I recently got my shipment confirmation e-mail from Amazon for L.A. Noire (360). Listed in the e-mail was a confirmation of credits I received for pre-ordering. Below is copied directly from the e-mail:

"Congratulations. Your purchase has qualified you for a $15 promotional credit toward the purchase of items shipped and sold by Amazon.com (certain exclusions apply, including Kindle books, MP3s, and video rentals and downloads). The credit will be applied directly to your Amazon.com account within two days after your product ships once processing is complete.

Our Pre-order Price Guarantee covers one or more item(s) in this order. If the Amazon.com price decreases between the time you place your order and the end of the day of the release date, you'll receive the lowest price.

Congratulations. Your purchase has qualified you for a $10 Video Games promotional code. The promotion code will be applied directly to your Amazon.com account up to two (2) business days after your product ships."

Did anyone else get this? If so, that's $25 worth of credit if it sticks.

Did you notice your game price was 59$ on your invoice? Didn't get my shipped email yet, but invoice price went down 99cents.

This isnt a deal. It's most likely just because they had a $10 credit at one point then switched to the $15 credit and those that preordered when they had the $10 are getting both.

Hasnt this happened a couple times now? Next time Amazon changes the amount of a credit before release, I'm ordering from them..

blu did you check your account to verify it's $25? I mean preorder a game then cancel if you want, but see if it actually applies $25 in credit towards the order.

If you ordered when they originally had a $10 credit, then you will probably also get the $15 credit for a total of $25. If you ordered after they switched it to a $15 credit, you will just be getting the $15 credit.

This kind of thing has happened before, and is also why I preordered when they had the $10 credit, thinking that they might update it to a higher amount, which they did. My e-mail also lists both credits.

Didn't know Amazon did this when they changed credits. I'll definitely be pre-ordering games earlier from now on. Thanks for the info.

I won't know if it actually posts to my account or not, since it takes a couple of business days to post. I'll update when I find out.

Well they dont do it every time I dont think. It's not intentional anyway.

Just checked my email and it said $15 for anything sold on Amazon and $10 credit for Video games sold on Amazon. Hopefully that means I'll have $25 for Duke Nukem.

This was in mine as well :D

I swapped to the PS3 version after they updated it to $15 credit :(

I was really hesitant on dropping my 360 pre-order since Amazon has screwed up on double crediting recently. The advantages (lead platform and single disk) outweighed the possibility of an extra $10 though.
I am chatting with an Amazon rep now! :hot:
I have a bad feeling that this may ruin it for those who got it
Good luck
I feel defeat coming...Mr. Zainab does not seem very helpful to the situation.
Why!?
Because I want $10 free credit dollars too. There is no shame in my game, I'm a cheap bastard like the rest of you.

Yeah but you probably won't get it and you'll just ruin it for everyone else. If you do get it though, Kudos!

No! They might fix what happens when they change the preorder bonus credit amount after you've preordered D: !

Fear not my cheap friends, the Indian man/woman I was chatting with was absolutely no help and even caught an attitude with me which I returned.

Yeah Amazon live customer service is pretty disappointing.

If I can't have $10 more, none of you should! Seriously, that's a pretty awesome error. I'll see if a rep can do the same for me.

The person can not really be named Zainab...really?

That's odd, I've always experience great CS with their live chat. Perhaps some people do not have a way with words nor the ability to charm someone? ;)

Zainab:I've confirmed from the concern department and only $15 promotional balance is issued, Jason.

This is what he/she said, I'm just left wondering, what is a "concern department"?

Addendum:

And immediately when I get done with the chat, I get an e-mail saying my order has been shipped...amazing.

This is how I got some extra credit with Portal 2 too. Just be careful not to inform anybody who would care enough to get this fixed, and start preordering your games early!

They could if they are from India, which they are. And in their culture, in their language , Zainab if a perfectly normal name.

And they say the concept that some Americans lack culture and are quite arrogant, considering their lack of intellect, is false...

I don't care about culture, I care about family, friends, video games, movies, beer, and food. You making some sort of moral stand means nothing to anyone other than yourself.

Note: Beer may be higher on the list.

And when you make fun of a guys name simply because you didn't get your way makes you a little whiny bitch.
friend just got confirmation email with the double credit
Do you know if your buddy pre-ordered it back when it included a $10 bonus? I'm going with Shock on this one...which is the most likely case.

Actually, before I ever got denied "my way" I was making fun of his name. I guess we save a lot of money outsourcing customer service.
Anyone not getting a ship confirm? Mine is still "shipping soon" with delivery tomorrow.. but I'm starting to have my doubts.
Same here, but I'm not worried. Prime's word is bond.

Anyone know if I pre order it now on amazon if Ill still get the 10 and 15 dollar credit? If I can then I will for sure and then turn that credit around and get duke nukem.
even with $25 credit kmarts deal is better
You will not.

Pre-ordered at Best Buy for $48.99 + $15 credit, seems about on-par with the other good deals for this one; only complaint is that I have to spend $15 in credit at Best Buy instead of Amazon...
