetto shelving upgrade the other day. I've got 40 cart games to case up, and that's pretty much gonna force me to make the new shelves.

I've got an excuse this week, Squarehard. Fever of 102° and a wicked cough to go with it. So no sass from you today :p

I like to do so as well (notice that every time I post pics that shit has moved ;) ), but moving all that JUST to have to move it back to the same spot sounds tedious and time consuming :(
