Zelda TP Collector Box $39.99 @ Target B&M
Only 7,000 made? That seems strange considering mine had at least a dozen.
i was thinking about this the other day also. if you consider that it's #1 a target exclusive, and #2 not all targets are getting them, and #3 supposedly the targets that get them are getting 20 of them. then you figure that there are only 350 target stores selling them, period. then you figure that there are maybe 175 million people in urban america, that means one target per 500k urban population. so dallas has like 6 or 8 mil around the metroplex, that means 12-14 targets that carry it. sounds about right.

Assuming that the guy on ebay who said only 7,000 were made didn't just pull that figure out of his butt. We don't have any other confirmation of that, do we?

Have I mentioned why I love banpeikun?

No?

Well rest assured this is one of the reasons.

My local Target had like a dozen of these hanging on the pegs today and I thought of picking one up...then the thought passed.
Does anyone have pictures of it outside the box? I'm kind of curious to see what it looks like, since I can't open mine yet...
Thanks! For those of you actually taking them out the box, how are you going to display them? Most Master Replicas pieces have a display stand or case of some kind, but this just seems to have the box that it comes in, and I'm not sure if that would look good sitting up on a shelf.

I'm trying to figure that out actually. I would like to hang the sword and shield on the wall somehow. Ideas appreciated!

Thanks for everyone who has taken pictures of their set.

I am going to have to hit up a couple Targets soon for this. I want to get it as a Christmas present for a friend of mine.

I was in 3 Targets today looking for Wii accessories and saw many of these at all 3. Was there some hint that these were limited from any official source? I was hoping to wait to get one on clearance .

Edit - OK, I've read through the thread. Damn, now I need to go back and get one. What sucks is that I could have gotten one a few hours ago when I was out and wasn't planning to go to Target again. With Target's 90 day return policy I can always pick one up now and if they go on clearance just return the full price one. If anyone is having trouble finding them let me know - I can probably pick up as many as needed (one store had at least 6, and another that many or more).

I'm still a bit iffy about picking this up. A Target store near me (San Jose at Landess/Morrill) had eight in stock as of last night (along with three of the limited Star Wars Imperial Shuttles - man that is a big box!). If anyone is interested, they are located at the same endcap as the Tony Hawk Birdhouse Decks, a ways from the video game section.

I was at my target late last night and saw at least 2 dozen of these. Limited edition? maybe not. I didnt bother price checking it, my bet is they had a initial limited run to see how many people would bite before they brought out the "lost box".

I saw at the Target near me there was a new "exclusive" item for sale on the rack where the Zelda's were. I thought they had sold them all but then I found they had just moved the 5 they had left into the electronics dept. If they last long enough to hit the clearance bin I might pick one up.

Which is now.

Someone in the Target Clearance thread reported finding these for 33.XX already, on clearance.

That would be the only way you could do it.

I say about 14 of these at my local Target, all stickered at $33.98. I'll probably get it once it drops to $19.98 and under if it survives that long.
So if I have the receipt, I can go back and get a price adjustment right?
No, they won't adjust back to clearance prices.

You'd have to find a new one, buy it, then return it under the old receipt.

im having second thoughts about keeping this collectors box.... is it really worth $40 and what should i do with it besides let it sit there and collect dust?

That is what keeps me hesitating from buying it. I want it just to have it, but it serves no purpose whatsoever.

Yah it's a tough call for sure. I got it for Christmas cause I like collectable things (although I open them up most times cause I like opening things too). But when I saw that he soundtrack was so little, and the same as what was being offered to renew my NP sub+get a guide... well I hope my Target has some clearanced to make the purchase a bit easier.

Wow, that soon, eh? I was expecting that in Jan or so. Well, tonight my full-priced one goes back. I know I saw this in stores just a few days ago (not clearance marked at that point). I'll pick up a clearance one tonight and then rinse and repeat if they drop again ;).

I guess the Targets near me are extra nice since I have gotten credit back on multiple clearance items just by bringing in my old receipt (even if the no longer have the item in stock due to it being sold or transfer to another store). I remember getting credit back 3 times on a painting since they continue to slash the price every other week or so. I think I paid $89 for it originally. In the end, I end up paying about $5 which was really cool (at least for me). I'm sure the people higher up at Target must hate me. The employees didn't give me a hard time or anything like that which was shocking (they didn't even resist). I wouldn't have put up a fight if they said no since they probably didn't have to do the adjustment in the first place.

I saw about 5 of these marked down to about $27.00 when I scored my Wii this afternoon. I hope they stay and the price keeps dropping!
Sorry, but I have a really hard time believing only 7000.
Am I alone?
I don't know. Someone earlier ran some rough figures and 7000 sounds like it could be close. Not all Targets got these and the ones that did got around 20 and that was it. I just think that the price point was way to high. Judging by this thread, which is a sample of gamers across the country, people would be willing to pay between $10 - $20 for them.
Only 7000?
That is the rumor but it has yet to be confirmed. I know those were part of the limited items Target was selling for Christmas (weren't there new items every week or something line that?)

i was just gonna get the thing for ebay..but even then, there was barely a profit..i dont think there is now though..but i havent checked either

Wathc this set will become like that Monopoly/ Yatzee game for the DS rare as hell. Then in a year or so we'll all be kicking ourselves taht we didn't buy it. That would be my luck.

Maybe not in a year, but when the next Zelda is release. People will pay crazy prices for things that they won't open. I now refuse to buy things I can't actually use for anything.

My Target had them on an endcap in the electronics dept. The Zelda's were on top on peg hooks and below them were the discounted Tony Hawk Project 8 game/skateboard combos. I haven't been able to get back to my Target to see if they've discounted them any further.
