Ass creed 2 is $10 at EB Games? Last time I checked they were still 64.99.

Heavenly Sword is another cheap title if you can find it at BBV, its 4.99 used.

Hmm, I'd consider giving up Batman and maybe Mario Kart. Heavenly Sword I'll probably never play again, but I want to keep it. What games can you get with a trade 2, anything? Rogers told me yesterday that Mario Kart has a $35 trade in, I wonder what Batman is worth.

Lost Planet
Mario Galaxy 2
Red Dead Redemption

I had no plans to get Mario Galaxy 2... but maybe I'll trade Batman and Mario Kart in for it. I already have Red Dead pre-ordered at Amazon for $60 with $10 credit after it ships. I just noticed that you get a $5 gift card for pre-ordering Mario at BB. Man, this is good timing though cause Batman will drop in value soon with the new edition coming. Been thinking about selling it for a long time.
 
I'm a little skeptical this second...why would games like SC: Conviction, FF13 etc not be on this list? If there was one thing I learned at Rogers, there always seemed to be a 'list' and an 'edited list'. So I'll wait until it's official.

The official list says Fallout 3 but only the GOTY scans in properly.. so YMMV if your CSR overrides it.

Ahh well, I have Uncharted 2 and AVP that I can consider trading in. Gamestop is gonna give me jack siht for the value of my games.

I'm sure you can argue that typo, too, unless a correction notice has been posted.
 
So, I don't have much experience with the Rogers trade ins. Do I have to wait until the game is released before doing it? Or can I do it as a preorder like at EB Games?

Oh, and how much of a hassle will I go through for not having the instruction book for one of the games?
 
Ive been told you cant pre order with the trade ins but never really looked into that, the no booklet is totally random depending on the person ur dealing with, but it does state in their fine print that a manual is required, good luck tho, lets us know if u can pre order with the trade ins :)
 
You can pre-order ($5 deposit) but cannot do the trades until the game is released. You will get your $5 refunded then.

Missing booklet usually = 10% or so off the TIV. I think what typically happens is you trade 2, each one gets bumped up to $35 (for a $69.99 title), you deduct 10% for missing manual or not mint condition ($-3.50) so you end up paying 3.50+tax for the game after trades.

Fable 2 - should work
Fallout 3 - no

Gears 2 should work, it's the same disc. GOTY just has an extra one time use code for all the map packs... but still, not sure.
 
Yeah, it's the same disc, but usually Rogers people aren't gamers so they just go by what scans or not and don't really know much about the products.
 
Fable 2 works (I had the cashier pre-check my copies to see if they would be good come release time, they have to be put in as a 'mint' trade in, meaning scratches on the discs wont give you a 2:1 trade)
I also double checked to make sure they wont drop Fable 2 off the list come the 27th (for ufc) and the person said 100% no since Fable 2 is on the list in writing
pre-orders (without a deposit) doesnt work

I got Fable 2 and Halo Wars for $30 together
any new release for that much money is a steal
 
OK, I got Heavenly Sword for trade, where can I get Fable 2 for cheap???

If you can find it at Blockbuster, it's about $15 used.
 
i'm hitting up pawn shops (15-20 for list games) and kjiji (online classifieds site)

another question is, how long until EB accepts new releases for trade ins
my plan is to trade up for Lost Planet 2 (the earliest of the 4 games) then immediately trade it in for a power trade towards Modnation Racers
also, is it safe to assume Lost Planet 2 will have a $40 trade in value?

Anyone know of a couple of games on the trade 2 list that can be bought cheap, and are easy to find in stores? If I can pay around $40 after tax for both I'd rather do that and trade in to Rogers for RDR. I already have 2 games I'm trading Rogers for Galaxy 2 and was gonna buy RDR for $60 at BB since I have a $45 gift card there. Thanks.

Also, can you trade 2 for RDR and then a week later trade another 2 for Galaxy or is there some kind of limit?

Halo Wars $19.99 used at FS/BB/BBV and not too hard to find.

Fable 2 is $14.99 at BBV but pretty much sold out

MUA2 is either $19.99 or $29.99 used at BBV, can't remember.

There's not a lot of really cheap easily available games right now that I know of.

Halo Wars is also $19.99 new at TSCC (if you can find it).

Gears 2 (non-GOTY) should work at RP and can probably be found for under $20 at a local pawn shop or craigslist (but obviously YMMV). Same with Fable 2, Cod: WaW, and Fallout 3 (non-GOTY might work).

Also, Resident Evil 5 is $24.99 used at BBV.

p.s. SM Galaxy 2 is $49.99 at EB.
 
damn, so if i bought galaxy 2 with cash at EB i could trade 2 for RDR which is $60. And then just hold on to my $45 BB gift card. Buying 2 more cheap games for a second trade in seems like a long shot and would only save me a few dollars, I think I'll stick to the one trade in. I may still look around at Game Centre and Rogers for the accepted titles though. One person in this thread said old Fallout 3 doesn't work. I know Rogers sells that used for $30. Thanks guys.
