Zelda - Link to the Past now available on the VC Channel - 800 points
This game REALLY deserves its own thread. Zelda LTTP is not available for download. 800 points.
It's not available? Heh heh. This is great news though!
Wow! Could it be Nitnendo finally got it's head out of it's ass?!

Nah....
Nope...it's the ONLY game we get this week.
Nope...it's the ONLY game we get this week.
Bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch, bitch. I highly doubt you can download and beat this game in a week anyway and if so, maybe you are playing too many video games.

Yea, I know... first there were the people bitching we get no AAA games, now people are bitching we got an AAA game but it's only one game?

The alternative to this, that was previously announced, was a bunch of shitty Genesis games you can find cheaper on PS2 / Xbox. You'd rather have that?

People who bitch about this really need to shut the fuck up. I mean, they complain about only getting crappy games, then one of the greatest games of all time gets put on the VC and they bitch because 2 shitty games didn't get put up with it.

Pretty much ANY game would have paled in comparison to LTTP. I know I wouldn't want any of my games put up at the same time. It's a smart move to only put this game up.

My god...

Wasn't it last week when Nintendo didn't release any game?

I thought Nintendo said there would be 5 games a week (including third parties)? Whatever happened to that?

And it's not the point if you can beat it in a week, which you can, but the fact Nintendo isn't giving us opinions. This and Mario (which everyone on Earth has played) are the only two Nintendo games worth playing. It's been two months since launch and we got two good games. At this rate it will take about 10 years for Nitnendo to release it's good games.

i have been bitching because Nintendo thought it was more important to have Baseball and Pinball then say DKC. It's not like the Wii has a ton of titles coming out for it, the VC should be filling in the gaps between the once a month Wii games.

well, seeing as who's bitching, it doesn't come as any surprise that they would complain about LttP.

jeez, overexaagerate much?

by the way, they won't release everything good at once. try to understand the business model perspective of VC and you won't be so distraught and disturbed every release week.

And if Nintendo put out every great VC game in the first few months you would be bitching that they blew their load all at once. You can't deny that they have a great library available already and it wouldn't be an impossible argument to say that the VC is already as good as the XBox Live Arcade.

like someone up there said, bitch bitch bitch bitch, it's LttP!!! now quit complaining that theres not some stupid comic book game up and enjoy your 480p sword swinging masterpiece.:D :D :D

Nice! Of course, $8 (or 800 points, if you will) is exactly what I paid for the GBA version of it during last year's CC clearance.

New sig quote. I want to thank the grousers who made this all possible. Your "glass half empty" approach to life pleases me greatly.
The alternative to this, that was previously announced, was a bunch of shitty Genesis games you can find cheaper on PS2 / Xbox. You'd rather have that?
Firstly, the Genesis Games are on PS2 and PSP, not Xbox. Secondly there are a few great games on it and I'd much rather have it. Plus since I've seen it for $10, a few great games and 2 dozen shitty games for $10 is far better than 1 great game for $8.

I'll probably bite on this even though I have the SNES ROM. At least I won't have to keep digging it out when I want to play. $8 is pretty reasonable, they could've charged a bit more and probably gotten it.

I don't get all the bitching.

I see that while I wrote my reply, about 10 people beat me to it.

Anyway, you're gonna be playing this system for the next 5 years or so. Have some patience.

I'm passing on this and pretty much all VC games. I was suckered into buying it for the GBA - I refuse to pay ofr it again. Plus, I know that game so well I could probably beat it in an afternoon. It only takes about 30 minutes per dungeon with no rushing if you know where everything is...

Uh... what? I was saying that the Sega Genesis Collection is a much better deal than buying them seperately on the VC, espicially when it's the shittiest ones from the collection showing up on the VC (like Bonanza Bros...).

Originally Sega had Comix Zone, Gain Ground, and Bonaza Bros scheduled for today. I was saying LttP is much better than getting those three games since those three games can be found cheaper than you'd buy them for on the VC.

I sold it off a while ago after getting it from the CC clearance. Haven't played it yet. So as soon as I get this, it will be my first LttP experience.

Agreed, theres no reason to bitch this week, this game is certainly well off on its own. It's a definite purchase for me.

I'm grabbing it...its not on the Collector's Disc and I've only played through it once on the GBA. Not to mention its definitely worth $8.
Honestly, who has yet to play this game before?
I have not beaten it yet

I think that I beat it, but I honestly cannot remember, it's been so long.

Just for the record, while a fantastic title, the game can be beaten quickly.

http://www.gamespot.com/snes/rpg/legendofzeldaalinkttp/video_player.html?id=cHQ7kzL_5bkNvj7Y

I've personally beaten the game with every item and most heart pieces in about 3.5 hours (I got lucky at the digging and chest games and got the pieces the first try, and I've played through the game several times over the years so I knew where everything is).

Even if a person only played for an hour a day, it can still be beaten really fast, unless they suck badly at the game -- But I think thats where you were going, right? Misinterpreting posts on the internet FTW!

done and done!

I'm sorry I don't think 1 good game a month is a good plan.

They can do one good game (Zelda) and one bad game (Pinball) a week for the first few weeks. They can release them faster in the beginnnig because there are less Wii games. Towards the end of this year there should be a lot of great Wii games so they can release the crap games then, or even less VC games then, not now. Plus after the release a lot of good games than the store would be more full and that would be better for shopping. Plus Nintendo said they want to make new games for teh VC so after a few dozen Nintendogames are leased they can release new ones. There are a lot of opinions Nintendo can do, but one game a month is not doing it for me. Further more it pisses me off that Japan gets DKC and Mario Kart when we get fucked over once again.

You need to download some of the TG16 games...Soldier Blade's the shit

Just chiming in with praise for LTTP. It's my favorite Zelda game, I've beaten it countless times, and it never gets old. Definitely a must-have!
You need to download some of the TG16 games...Soldier Blade's the shit
but so fucking hard. :[

That's what makes it great!

I never beat LTTP btw...I remember getting stuck on it in 93', never went back to play it again, so I'm probably going to download this
is the GBA game better?
The only difference between the GBA version and SNES version is a slight change in one of the dungeons and Link whines like a little bitch everytime you lash his word. SNES Version FTW!
There is bitching in this thread?

What in the hell for?
Great question. And this has the SNES controller layout and NOT the GBA one, right?

Good thinking Nintendo. Put a game out that was on gba and even younger generations have already played rather than putting out supermario rpg.
Great move, Great move.
Weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, what the hell are they trying to do release a bunch of good VC games the week Halo 3 comes out?

I'm fortunate enough to have my SNES still hooked up to my TV, so I've been having a good time revisiting LttP for a while now. No downloading for me, but if you haven't ever played this do yourself and get it. Best $8 you'll spend this year so far.
