Zombieland Nut Up or Shut Up Blu Ray found at Target EXTREME YMMV

I am 99% sure this was a return from Best Buy to a Target store, but I guess it's possible it was a shipping error or other stores will get this version too.

Today at Target I found a Zombieland Nut Up or Shut Up Edition blu ray on the racks with the other movies. There was one Nut Up edition and the other Zombielands were normal versions. It doesn't have the "Best Buy Exclusive" sticker on the front so it looks like someone had an extra and just returned it to target or something.

I am assuming that this was a shipping error or a customer return, but who knows. The UPC on the Nut Up edition was the same as the normal versions. Rang up at $29.99.

This should be in the bragging rights forums as there is absolutely no way this "deal" could be reproduced at any other Target. But congrats on finding a copy all the same.

Ummmm, so what's the point of this thread? Really, I would like to know.
Is it really that difficult to figure out? If someone is still looking for this version, check Target. There's a slim chance that they're getting this version shipped to them by accident.

I mean, I know this version is supposed to be "rare", but like you said OP, this is extreme YMMV, and it's not like it's a sale or anything, so I'm also not sure how thread-worthy this was either.

definitely not YMMV, it's YMWV :p

loved the movie, so I guess I'll swing by Best Buy to see if they have any leftover Nut up or Shut up copies, if they're that valuable

I went on release day and the clerk said they only released the Nut up or Shut Up edition for DVD, not BluRay, so I ended up getting the regular BRD version.

I severely doubt shipping error it came from a customer return plain and simple, this thread shouldn't be labeled Ymmv as your probably the only one that's ever going to find it there and it's not even remotely a deal at MSRP.

pretty obvious...it got returned there somehow.

Not sure if the UPC is the same or not (if so, easy explanation), otherwise the return clerk was lazy and keyed in the inventory number (assuming it just wouldn't scan).
Its a freakin bonus DVD with 20 minutes of lame special features. Yawn.
It's an amazing 27 minutes and 30 seconds! That extra 7 minutes and 30 seconds make all the difference...

Best Buy Exclusive Bonus Disc
The Best Buy Exclusive bonus disc (a standard-def DVD) contains two featurettes. The first one, "Shootin' Zombies with Ruben Fleischer" (20:04) focuses on the making of that kick-ass opening credit sequence, and aspiring filmmakers and/or techno-geeks should eat up the opportunity to learn about the cameras, lenses, and lighting that Fleischer used. The absolute highlight of the whole piece is the tests that Fleischer excitedly recorded on the first day he had the camera -- i.e., footage of the director slapping himself in the face to see what it would look like in slow motion, which is both hilarious and fascinating to watch. The extra continues with Fleischer basically giving audio commentary over several unused takes for the sequence, which include zombies getting punched and shot, as well as a stunt man taking a serious tumble down a flight of concrete stairs. Like Fleischer says in the featurette, I could watch this stuff all day. Not only is it great material, but hearing Fleischer enthuse about them with the knowledge that he's said he's "excited" to shoot the planned Zombieland sequel in 3D is more than enough to send anyone's hopes skyrocketing; even people sick of the format can see both his professional and personal investment in exploring what he can do with the equipment he's given.
The second featurette, "Behind the Scenes with the Cast and Crew of Zombieland" (7:26), is the dreaded EPK that I was expecting to see on the Blu-Ray proper, but thankfully (I guess), the piece is merely mediocre.
The only major disappointment with all of these bonus features is that not one of them has any material relating to the movie's big surprise cameo. Not only did Eisenberg mention some alternate takes of one of the scenes in an interview (I thought he mentioned it in the AICN interview, but he didn't, and now I can't find the right one), but there are no outtakes, which seems like it'd be a given (Smokin' Aces 2 has outtakes, but not this?). Eisenberg has also referenced a character deleted from the movie (an OnStar representative), and the second featurette on the Blu-Ray shows the filming of a bit not included in the deleted scenes (I'm 99% sure Tallahassee is discovering, to his fury, that the grocery store he and Columbus enter only stocks Cup Cakes). As for this exclusive version, I think the Best Buy Exclusive is worth it for the first of the two "extra" extras, especially since Best Buy is currently selling the exclusive for the same price as the regular Blu-Ray. However, reports on the DVDTalk forums suggest that the edition is in short supply, so if you want it, act now!

I love how people make stupid comments like above....anyway good find OP, I got mine at BB on release day. My store only had like 4 copies so it was kind of unfair to all the people that couldn't be there when the store opened up because they were all gone by then. Good luck to anyone that can find one at a Target probably one of those fluke things though.

Someone has to take the time to point out the ignorance of your post. So yeah your welcome, Thank you come again. This is the last post I will make against yours because getting into a flame war with you is pointless and a waste of time.

It was extremely limited (at least in comparison to the regular Blu Ray and the DVD NUOSU special edition) and literally sold out at almost all Best Buy locations within a day, if not within the first few hours. It was also not available online, at least back when it came out, while the other 3 versions (regular DVD, regular BluRay, DVD NUOSU special edition) were/are available and store inventory for those can be checked. Thus, it's impossible to check store availability on this version particularly since the UPC is the same.

I was lucky enough to stumble across the last 3 copies in an out of the way location in the store I went to, the day after it was released. ALL the other copies were long gone from the many normal spots you would expect it - next to the regular BluRay on the shelves, in the New Releases section, in the big standalone cardboard they had for the movie. I bought all three copies and resold one on amazon for $125. Still have the third copy up for sale. To the guy whose Best Buy still has these, man I would buy them all up for resale. You can at least double your money very easily...I'm just a bit greedier than that.
