In before someone says a body in the trunk.

Anyway, I have nothing of any particular interest in my car... except for necessary car stuff, of course. People usually seem to insist on treating any car that isn't theirs as an extra large garbage dump, so I'm sure there's some crap hanging around in it. It would explain the smell.

Nothing much, just some wetnaps in the glove box and an umbrella in the back.

...And of course my zombie apocalypse readiness kit.

The topic makes it seem like you're asking a trunk what's in its car. A more clear sentance would be "What's in your car or trunk?"

But our car and van is always a mess. Fast food reciepts, gas station reciepts (I dont know why my wife saves those). Spare diapers/wipes. Empty bags from snacks we ate on the way there.

Misc chargers for phones we may not have anymore. Action figures or hot wheels that someone has to bring along with them but never got brought into the house. Shoes that got taken off in the car and never made it back inside.
Junk, junk, junk.

It's a good thing to have. I don't bother as I seldom ever drive more than 5 miles or so from home these days since I live and work in a city. If I go further it's just 20 miles or so tops out into the suburbs to go to Costco or a shopping mall or visit a friend who lives out there etc.

I started doing that when I was 16 and I would just crash at peoples places all the time during the summer and would just not go home for extended periods. Just a habit that stuck.
Damn, some of you seem like you're preparing for some sort of Mad Max like scenario.
Maybe you should read gargus' post in the Racism/stereotype thread.

Concerning the mad max comment. Some of us drive long distances to and from work, and visit friends in the state next to us or more than an hour away, so we have to be prepared. I was a cub scout.

It would be nice if I could afford a van.

Are you a rapist?

In my trunk is two window scrapers and a pair of roller hockey skates (hardened boot like an ice hockey skate), a pair of hockey skates and a grocery net.

Backseat is a coat and a couple of newspapers (mostly for booze camoflauge)

Front seat has a pair of skates and a dog tie-out for when I take a dog to a friend's place. The center console is insurance and a copy of my last two or three car repairs.

Relatively clean, lots of dog hair and slobber all over the place.

I'm finally getting a chance to post - all from memory:

GPS
Leatherman Wave
Two pairs of sunglasses
cell charger

lots of rope of various sorts
bungee cords
jacket
quilt
socket wrench set
baby car seat
cargo net
Slime tire stuff
jumper cables
microfiber cloth
tissue paper
headset
mints
deoderant
map

hmm that's probably about it.
