I'm not really a fan of the scaley look, but the fabric cape is a nice touch compared to the plastic one in Superman Returns. Truth be told, I actually liked the SR costume.
 
It's nice and everything, but it comes off as Ultraman more than Superman. Mainly the faded colors, The way he's wearing his hair, and that evil look on his face. I'm hoping it's mainly limited to whatever scene this is though.

Damn it, now all I see is Deidrich Bader. Superman wants to do two chicks at the same time.
 
Deidrich Bader? Eh, I guess in the face a little. He actually does the voice of Batman on that Brave and the Bold show.

But yeah, what's with the fish scales on the costume? Looks like the thing is made of thick rubber.
 
I still dont see how there can be any interest in another superman movie really. Superman is so 2 dimensional its not even funny. He is a unstoppable boyscount and nothing more, he can only be the bright shining example of pure good and if they try any different then its not superman. Superman really is one of the most boring characters ever and we all know everything about him. He is just overplayed, kind of like how spiderman isnt interesting anymore.

Considering how fucking horrible the last superman is I bet they go the opposite direction with the next movie with him so hard that it flops again. Kind of like how DC when the green lantern movie flopped they are making a sequel and saying this will have more action and be darker, so they basically took what people didnt like and went the other direction.

Course with the whole superman lawsuit going on and the fact DC is changing things about his past in order to not have to pay the original creators families money he will be changed up some, but not a lot. Superman will still be superman.

WB is going to make Superman the new Batman - aka dark.

He's already got the whole Zack Snyder "Sucker Punch" atmosphere going in that pic.

Only thing now is to see how it moves in action, although there will be a lot of slow motion action sequences fo sho!
 
Supes is interesting if he's put up against a real threat. They need to get away from having Lex Luthor come up with some scheme and do something like having Darkseid invade earth. That would be an awesome movie, because then he wouldn't have to hold back against someone who can match him, where as with someone like Lex he just ends up giving him to the police. But yeah, the problem is placing him in a situation where the audience feels like he could actually lose, and that isn't easy.

If WB is really going to turn bright and colorful Superman dark, then at least learn do it how Marvel did it with Captain America.
 
Looks okay, hair is the only thing that looks off. Zack Snyder loves fucking with saturation. It fit 300, Watchmen, and Sucker Punch but Superman is supposed to contrast Batman. Hopefully more shots will reveal more of a blue than navy in a daylight shot. I think they're trying to show this film will have more action than the previous.
 
HC just doesn't really have that Superman look. He really does look sort of evil like Ultraman.

Too bad the costume and the script left alot to be desired, but yeah Routh had more of the country boy look and charm that goes with Superman.

it could work as long as they skip the origin and get right into him fighting a well known enemy id like to see zod.
 
It's funny that they gave him the Superman front hair curl as Clark Kent instead from the other posted picture from the set. The top of his boots also look way too close to the knee but that could just be the angle of the shot. Brandon Routh or Tom Welling were still probably better choices for the role.

Yup, he looks WAAAAAY more Ultraman now. His face wasn't doing him any favors and without the red underwear and darker tones he just looks like Ultraman.
 
Wow...Cavil looks HUGE. I can't say I dig the loss of the underoos though; it doesn't break up his mass effectively without something there.

I'm trying to figure in my head though what about Zod needs to be mo-capped if this is true and I'll be honest, all these pictures (and Sucker Punch) are starting to kill more and more hope I have for this film. I Hope I'm wrong, but I'm getting tiny shades of the Tim Burton Superman project, which is making me worry.

Looks like he's wearing a muscle suit and they took cues from Abrams' Superman concept art. Not horrible, but I'm not a huge fan. I'm sure it'll be better in the movie when everything is color-corrected, etc.

Looks like they are using the new Superman costume introduced in the DC Universe that just got rebooted. I guess that means those changes will be around for a while since this movie is not coming out for another year.

Yeah, new suit looks terrible. However, I'll happily go see it if Superman actually gets to beat ass on someone. No more of the Luthor crap -- I want to see two super powers throwin down. Zod better be a badass villian.
