Final Cut is my personal favourite. Although i've only seen that and the Director's Cut. Might be cool checking them all out.

2012 - 6/10 - Destroy the world, and miss out on wrecking the Pyramids, the Great Wall, the (real) Eiffel Tower, Big Ben, the Golden Gate Bridge, Sydney Operahouse, and all of Tokyo. Also, why was it so damn long?

Repo! The Genetic Opera

Probably be a cult film in a few years, for now it was just ok.

My thoughts exactly on the lack of other major landmarks being destroyed. I'm really holding out hope on a extended or alternate cut that perhaps includes more icons being wrecked (a friend actually proposed that some of the icon destructions may have been region specific for the movie , which is a bizarre but interesting idea). California and Yellowstone still looked pretty awesome.

The length didn't really bother me , but the end portion did seem to drag on for a bit too long.

Trapped Ashes - 3/5 - Five short stories 2 of which are pretty awesome. Sadly they are the first two so you sorta wait around for it to end. First two stories are pretty f'd up and funny. There is fun to be had w/ this film but it starts off very well and entertaining but the latter half isn't as much fun as the first 40minutes.

Knowing - God I hate Nicolas Cage. A generically creepy premise followed by unexplained crap. I mean, see it if someone threatens you with death but if it's just a trip to the emergency room, accept the beating.

Up - Awesome. Funny, well-written, touching, and all of that. Might be better than Wall-E simply on the presence of Kevin.

Body of Lies. Was a good bit better than I expected. DiCaprio was very good and Crowe was solid.

Children of Men - I can't believe I just picked up the DVD used for $3. I heard it was good so I figured why not. This movie was amazing. Storytelling, directing, action sequences, effects, this had everything going for it. The sequence with Clive Owen running through the streets at the end with the blood splatter on the camera on the lens was so masterfully done. I cannot believe that was done in one shot. My only gripe is that I bought it on DVD and not blu ray!

Jurassic Park 3 Okay, doesn't touch the first movie but better than the second.

Taken kicking ass for 90 minutes.

I was really disappointed with Jurassic Park 3, i had wanted Sam Neil to do another, but that was just bad.

District 9 - 7/10

It was good I suppose but not as good as the hype. Uh... a bit horrifying and rough at the start too.

Oh yea I enjoyed District B-13 with Parkour founder David Belle. It's truly an underrated action film along with Equilibrium. There is a sequel also that might be making it's way to the US. http://en.wikipedia....ct_13_Ultimatum
Looks like it was released in the UK and France but nothing is showing US?

ThanksKilling - Hand puppet turkey attacks college teens. Very much a comedy/horror film. The duration of the film is perfect at 66minutes. Its hard to find yourself bored with the movie. The problem with these joke type horror films like gingerdead man2...the joke wears off around half way through and it become dreadfully boring. ThanksKilling's turkey joke murdering people does die off in the middle but it finds other ways to make you laugh later in the film. For a movie that is intentionally made bad for your enjoyment, it does its job well. Hard not to recommend this if you are a fan of bad horror films.

edit - ThanksKilling is up on netflix streaming.

Star Trek

I watched the Blu-Ray version this time. Still an awesome movie, even after already having seen it 3 times.

District B13

After seeing people talk about it here, I went and watched it on Netflix Instant Watch. It was pretty much straight up action, but they did a really good job on it. Especially with the all of the free running scenes.

Time After Time - Malcom McDowell is H.G. Wells and has created his time machine but Jack the Ripper uses it to go into the modern day (1979). Wells must hunt down Jack the Ripper and bring him back. At first I thought the movie was going to take itself seriously but then the film embraces the farce comedy of this 1890's British man in the modern day. The film ended up being pretty funny. Worth checking.

best line in the film

Funny People

Funny movie. However, I think it went downhill a little when it went from him thinking he was dying, to him trying to get his ex-fiance back.
