Zen or iPod

Ok, so everyone's talking about the zune/iPod but I don't want the zune, i'd really like to know how the 30gb Zen Vision:M and the 30gb iPod Video compare with eachother and if you guys have any opnions on which is better/why, i'd appreciate it. Thanks.

:bouncy: :bouncy:  :applause:

it is drag and drop way better than itunes, and if I had to choose between Ipod and Zen like I did last month, i would still buy the zen, but i chose neither then, because i found an mp3 player that is way better for my needs, it is called the wolverine mvp and it has way more features then the ipod and zens, the only thing that os really missing is a clock, and the fact that it wont play earlier versions of divx movies, but it comes with a converter for those, the last bad thing is the size and color(for some people, i like the color) its bigger then an ipod, but it still fits in your single hand and in a pocket, so id say I made the right choice by choosing the wolverine mvp.:D

Don't get me wrong I'm not an Apple fan in the least, but I love my Ipod. It's been perfect for everything I've wanted it for; for the past year. My main purpose for it was to take it to the gym and out running, and also to watch movies and T.V. shows on long car rides. There are tons of accesories out for the Ipod so the DLO Action Jacket was perfect for the gym and for when I wanted to go out running. Also I just got a simple converter program to convert my movies to Ipod. That being said, you may be just as happy with an Ipod as with a Zen. However most CAGs seem to prefer the Zen. I've never touched a Zen but I say think about what you'll be using it for and if you'll be using it for work-out purposes go with the Ipod and if your gonna use it for Media purposes (video, audio) go with the Zen.

I can't fathom how people could possibly say that "Drap and Drop" is better than auto-updating with playlists. Drag and drop sucks for MP3 players.

All these threads should boil down to 1 question..

Do you like iTunes? If you do, get an iPod. If you don't get something else.

It's not about "being an MP3 player rebel" (seriously? WTF!). It about interface.

That said. If you happen to use an MP3 player to work-out, get an iPod shuffle.

What sold myself, and probably the rest of us who settled on the Zen, was the price tag ($100 less than the iPod Video).

Like I said, the iPod does everything well and is as sleek as consumer electronics get. The cheapass in me just couldn't rationalize spending close to $100 more for the iPod. I love how thin the iPod is and the amount of accessories available for it, but at the end of the day I just couldn't pony up the extra money for the iPod.

whats the point of itunes, auto updating, theres no point, so what u have to drag and drop, but that way its easier to manage, and ive used the zen the ipod and many more and the best for features and storage along with audio video and picture formats is the wolverine mvp, not to mention it comes with the accessories that the other companies make you buy seperately

I have had my ZEN:M for 2 years and people who own ipods and zunes will use it and say they regret that they didn't get one.

- Pros
Most AVI formats supported (if not then just convert it)
Easy sleek interface
Bass boost
Build it FM radio
And a much larger screen and color ratio per pixel than Ipod or Zune

- Cons
Charging takes time to do (especially when totally dead)
Battery can vary and it is kind of heavy (being that the backing is metal clad)

but IMO it's well worth the price tag.
and i am sorry for the misconseption, it does need software to recognise the player, but it is still drag and drop
I get the feeling that you work for the company and are spamming our forums with your advertising BS. :spam:

I am openly and Apple fan and I love my 80 gb video ipod. I had my first ipod over three years (it was the 3g 40gb ipod with the 4 buttons AND the clickwheel) and never had a single problem with it.

For 330 bucks, I absolutely couldn't go wrong with the 80gb ipod....it was just about the easiest purchasing decision I've made recently...

thats because thats my website, u dont here me talking about it except for now, but i had a reason, because u said to make 1 without .com

I've never owned an MP3 player, is the the Creative Zen: Nano Plus a good MP3 player for beginners and people not really technically advanced like me?
IM AM NOT ANY PIECE OF SHIT SPAMMING RETARD, AND IF U THINK I AM THEN fuck U:bomb:
Please.... take your website, wolverine, and mental retardation elsewhere.

For some reason this is the only thread you've ever posted in... and are awfully defensive about your product there... hmm... :whistle2:k

As mp3 players go for a first timer I would reccomend an iPod because its simple to use and since it's so popular it has tons of support so if you ever have a problem then you'll most likely have it taken care of. But I dont know about Creative Zen, so someone else is gonna have to answer that for you.

ok, first off, the wolverine is awsome, but it does not have anything to do with my website, and my website is not even finished yet, and its not the only thread ive posted on, u should do research before you say things dumb ass, plus how am i retarded, look at u, u think im advertising when i have not even talked about my website, and ive actually used most mp3 players, so id stfu about the wolverine mvp unless uve actually used it, because it beats archos zen ipod zune and almost all others

Funny, you've only posted in mp3 player threads, 2 to be exact, so maybe I should have refrased that.

But even for a n00b you are especially annoying, and since you are a new arrival I'd "stfu" before you join the ranks of jpod, Dave85, and others.

Seriously... ? uhh... just get a Creative Zen: Nano Plus or something that doesn't use proprietary software. Make sure it says Drag n Drop or no software where you use an iTune type interface. Next get something small like 512mb so you know where all your music is. If you know how to transfer a file much less use a PC then you can't screw up Drag 'n Drop and a simple mp3 player. As for the content I'm assuming you don't have a lot in the first place since you said your not that "technically enriched" for the lack of a better word. I also assume most of your music is on CDs which you'll need to "rip" music so you'll need a program like Db Power amp (non-pay old version) or :sigh: people like WMP for some odd reason too. Actually hell, I'd reccommend Music match before I'd recommend WMP. xD

Anyway, I think that about covers it. Have fun.

Calm down with the hostility towards PrimalArena. I thought he was a spammer, but his site doesn't even have any mp3 player related stuff or much of anything right now.

PrimalArena, if would probably be best if you could make another sn, and just have your website as a link in your signature. People won't give you crap that way.

nah ill stick with it, and if some retard thinks that im advertising and what im talking about has nothing to do with my website, im fine with that, who cares what they think, and is that L from death note or does the L symbalize loser.
