buy now...they work great with the all new psp go
yup considering that PSP1000-3000 magically stopped working!
Damn added 15 to my cart but shipping is $25.92 on a order of $27. Any chance of working out a deal Dr?
That works out to about $3 each including shipping. I consider that a deal!

Too much shipping, it kills the deal. I wouldn't mind getting these shipped Media Mail in a little bubble package if the shipping was lowered, but for $26 of shipping on 15 UMDs, it just isn't very good. A $27 order becomes $52.92 after shipping.

UMDs could have been a great platform if they were used for more than the PSP. I swear, if they released standalone portable UMD players and marketed them towards kids, the UMD may have been a nifty medium. I just always think of how good a portable Sponge Bob UMD player could have sold for $80. Just Sony wouldn't do anything with it and basically tried to force people to buy the PSP if they just wanted a UMD player. Now UMDs are pretty pointless.

I always thought that would be cool too. Like have a umd player the size of a deck of cards. Make the cases for the movies just barely large enough to fit the umd. Would have been very cool.

Shipping almost killed the deal for me but I bit on:

Da Ali show
Entourage
Doctor who 1 & 4
Galerians
Old boy

$22.67 ($22 something) shipped - makes them arnd $3.77 each not too bad, especially for full seasons of da ali & entourage

I think they call those DVD players. And the portable variety like you say run about $80.. so what would be the point?

Sony has failed before with these new mediums. The other one that comes to mind right off the bat is the mini disc. A decent concept that just never really took off.

Edit: iPods with video capabilities are also marketed towards kids (somewhat, but we all know they end up with whatever is popular). The UMD was just doomed to fail from the start, in my opinion.

These have been selling pretty well. We're sold out of Star Trek Nemesis and the Doctor Who UMDs for now, but we should be able to get some more in the future. Thanks for the orders!

Are you shipping them individually?

Sony was also responsible for Betamax.
it makes a good replacement case if you have a dirty psp case from games you bought at gamestop
Why not just ask at the store for a better case? I do that anytime there's a game in a crummy case, and they always get me a nicer one. Costs nothing at all, but a friendly and polite request.
Hello?!?!?

The UMDs are only $1.95 each to begin with. Do you want them to give them away?
No but he'd probably bet better off just listing them @3.95 each with free shipping. That way there's no sticker shock when you see the total price in your cart has doubled due to shipping - especially considering that flat rate boxes from the USPS should pretty much cap the shipping costs at about $14.

I had $25 worth of stuff in my cart that was going to cost another $25 to ship. I said forget it and closed the window.

I would order a bunch if you would jam them in a flat rate prioity box. You can fit a lot in the medium flat rate box for 10.35. Not that it's a bad deal or anything! I would love to see Oldboy and oddly enough would buy it on UMD just to see it.

Those who bitch about shipping need to shut the fuck up. It's old and tired. The UMDs I just ordered were $3.695 each after shipping and tax free. $5 is my buying point for a UMD so to be $1.30 below that is great.

In all honesty the 8 UMDs would probably fit into a flat rate box and with delivery confirmation that's $11.05. Media Mail with delivery confirmation looks to be around $4. So I'm looking at anywhere from $3 to $10 saved. So media mail would have me paying $2.445 per UMD. Yeah that's a nice savings but remember my sweet point where I find value in UMDs is $5, and in my case it is far exceeded.

Also - missing out on Dr. Who = lose.

You know what's even mored tired? People who bitch about people who bitch about shipping. :hot:

We really can't go any cheaper on the UMDs. Sure, we could offer free shipping, but then we'd be raising the price on each UMD to $5 just to cover our behinds on single UMD orders. I'd rather reward customers that order higher quantities with prices in the $3-$4 range than make everyone pay the flat $5 price. Despite the few complaints we've received, this pricing structure has worked great so far as in it's resulted in many multiple-UMD orders with an average price per UMD of under $4 for our customers.

You know what's the most tiring of all?

Bitches. :whistle2:#

Snagged Dr Who 1 & 4, Die Hard, and Sahara - Just under $4 each with shipping - makes me happy, gives me something to watch once I decide it's time to hop in the ol' hamster ball and start exercising. Would have bought more, but didn't want to spend anymore on shipping. One more title would have put me over $20, and that was my limit.
Hello?!?!?

No the UMD's are not $1.95. There is simply no way to pay $1.95 per UMD no matter how many you buy ( short of ten of thousands of them) If shipping was capped than it would be possible to pay $1.95 each but the lowest cost of 4 UMDs is $3.95 (each) the way the deal is structured.: $1.95 x 4+ $5 ship the 1st 2+$3 ship the next 2. Even if you bought one of each of the 65 the cost would be $3.45 each. These are not bad prices but the actual cost per UMD is almost doubled from the price point listed. Just a matter if you want to pay $4 a umds or not.
They must be picked clean by now. Nothing worthwhile on the list.
We started with 65 titles and we're only sold out of three, so we've still got 62 different UMDs available right now. We're down to just a couple left of about 6 other titles, though.
Those who bitch about shipping need to shut the fuck up. It's old and tired.
Indeed.

The only case where I see an issue is if you were interested in just one movie, added it to the card, and now saw it's really ~$7 shipped. That's definitely a killer, seeing the price tripled. Outside of that, I don't understand the problem with paying ~$4 shipped per disc, considering a lot of these I still at ~$10 a disc around the 'net.

Unless you're just buying one movie that you can find elsewhere for $5, itsaves you money and thus is a deal.

It's not the shipping that kills this deal - it's the fact that it's for UMD movies that kills the deal. ;)

You know what's the most tired? People who point out what you just did even though the post you quoted actually contributed to the thread.

Also looks like ThumbMonkey is selling the same UMDs on ebay. http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Thumbmonkey-Video-Games__W0QQ_armrsZ1QQ_fsubZ4764309 Do they get stock from the same place that you do or did they rape your store?

Freakin' store is getting raped! I think the eBay resellers may have something to do with it, but oh well, congrats to those of you who got orders in before the inventory started to die off...:cold:

most places have UMDs here for 5$ each and id get them right then. none id want to spend more than 2$ on. thanks for posting tho.
