Zelda: Twilight Princess new release date...WTF??!!!
Hillarious.

So the last game I bought for my Gamecube was RE4, which came out in what? January or Feb of last year? *scratchs head* So It's been a YEAR since I bought a new gamecube game. I almost bought Sonic Gems, until I saw a price drop to $19.99 and figured I could get it even cheaper.

Harvest Moons looks to be a nice title, but I'm still ok with the last version I bought.

There's a whopping 13 titles on EBgames listed for the Cube this year. Think I'll snag Odama for full price? Nah.

Nintendo really dropped the ball with the Cube. They gave up on it pretty much for this year, although I'll have to pick up Fire Emblem and Battalian Wars someday, I'll admit that.

Edit: Damn sorry I went into a rant there. I guess my point is I won't pick up Zelda on release, because if they are going to delay it, and keep delaying it , I misewell get it with the revolution to grab It's extra features. So it will be a good near a year and a half and I might not be purchasing one Cube game. Way to go Nintendo.
This is what gets me the most too.

Its not that Zelda is delayed, its that the Cube is dead in the water. Chibi Robo and Odama will drop price like a brick, and what else is there for the year?

Absolutely nothing. At least the original Xbox still gets some sort of support from 3rd parties, Gamecube gets nothing.
I just hope all the ink doesn't wear off my preorder sheet from GameRush, and they disavow any knowledge of me preordering it.
Yeah, I have to ask them for a new copy of the receipt pretty soon. I haven't had mine on order for as long as io, but long enough for it to fade pretty badly (about 6 months)

got another email from bestbuy.com today saying that the new date is 04/01/06. Don't understand why they are screwing up all of the sudden.
We are so spoiled with Zelda games it's not even funny. Between 1993 and 1998 there were ZERO Zelda games. In the last 5 years we've gotten more than I can count. Waiting until November or later is no big deal.
Quoted for TRUTH.
Remember, people, that just about EVERY Zelda game has had these delays. Zelda 3 SNES, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker -- all were at least a year or two behind the original estimated release date. Nintendo can only put out a Zelda game in a timely manner when Capcom is doing the development (Oracle of Ages/Seasons, Minish Cap).

You know what they* say:
Give them an inch, they take a yard. Give them a yard, they take a mile.

We've gotten a ton of Zelda games all right... I remember the infuriating delays for OoT but the final product was DAMN WORTH IT. If Nintendo thinks they can make the game better and longer with more development time, then I'm all for it. As far as I see it, if you ONLY have a GC then yes, this is a rather upsetting case. But if you have other systems, I doubt you have nothing else you can play.

*I have no idea who 'they' are.

Best Buy sent out another email changing the release date to 4/1.

From kotaku:

"On February 12th, retail giant Best Buy sent Kotakuite Frank an email informing that the heavily anticipated The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess had been delayed. Instead of the original April release, the game would be out November 1st wrote Best Buy.

Today, Best Buy contacted Frank once again with the news that the game had *yet* another new release date: April 1st. For those keeping score, that was the original drop date. The email reads:

Qty Product Description

1 The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess-Nintendo GameCube

Status: Pre-order release date is 04/01/2006.

Is this some kind of bad April Fool’s Joke or just a big, stupid Best Buy mistake? "

Also, Best Buy's website has updated.

*edit* Already posted above. Mea culpa.

1) "GCN"? What the hell does that stand for?

2) There have been so many Zelda games over the past couple years that I couldn't even play them all.

3) This Zelda game will be released before the Revolution for the GameCube. Then, at the Revolution launch, Nintendo will graciously offer a special edition SKU tweaked just for the Rev so they can milk double the cash out of consumers (again).
I heard that this game is coming out the same day as Duke Nukem Forever.
Hahahha. Ha.

Because a 10+ year-in-development game is the same as one announced at the MOST 1.5 years ago?

got yet another bestbuy.com email today and this one is classic

The new release date is 01/01/2500

seems that we will never get our hands on this game and best buy knows it too lol

damn my parents!!! if only they had sex like 490 years later in order to conceive me, then i might of had a chance to play the game!! oh well, i wonder what tomorrow's bestbuy.com email will say

The interesting thing about the Gamecube is that there are 10+ games i will buy immediately if they become Players Choice($20) titles.
Although there won't be alot of new releases i think the catalog that nintendo has can spur sales of some games assuming they lower the prices.

Some of the games i reffering to are:

Mario Party 5,6 & 7
Mario Power Tennis
Mario superstar baseball
Donkey kong jungle beat
Donky Konga 2
Battalion wars
etc....

I'm sure I'm alone here, but I'm actually happy if this is the case.

It'll be out just in time for my birthday, which means I don't have to buy it!

As much as I hate to say it, I think this is the better move for Nintendo so long as it can be played on the Gamecube and has Revolution functionality. Because Zelda w/o Revolution functionality will not be as useful moving Revolution consoles.

Good things come to those who wait, and based on how long we've waited, this game will be among the Best. In. History.

Since TP got delayed until this fall, my guess is that it will have a sticker (or something like that) on the box that says "Plays on the Nintendo Revolution".

Wow 500 years of development time. It's going to be the longest game ever.
