...In case ya don't.

I honestly can't think of a blander stable ever. It had to end when Dustin Rhodes impregnated her (unfortunately in real life and not in kayfabe).

WWE stopped calling it the "supplemental" draft because they know that the fans...ahem, the WWE Universe™...recognized that, here, "supplemental" means "the guys nobody gives a fuck about."

The jobber draft

Still bitter on how that script fooled us on Hulk Hog....I meant John Cena that he can switch brands twice in one night.

I'm going to attempt to watch Backlash 2004 this weekend. I randomly grabbed a bunch of DVDs from my house to bring up here to Quantico and this was one of them. I remember loving the Triple H/HBK/Wah matches when they were occuring although I was terrified that Wah was going to lose the belt like the day after WM.

I remember one year they literally released all 13 people in it except Chavo

The most exciting thing going on in the WWE, for me, is the post-Wrestlemania releases.

WWE generally talks down to their audience and treats them like they're functionally retarded, but the draft is just so beyond poorly conceived and written that it actively pissed me off that night. All I want is some logic. That's it. Apparently, though, that's too much to ask for.

First, please keep using the word lottery. Calling it a draft makes you look ridiculous. Also, I love how these shows have huge rosters, and yet no one mentions (commentary, backstage, whatever) that this RANDOM, NO REALLY, COMPLETELY RANDOM process managed to not only pick someone twice, but never went lower down than 'main-event-lite'. While I understand it, at least toss someone like Chavo in as the second of two picks or something.

Second, I said this last night, but there is a huge missed opportunity for character development with the draft. Both Orton and Rey were sent out after they were drafted, which means there had to be a (kayfabe) decision made between drafting and the match. Show it! Give us some backstage vignettes about how these choices are being made. Clash of egos, all that. Each guy back there should want to be the one going through the curtain, so even small snippets of discussion would be great.

Third, and this is the big one... RAW AND SMACKDOWN ARE NOT COHESIVE TEAMS. These are not comprised of guys working towards a common goal, they are all against one another. So, with that logic, why is ANYONE cheering when John Cena gets drafted to your show? As a heel, like Swagger, wouldn't you want someone like Cena as far away as humanly possible? I mean, again, even some announcer discussion about how after Cena and Orton got drafted, that the Raw main event scene and title picture has suddenly been blown wide open? Two guys that have dominated the title picture leave the show, and no one feels the need to bring it up? fuck off. Just. fuck. off.

I know, I know, it's all irrelevant. There are always more poorly written storylines throughout the year (KNEEPADS), but the draft is a great concept executed in the worst possible way. Seriously, outside of Vince walking out with a clipboard and announcing the changes, I don't think you could do the draft any worse than they do right now.

... sorry, rant.

Looking forward to the releases, though.

Yes, this has been a functional issue for a while. I think the only year it worked was 2004 since it appeared they had stuff planned.

I also don't get the logic of the same people winning every year. Did anyone think Rey or Orton (despite being pinned by Dolph 2 weeks ago) would lose? Why would anyone, especially a heel, want to win anyway?

Why did both secondary champions job clean as a sheet like chumps?

Do Yoshi, The Usos, Primo, etc all really get excited to defend/be on RAW when they're never on (except to job)?

I think at this point doing a real draft with protected picks is probably a better idea anyway.
Ya know if Punk had also gotten drafted to Smackdown, Mark Henry could have feuded with him for interrupting his being drafted.
Right, but for some reason they decided to turn their entire non-white roster not in masks heel this week.

(To be clear, I'm aware of Kofi's existence. Just an odd observation about the post Mania turns)
First pick of supplemental draft

Daniel Bryan goes to SD

Could be a good spot for him.

Speaking of logic, how did Tits McGee end up going from NXT to Smackdown in the first place. Did he win NXT to be on SD? No? So how is he committed to one show or another? He's del rio's bodyguard, presumably a hired one (to show off del rio's wealth).

Now that del rio's been traded, the sketch last night showed him blowing Clay off as if to intimate that Clay is staying on Smackdown, a *show he isn't on to begin with*.

One of y'all said I should pretend wrestling wasn't scripted, and that I might enjoy it more. After thinking about the gaping holes of logic and nonsense in the current WWE product, I'm pretty sure there aren't any scripts.

If this happens, I swear to Christ I will never watch WWE again....

Also,

Swagger to RAW! Woooo!!!!

They moved Jimmy Uso to Smackdown but not Jey. Looks like JTG is going to raw too. Money money yeah yeah.
They're drafting guys who are going to get released on Friday. That's precious.
Got to give them hope.

I love it when a guy like Swagger, who's been on every episode of Raw for months now, gets drafted to Raw. I'm more of a casual viewer now, really, never watching any show other than Raw, and because of that, I would've sworn he was a member of Raw all this time. Makes his whole pick a waste of time in my eyes.

I'm not a casual viewer, and even I was like "uh, you mean he isn't?......"huh, no shit?" about Swagger's drafting.

I dug WWE's development of the straight-edge messiah gimmick—but they really dropped the ball with CM Punk by not making him really matter as one of their top heels. The New Nexus angle has been real lackluster.

I sort of wish they'd just cut out the middle man and just draft people to Superstars. Would make things so much easier.

Hands up, how many of you think WWE's just makin' this shit up on the fly?

Like, right now this is being discussed at WWE HQ and will be on their website in a bit:
"TYLER REKS!...[whisper]wait, which show is he on?[/whisper]"
"Smackdown."
"TYLER REKS TO RAW!"
"Nah, how about Heath Slater instead?"
"Or maybe Paul Birchall?"
"Does he still work here?"
"Does Tyler Reks?"
"I dunno, phone Alicia at the office to double check."

"No to Birchall, yes to Reks."
"OKAY, TYLER REKS TO RAW, MAKE IT HAPPEN!"

And then blammo, up on wwe.com, it's Tyler Reks to Raw, with some pants-on-backwards stupid headline like "Raw Gets Reks'd."

myke... Deep down, I kind of do hope that's how they do things.

... since you mentioned him, though, does anyone actually know what the story with Tyler Reks was? New-ish guy, stuck into the Bragging Rights match, then completely disappears off the face of the earth. Was there ever a plan for him? I've honestly never understood what happened there.

The Usos were on Raw? Really? No shit.

Kofi Kingston to Raw

(I was hoping for a Sin Cara/Kingston feud on SD.. lame)

Ryder is in the chat on WWE.com waiting to see if he gets drafted.
Ryder is in the chat on WWE.com waiting to see if he gets drafted.

He'll get drafted on Friday to the new WWE show, 90-day no-compete-clause™.
myke... Deep down, I kind of do hope that's how they do things.
Is it a hope as a result of any other possible explanation for their methods means they think they're making sense and/or progress and/or doing the right thing for the talent and the company? If so, I'll agree.

Not sure on Reks. Maybe he "dropped the ball" or some shit. Didn't he take the spot from Danielson abruptly, doing the same thing babyface pussy of the century John Morrison did to newly crowned heel R-Truth?

Was thinking about people pointing out that Mark Henry now has to deal with Michael Hayes as a writers. Funny how you can call talent n*gger to their face, or tweet about a coworker being a f*ggot, and suffer no punishment. But if you choke a dude with a necktie or permit a heel to get heat Iron Sheik style by interrupting the national anthem, fuck you, you're fired.

Jesus, what a company.
