The idiot: Me, buying both game and guide and never playing it..until now

I have many gaming sins, and this is one of them that I regret the most. I like Zelda. I loved the GBA (one of the best systems ever IMO). Everything about this game I had seen in the previews looked interesting. But I never gave it any time.

So I thought I would chronicle the adventures of my first playthrough in a journal. Even if no one is interested, this should keep me engaged and add an element to my playthrough for myself at least. Enough talk though, I have been waiting seven years for this..

Huzzah! It has been a long time coming. Here is the obligatory legend:

Then comes a rather uncomfortable scene when Zelda comes by to take Link to the Festival, only to be affronted by the Master Swordsmith..

Not only did he wear out poor ol' Link the night before, he is coming onto Zelda the very next morning. Thankfully, Link would arise and quickly escort the Princess out of harm's way and onto the Festival. But first, payment for last night..

With that useful info above and a new shield in tow, Link is ready to take on the world. Until Zelda brings him down a notch, that is.

Ouch..tough to recover from that. The only thing left to do in times like these is remember your mission at hand Link. But not tonight. I need a break.

I just wanted to get the game in motion. I will be updating more tomorrow and throughout my playthrough.

Holy crap it crazy that you just posted this because I literally just beat the Minish Cap for the first time today. I must say it was a damn fun game. I loved every second of it!

Glad that more people will enjoy this with their ambassador games. I will have to replay it some time. I loved it and remember being home sick from work and beating it.

Yanksfan- are you playing the gba cartridge or on the 3ds? Did you capture the screenshots?

I am actually playing it on my PSP so I can capture the screenshots easily. I just put custom firmware on it for the screenshot capabilities but when I was looking through my bin of games, I realized I didn't feel like playing any of them right now. I did however come across Minish Cap and my inspiration struck.

Anyhow, I have advanced through the first dungeon and have more journal updates to post once I get a bit of free time to extract and post them.

After receiving his pathetically small shield from Zelda..

On our way, the Master Smith tries to come onto Zelda again. It seems as if the point of the game so far is to merely thwart his advances..

After finally sneaking the princess past and to her castle, we are greeted with the following scenes:

The bastard won the sword competition just to seek this 'force' and has turned our fair Zelda to stone in the process. Link would gather with his Master Smith, along with the King's counsel to discuss what needs to come next.

So we need to journey to the Minish village to see if they can reforge the sacred blade. It seems this is the only to restore Zelda back to normal. Of course, Link is chosen to be the best man for the job and departs with great haste. Upon entering the forest, he quickly comes across a helpless creature being battered..

And with that, the power of the Minish reveals itself..to shrink Link down to their size!

Ah, of course. 'The Catch'. There is always one. So before the Minish can restore the blade, we need to claim four different elements. Presumably, there will be four dungeons that house these different elements and various tools that will need to be claimed to help complete my quest. Where do we go from here? Why, north my good man. To the Deepwood Shrine!

So that is where I am currently. I have pushed many statues, pulled many levers and collected many keys. I acquired my first tool, the Gust Jar, which allows me to suck items in and fling them back. A useful tool for the nights back home with the Master Smith, I bet.
