Zelda Four Swords

I just ordered this game and have noticed some talking about needing other items to play multi player. Can this game be played alone without it ? Any opinions on this game? I also ordered a strategy guide. Hope I actually needed it! Thanks

It was a fun game I picked up a while ago, I believe you need GBA's to do multiplayer, as it came with a link when it first came out, but single player requires no extras.

I don't think you really need a strategy guide for it, as you don't keep everything from each level, ie. special weapons and heart pieces, but some items are harder to find in certain levels.

You will need a GBA per person when playing multiplayer (yes even the first player needs one), and you will also need one link cable per person.

For single player you can use either a GBA or a GC controller to control the action (it is your choice).

When I say GBA above, I mean either the original GBA or the SP, it doesn't matter.

How about two player? I hear a lot of people knock single player, but do you need four players for this (or FF:CC) to be enjoyed to its full potential?

No. Even two players is enough to get some enjoyment out of multiplayer. I'll admit it's much better with more people, but racing to collect the most power gems or randomly attacking or tossing each other off a cliff is great fun too.

I'm one of the minority who thought single player was enjoyable, but I love Zelda games, so maybe it's just me. Now FF:CC on the other hand...well...just don't play unless you have four people. And even then...meh...
