Rare/uncommon/sought after games you own?

Since gaming has become a bit of a collectors market too, I was wondering which rare/sought after/uncommon games people on CAG had. Here's my list(not much, but I know I'm forgetting some):

PS1:

Vagrant Story(complete, with surface scratches on disc 1)Sold to someone on CAG
Devil Dice(disc only, scratched)
Saga Frontier II(disc only)
Silent Hill(complete, non-GH)

PS2:

Everblue 2(missing the manual, but got it for $7 something @ GS)
ICO(also have the guide, thanks to someone on CAG trading me for it)
REZ(complete, part of a 2/$20 deal from HWV)
Silent Hill 2(GH,complete)
Silent Hill 3(non-gh,complete with soundtrack, also have the guide)
Silent Hill 4(sealed, with extra instruction booklet in French or something)

Xbox:

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II(complete, near mint)
Silent Scope Complete(complete, some surface scratches)
Outrun 2006 Coast 2 Coast(complete, a bunch of scratches)
The Guy Game(LOL forgot this one, even though my one bud played it last night)
Silent Hill 2: Restless Dreams

Added: Silent Hill(how did I forget I have that one?)
Added: Everblue 2(7/31/07)

I don't really understand why BG: DA II is considered rare. I'm looking at the June NPD numbers, and over its lifetime, it sold over 150,000 copies on the Xbox. Hell, it sold more copies than the original (114,000). Doesn't make sense to me.

Hmmm, I'll have to make a list. Here goes:

SNES:

Final Fantasy 2, 3 (both complete)
Lufia and the Fortress of Doom (manual only)
Super Metroid (complete)
Super Mario RPG

Gamecube:

Zelda: Collector's Edition (complete w/guide)
Zelda: Ocarina of Time / Master Quest (complete w/guide)

PS1:

Alundra 1 + 2 (complete)
Breath of Fire 3 + 4 (complete)
Castelvania, SotN (complete)
Dragon Warrior 7 (complete w/guide)
Final Fantasy Anthology (complete w/guide)
Final Fantasy Chronicles (complete w/guide)
Final Fantasy 7 (complete w/Prima and Versus guides)
Final Fantasy Tactics (complete)
Grandia (complete)
Lunar 2, Eternal Blue Complete (complete)
Parasite Eve 1 + 2 (complete)
Suikoden 1 + 2 (complete)
Vagrant Story (complete)
Xenogears (complete, GH)

PS2:

ICO (complete w/guide)

XBox:

Baldur's Gate 2, Dark Alliance (complete)

Most of my stuff is in great shape, mint/near mint condition. I went on quite the rare RPG kick for PS1 about 2 years ago. The EB in town set just about everything aside for me as it came in....that's where most of the stuff came from (even the Suikoden's). I've also got a ton of GBA/DS games, but I have no idea of what is rare for those systems.

It could sell a crap load, but without people trading it back in and newer XBox games being off the market, it doesn't return to the market. Kinda like Final Fantasy VII. Sold boatloads, yet you rarely see it.

(c) = complete

Sega CD: Snatcher (c)

SNES: Mario RPG (c), Chrono Trigger (c), Lufia, Lufia 2, Earthbound, Final Fantasy 2 (c), Final Fantasy 3 (c)

XBox: Guy Game (C, sealed), BG: DA2 (c), Silent Scope Complete (c), Sniper Elite (c), Marvel vs. Capcom 2 (c), etc..

Too many to list but i will start off with
New Resident Evil 4 Collector's edition PS2 (will ebay it soon)
New Resident Evil 4 Collector's edition Gamecube

According to these numbers, FF7 sold over 2.8 million. That's a lot of copies just sitting around in people's collections. Yikes.

Hm... I've got a lot of rare/uncommon/whatever/prized games. I'll list a couple since I'm too lazy to do them all. All of my games are complete or sealed (sadly since I haven't been able to play them yet:cry:).

PS2: SMT: Nocturne, DDS, DDS2
DS: Electroplankton, WarioWare Touched, Lost in Blue, AWDS
GBA: Yggdra Union, Tactics Ogre, Fire Emblem, the 3 Castlevanias (CotM, AoS, HoD)
PS1: too many to list, just check my collection.
GC: Ikaruga, MGS TTS, LoZ CE
DC: SF3 Third Strike

And yeah... I don't feel like going on. Just follow the link on my sig if you really want to see my collection.:p

The only games I own that are truly hard to come by (as in, you'll probably never see them in a store, even used):

--Rival Schools w/ guide (PS1)
--IQ (PS1)
--Persona 1 + 2 (PS1..soon to be sold)
--Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence Limited Edition (new and sealed.)
--Thousand Arms (PS1) -- not even sure where this came from. I played 5 minutes of it and threw up in my mouth a little. it's a dating sim from Atlus.

the rest are "rare" games that are expensive, but still relatively easy to come by:
--MvC2 (PS2 and Xbox)
--Nocturne
--DDS 1 and 2
--Resident Evil Code Veronica (Gamecube- new. I found a ton of copies new for $10 on clearance a few weeks ago.)
--Fatal Frame 3

and some others

Excluding the NES, I probably own just about every rare/sought after game worth playing for each system I have.

Here are a few in particular:

SNES - Mountain Bike Rally/Speed Racer 2-in-1
NES - Bubble Bobble 2
DS - Electroplakton
Virtual Boy - Jack Bros.
PS1 - Team Buddies
Saturn - Panzer Dragoon Saga

Rare:
Tactics Ogre (PS1)
Brigandine
MGS3: Subsistance Limited Edition

Uncommon / Valuable:
Suikoden 2
Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2 (PS2)

Plenty more, but that's a few.

Factory sealed International Superstar Soccer for the SNES
Factory sealed International Superstar Soccer Deluxe for the SNES
Factory sealed Bubble Bobble 2 for the NES
Factory sealed Little Samson for the NES
Factory sealed MUSCLE for the NES
Factory sealed Dragon Warrior 4 for the NES
Factory sealed Harvest Moon for the SNES

etc etc etc few of those there are only 2 known sealed copies in existence

For something so well-known among more casual gamers, you have to consider a hunk of those were ruined beyond playability and thrown away.

As for me... I really don't play much attention to the rarity of any of my games. I know my Lunars and my Suikodens are rare/sought-after, at least... but finding out anything else I own is still worth original MSRP or better is always a surprise. I'd rather people just read other my collection list.

The two notable titles in my collection are Lunar 2 and MGS 3: Subsistence Limited Edition (with MGS Saga). Two games I'll never get rid of.

so sad that the only thing that comes to mind is Dance Dance Revolution Disney Mix for PS1... well and that GC zelda disk that had the NES zeldas on it sealed in plastic and sealed in the envelope nintend mailed it in.

This is a sad thread, because just last week I started ebaying a lot of my PS1 rpg collection. I had
Tactics Ogre
Ogre Battle
Valkyrie Profile
Legend of Mana
Ehrgeiz
Einhander
Shing Megami Tensei:Nocturne
Brigandine
Breath of Fire III
Breath of FIre IV
there might be a few others up...

I still have:
all PS1 Final Fantasy games
Vagrant Story
Suikoden I & 2
Vandal Hearts 1 & 2
Thousand Arms
Tales of Destiny 1 & 2
Lunar:Silver Star
Lunar:Eternal Blue
ALundra 1 & 2
Xenogears
Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn)
Shining Force 3 (Saturn)
House of the Dead (Saturn)

and actually quite a few more that I can't think of off the top of my head. I bought them ages ago and thought I'd have time to play them...man, was I wrong...so, that's why I'm selling some of them (probably most of them)...oh well.

Wait, don't you mean Harvest Moon for the SNES? I don't recall them making one for the NES.

Anyway, the somewhat rare games i got are:

SNES:

Secret of Mana complete
Super Castlevania 4 Complete
Donkey Kong country complete
Illusion of Gaia, which is near complete (just missing some inserts)
Breath of Fire (not complete at all, but the cart's in Mint condition)

Basically those are sought after more or less on ebay, but usually they are factory sealed, so that's the closest i have when it comes to rare games. Most of my other games for other systems aren't really sought after (maybe Ninja Gaiden 3 for the NES, but i'm not too sure about it, epecially since it's not complete). I'm trying to rack up on some rarities myself, but so far thats what i have.

Lets see...

For Genesis:
Musha (absolutely mint, without a ding on the box, manual or cart, thank god for underpriced buy-it-now's on ebay)
Rockman Megaworld (boxed japanese copy, got for a fraction of its usual selling price due to another badly priced buy-it-now for the seller on ebay)
Most of the other us rares for genesis complete in box, but this is my favorite system so there are too many others to list

For Snes:
Starfox Super Weekend Competition Cartridge (actually got this back when it was offered through nintendo power originally)

For Atari 2600:
Beat 'em and Eat 'em (complete in pristine condition, gotta love the adult themed atari games)
Bachelor Party/Gigolo (complete in pristine condition, another adult themed atari game)

For Gamecube:
Ikaruga
About 10-15 of the demo kiosk discs (obviously not sold via regular retail methods)

For Xbox:
10 of the demo kiosk discs (see gamecube demo comments)

I don't really have anything too rare currently for PS, PS2, or Nes

Also I've had a few others pass through my hands at one time or another like Flintstones 2 for nes (couldn't pass up making $75 over what I paid for it originally) or the Japanese club nintendo exclusive game and watch ds title.

Whoops, I did mean to type SNES on the HM. Some open rarities I have include

sega genesis miracle piano complete set mint in box
super nintendo miracle piano complete set mint in box
donkey kong competition cart complete with original case
star fox competition cart (not TOO rare)
castlevania dawn of sorrow DS not for resale demo cart
gem mint complete flintstones 2 for the NES (missing less than 10 total items to have a complete US NES collection)
Gyromite big box release complete- US
Gyromite big box release complete- CAN
Lennus II Super Famicom Complete
dynastic hero complete US release
Daytona USA netlink edition complete
zelda ocarina of time grey not for resale demo cart
zelda ocarina of time gold not for resale demo cart

I have a reasonably filled in PS1 RPG Collection, but PS1 games are sort of uncommon to get anywhere anymores:

Rarities or uncommons I guess would be(all complete):

Thousand Arms
Valkyrie Profile
Suikoden 1+2
Symphony of the Night
Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre
Brigandine
Arc the Lad Collection
Silver Star/Eternal Blue Complete
Breath of Fire 3+4

PS2:

Nocturne (1st printing, sealed)
Digital Devil Saga (sealed)

Unfortunately (for me) rare no longer necessarily means sought after. I think the time when people cared about PS1 RPGs is passing. I've had a lot of the ones people are listing here on my list for a while, with little or no interest in them. I'm old enough that I bought a lot of them pretty much new, and I've been a "hoarder" until recently.

On the other hand, I sure do wish I hadn't sold SwordQuest: Waterworld (yes I got it when it was released) in a garage sale.

I have tons of rare to semi-rare stuff in the ebay store, factory sealed Ps1 & SNES games, DS download station carts, etc... but my personal collection is rather lacking in the rarity aspect. I do have a mint complete PS2 Futurama, and a mint complete PS1 Klonoa, and FFVII...but everyone has FFVII! I used to have so much more neat stuff...it's kinda sad really.

You'd have to look at my un-updated collection in my sig. I have mostly sealed rares. Mainly PS1 on up to current gen.

Panzer Dragoon Saga (sealed)
Final Fantasy Tactics (sealed)*original
Ogre Battle 64 (sealed)
Ogre Tactics (sealed)
Elemental Gearbolt (sealed)
Brigandine (sealed)
Sin and Punishment (sealed)
Bahamut Lagoon (sealed)

to name some of my fav's :)

My collection based on eBay prices is probably worth about $90,000... seriously.

Only ones I can think of off the top of my head that would be rare:
Fallout 1 & 2
Unreal Tournament 2004 Special Edition
Sim Copter (CD branded and packaged as Sim City 2000 Special Edition o_O)

Whetting out my collection, this is what I finalized as valuable/in demand currently or someday:

GBA - Zelda: Minish Cap (sealed)

GCN - Ikaruga (complete)

N64 - Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage (sealed)
N64 - Bomberman: The Second Attack! (complete)
N64 - Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness (cart)
N64 - Sin and Punishment import (mint, complete)

DS - Advance Wars: Dual Strike (sealed)
DS - Castlevania 20th Anniversary Pack promo (sealed)

PS1 - Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (black label, mint, complete)
PS1 - Saga Frontier II (sealed)
PS1 - Vagrant Story (black label, mint, complete)
PS1 - Xenogears (GH , sealed)

PS2 - Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 (mint, complete)
PS2 - Futurama (mint, complete)
PS2 - Marvel vs Capcom 2 (mint, complete)
PS2 - Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance (complete)
PS2 - Resident Evil 4: Premium Edition tin w/ all extras (complete)

Guide - Xenosaga: Episode 1 (mint)

The only things I could consider rare I have for my area at least are...

Disgaea ( Sealed white strip)

Saga Frontier II ( complete)

Shining Tears (complete, may not be rare but in my area one Eb in a 100 mile radius had it)

Zone of the Enders 1&2 (complete mint)

Okage: The Shadow King (sealed white strip)

;)

Disgaea

The entire Shin Megami Tensei series sealed

Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence LE sealed

Asuka 120% Burning Fest. Limited (Saturn)

Agetec Stick for the DC

Also 15 DC imports and Japanese unit with Mothra VMU

Steel Batallion XBOX

Final Fantasy NES- I have no clue why I have this, I hate RPG's.lol

Hmm... I don't collect games so this list is going to be weak but here goes:

FFVII (non-GH)
FFVIII (non-GH
Ikaruga (GC)
ICO
Einhander
Symphony of the Night (non-GH, PSX)

That might be it. I'm not sure how rare these are but they are definitely "wanted" in the community. I like all of those games though so it's not like I'll be getting rid of them anytime soon.

A few that immediately come to mind:

Final Fantasy 2
Harvest Moon (Game Boy)
Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition (sealed)
Silent Hill (non-GH, don't understand why it's now sought after)
Starcraft 64 (missing manual)
Suikoden (2 complete copies)
Super Mario RPG (complete with guide)

Border Down (Dreamcast, JP) - limited edition w/ soundtrack in double-size jewel case - mint/like new
Ikaruga (Dreamcast, JP) - don't recall if I opened this or not, might still be sealed
Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn) - has the four black disc sleeves, discs might have a light scratch or two, probably VG+ overall
ICO (PS 2) - I think this is still sealed
MGS: Substance (PS 2) - still sealed, brand new

I must be close to 1000 total games at this point, I'm sure I have loads of other rare ones.

Looks like we all have some very good games. Some I have:

Genesis: Shining Force 1&2, Scooby Doo Mystery
SNES: Mario RPG
SEGA CD: Shining Force CD, The Space Adventure
Saturn: Panzer Dragoon, Shining Force 3
PS1: Ogre Battle, FF7-9, Rival Schools, Parasite Eve, Silent Hill
Dreamcast: Marvel vs Capcom, Sega Bass Fishing 2, Powerstone, Shenmue, Seaman
PS2: ZOE2, Silent Hill 3 Colosseum: Road to Freedom
Gamecube: RE4 Premium Edition, RE2
Xbox: Futurama, BGDA2, Marvel vs Capcom 2, Splinter Cell PT Collector's Edition
GBA: Sonic Battle, Shining Force

I know I have more games that are sought after too (but not necessarily rare) but rather than list games like super mario 1-2-3 for the NES that are common but go for $ on ebay I decided just to keep it to the minimum.

Elite Beat agents (Demo version) some dummy at EB sold it to me.

I want Slient hill GH , 2 (black label and GH PS2) and SH4 (Xbox) but after the movie some of these have become expensive. Some of this stuff is on my trade list too.

Lufia and the Fortress of Doom
RE4 CE

Yeah thats about all...I also have Shadow Hearts, but is has an inch scratch, so it doesnt get to get included.

I think some of the Silent Hill games are sought after now due to the movie raising peoples awareness that they exist. They may have just been 'another game' to most of those gamers who went to see the movie, but after finding out the movie was based on a game series, they may want to see what the deal with it is.

I just lent out my copy of Silent Hill 3(have the quadrilogy, plus a copy of Restless Dreams on Xbox)to a friend who let me borrow God Of War II for a whole month. Plus, I lent her the guide for it too, which I got locally for like $3 complete.

Thing is though, with many of these harder to find games, I know of places locally to get them for $5-15 complete, even ones like Silent Hill 2.

I actually saw a couple sealed copies of the sequel to Devil Dice(called Bombastic) over the weekend at the place I bought Vagrant Story. I may go back this weekend and pick up a copy.
