I was interested in this when it first came out, based on the demo, but the reviews scared me away. I think if I can find one for $40, I'm in - thanks OP!
That is exactly what I was thinking too. It also seemed like I was one of the few people who were excited about its release and preordered both ps3 and x360 version and ended up canceling both preorders 7 days after their release due to bad reviews. But if I could get my hands on the ce version at 40 new? I am in!

As long as you aren't an FPS regular, it's actually a whole lot of fun. I've never been a fan of multiplayer so I can't vouch for that, but the single player is very rewarding. Each character is represented faithfully and plays differently enough from the other characters to keep the game interesting. So, if you're a fan of the license and don't demand perfection in your FPS's, you'll definitely enjoy this title!
The multiplayer seems to be the main reason people mock this game. If you are like me and been playing games since the NES days there are never hardly any good movie type games. The MP in this is so bad i can not believe they even included it.
The single player feels like you are really there and i jumped way enough to make it really feel like you are in a new movie. The story is not bad but simple. The controls i think are fine to many people used to cod and anything less then cod they mock. This is a great rewarding single player game. An example would be when you pick alien you start out as a baby alien breaking free and escaping the room. Then you stealth kill people from the ceiling and everywhere else. The human campaign i finished and wow i really enjoyed it. I never jump in games much besides a few titles. I know The Thing was a pretty big hit back in the day but the scare meter is always tense like it was in The Thing for the ps2. You never know what is gonna happen every step you take.
There are minor flaws in single player and i actually give it 8 out of 10 for single player only. I did not try the predator story yet but will sooner or later.
If you like aliens or predator this is a must get just do not go on MP you will regret it. Only buy for the single player you have been warned.

Anybody know if this link is an accurate way of checking stock?
http://www.gamestop....?Variant=200036
It shows at the top of the page "Aliens vs Predator Hunter Edition" but no stores listed underneath or really any info confirming store stock. Will probably just return it if I can't find another store to exchange it at, rather than chancing opening this beast up and being screwed when parts of it are missing or damaged...

Picked up the last copy of this game at the local GS for 360 today. The box looked pretty dinged up when he handed it to me but I decided to take a chance after making sure the top of the box was still taped. Mistake. After looking at it closer, the bottom of the box has tape over one of the flaps and all of the corners of the cardboard are worn off (looks like the tail is broken too, but at least I can get that replaced)...

Wow they are still doing that? Did they not go to court and lost many years ago for selling repackaged items as brand new? I bought stuff online that was new from them and it was repackaged over the years as well. They all worked fine and included everything but when the case is dirty on the wrap you know for sure it was used. I hope they go to court again for this stuff cause it is just wrong. I pay for brand new non opened prices i expect brand new not some resealed game. They got good at the security tape trick. I can easily remove the tape on all my games and put them back on like new. The way you can tell it was repackaged is the plastic they use to reseal them is slightly different. Feel the plastic and compare. I warn you if you go back and say they repackaged it you will lose the battle. My friend ended up getting banned from his local GS cause he caused a scene. He just bought a game and walked out and 2 mins later he walked back in and said it was resealed. They said he was trying to scam them and to get lost before he calls the cops. I laughed and so did they. You should google some stories they are funny as hell until it happens to you.

The reviews pushed what had the chance to be an okay game in the mind of gamers, to a failure that no one would even attempt to play (yet they give every call of duty game 10/10 reviews). If the reviews were higher this game probably would have done better. I'd like to find the 360 version of this for cheap (as I already own the game) but doubt I will.

From what someone has said, it'll just ship out. You wont get any kind of confirmation/shipping emails, and about a week to be delivered. For those of you who ordered a replacement facehugger (or in some cases extra) did you get any sort of confirmation email from Sega or do they ship it out whenever and you know when it arrives?
