WBshop.com SALE thru 7/19: 5 DVDs/$20, 5 BluRays/$45 - decent selection!

squidboots

CAGiversary!
There's a One Week sale (ends on 7/19/10) over at the Warner Brothers store. Buy 5 for a flat discount ($20 for 5 DVDs, $45 for 5 BRs), or buy individually at reduced cost. Shipping is $5 or free if your order is over $60.

Please note that WB does charge tax for your purchase, so depending on what you buy this may be a dealbreaker. For myself, since I live in NY this is a moot point (Amazon charges New York sales tax - boo!)

Anyway, the best BluRay deals can be found in the National Geographic/BBC stuff, as well as the few series they carry.

I'm not going to list the DVDs for the sale because there is quite an extensive collection (283 to pick from)! Just head on over to the sale page to check them out for yourself.

Included in 5 BluRays for $45 sale:

 • $5.95 selection (if bought individually):

Happy hunting!

If you can't find 5 to buy in that list, you can still get a decent deal by mixing some of the lower priced titles and using coupon codes WRNRBLU (10% off) and SHIPFREE (free shipping $30+)

I was able to get:
Venture Bros. Season 3 + Trick R Treat + Logan's Run + Interview w/ a Vampire = $37.09

On Amazon that would have been $30 + $11 + $10 + $10 = $61

What was the previous cheapest price for the Harry Potter Blu-Rays? Wasn't there a way to get them for $5 each earlier this year? Maybe I'm thinking of the hollywoodvideo.com clearance. I'm pretty sure they've been this price [($45+$5)/5=$10 apiece] at, say, Target at least once since Thanksgiving.

You can use dvd2blu.com or red2blu.com to trade in yours Potters films and get the blu version for 5 bucks

Damn squidboots, I was looking at the list and couldn't concentrate because I thought the bats that are in your signature were bugs on my screen lol

I think he was talking about the glitch earlier in the year. They had a 5 for $45 promo earlier but if you didn't add the 5th blu-ray, you would've gotten 4.95 on certain blu's. That glitch has long been fixed though.
Don't forget that WBShop.com does charge tax on your purchases.
There is nothing wrong paying tax since it only helps your city run :D
There is nothing wrong paying tax since it only helps your city run :D
I never claimed there wasn't anything wrong with paying tax on the shipment.

If you've never ordered from WBShop.com and you suddenly see tax on the purchase and not expect it, you might be a little surprised. I was the first time I ordered from them.

Just reminding people about it being something to factor into the deal.

Neither of those seems to work for me. Sadly without them not gonna get anything.

:Edit: I guess that probably because they don't stack with the sale. Aha.

They do not list the HP movies on dvd2blu :( Only on the red2blu. I keep checking because I own all but the newest one (bought on bluray) on dvd & was hoping to upgrade.

Shame the selection is so similar to the 5 for 45 sale a few weeks ago - there's a few I'd like to get but no combination of 5 now that I own most of them

I added a note about tax to the main post, thanks :)

Actually, on anything $9.95 and below, the WRNRBLU and SHIPFREE coupons are a better deal. Since buying 5 blus will only get you to $45, you'd have to buy more at "regular prices' to get free shipping. And on those movies, you're only saving $1 anyway...which gets added right back with the shipping charge.

Example
5 $9.95 blus for $45 + $5 shipping + tax (7.75% for me) = $53.04 (or $10.61 per blu)
4 $9.95 blus with 10% off + free shipping + tax = $38.22 (or $9.56 per blu)

So, really, the 5 for $45 is only a deal on the $14.95 movies.

I clicked on WB's $5 for $45 Blu-rays and they only list 15 mostly crappy titles.

Not in my city. Taxes keep going up, spending keeps going up, and the incompetent politicians that keep getting re-elected won't cut anything so they just raise the taxes some more. Have you ever heard of a skybridge tax? I have.

You have to follow this link (the one in my original post) to get to the page with 54 titles. For some reason, one of the links they have on their website only lists 15 titles.

Yeah same thing with me I have 5 DVD's in my cart, but it's charging me regular price for each one.
I put 5 dvds in my cart and don't see the discount. What am I doing wrong?
Alright... It doesn't seem to be working for the HP BluRays. It works if I add 5 Robin hood to my cart, but not the HP movies. Kind of annoying...

I bet a lot of those Robin Hood sets end up on ebay. I've never seen them go for that cheap, and most BBC shows stay fairly high in price.

Yeah I was going to grab one myself since I did enjoy the first season. Really wish season two would get released on Blu but can do without season three.

Season 3 spoilers....

Killing Marian at the end of season two really killed the show to me. Then having some dumb fuck spoil to me that Robin dies at the end of season three really pissed me off so I didn't bother watching it.

You didn't miss anything, one of the most disappointing endings ever to a show. They did at least add Tuck, but then that ending just blew it.

According to SD, it now only applies to $9.95 BDs. Which means that you can buy 5 $10 BDs for ... ::drumroll:: ... $50.
Amazon.uk has HP 1-6 BD for ~$50 USD. Now, to see if the free college Prime works on Amazon.uk

Hilarious. Prime doesn't work with foreign accounts, sadly.

I have in my cart

HP and the Half Blood Prince
Terminator Salvation
History Of Violence
Hangover
Pale Rider

and I don't get the sale price. It comes up to $64.75.

Dude this is off topic, but your sig scared the crap out of me, I thought little creatures were invading my monitor I literally jumped out of my seat.

Haha oh dear, you are the fourth person to tell me that. IIs it that bad? Should I change my sig?
it's not that bad, but I also find myself grabbing for something to kill the bugs with every time I go by your sig >_
Haha, same here. I'm at least used to it in this thread now. But the first time I came across it, I was like "Holy shit! Where did those bugs come from!?!" In retrospect, it's pretty funny and impressive that a simple GIF can elicit that kind of response out of so many people.
Happened to me too. The sig was at the bottom of my monitor and I thought I had fucking bugs on my Mac!

Bumping this because I'm curious if anybody has even gotten their orders yet. I placed my order for Venture Bros and Robin Hood S1 on 7/13, and it still says "IN PROCESS". It also says that the items are "in stock and ready to ship". What the hell is the problem?

If anyone wants a $10 off $25 (expires end of July) or $5 off (expires end of Aug.) code, PM me and I'll give them to you. With their high prices, tax and shipping, shopping there makes no sense for me.

Almost 2 weeks and my order still hasn't shipped. I've only made one prior order with WBshop, but what a fucking joke they are. This kind of service implies you've got one guy working out of his basement fulfilling orders. It takes them this long to ship an order (for items that were in stock when I placed the order), but yet they have this in their FAQs section.

Q: Can I cancel or make changes to the items in my order?

A: Since we strive to ship your orders as quickly as possible, we can only cancel or change orders that are on backorder or preorder status and haven't been prepared by our warehouse for shipment. If you change your mind about an order and we are unable to cancel it for you, you can either refuse the package upon delivery attempt, or return the package to our warehouse. Please contact us to request the cancellation of a backorder or preorder item.
If it takes you 2 weeks to ship an order, you can not use this excuse. I've seen companies use it when they ship your order within a day or two. But don't even act like your "process" is so elaborate that a two week window isn't enough time to modify an order.

I received my order the other day (ordered two Harry Potters, Robin Hood, Journey to the Center of the Earth, and Venture Bros.), only to find that Venture Bros. was not in the envelope. Instead, on the packing slip the item was circled and somebody had handwritten "credit" next to it.

I e-mailed WBshop to try to get them to ship the item to me at the price I originally "paid" (or committed to pay for it), and I assumed I was going to get the item considering it was confirmed in my order e-mail and my shipping e-mail. Instead, I got the excuse from the customer service rep that the item was backordered and they suggested that I re-order when the item is back in stock. Yeah, right! No way I'm going to give them $29.xx when I was told they were going to ship the item at $9.xx+tax. UGH.
