PSP UMD Liquidation at Sony Store (B&M)- 97 cent movies, 4.97 games-YMMV

Stopped by the Sony Store in Boca Raton, FL to find that most all UMD products were on orange tag clearance. Almost all movies were priced at 97 cents, and most games were at 4.97.

Some notable Games off the top of my head were Endwar, Michael Jackson, UFC 2010, Assasin's Creed, and NBA 2k11.

Bad quality but it's always awkward taking pictures of shelves at stores. I always feel like they think I'm casing the place. There's some 4.97 PS3 games down there too, but they were throwaway games.

I ended up picking up Across the Universe, Dogma, Walk Hard, Nick and Nora and Underworld: Evolution. The games didn't do too much for me, especially since i just picked up The 3rd Birthday from Amazon.

Seems like UMDs are really getting the boot now that Vita is coming. Check out your store and give that ol' PSP some love.

shit, wish there was one near me. Only one is several hundred miles away i belive o_O is there a store locator or something for this? I just remember seeing one on the way to disneyland last year, down south

This is a great deal if for nothing else than .97 UMD cases! Replace damaged or nasty ones you get from gamestop and stuff
 
That store's about 15 minutes away from me, if I'm at the mall I'll check it out. Most of they stuff they have there though are 3 year old games priced at the original MSRP >.>

See, and that's what I thought of it too. I went not three days ago, and everything was overpriced. Checked back again today and almost everything was marked down for PSP, and some interesting things for PS3 as well. Black Ops for PS3 was down to $54. That's not much of a deal to us, but it's surprising to see from Sony Style.

In retrospect, I should have picked up some games to flip, considering most of those are still at $20 MSRP. But I really didn't have time to put the work into it with my new job. I may stop by to get UFC or see if Tron: Evolution is dropped to $4.97.

Which reminds me, that's another deal I saw. Tron: Evolution for PS3 at $14.97. I rented it for 360 back in the day, and it's a nice little game to play through over a week. Worth $15 if you liked the movie.
 
Dropped in at the outlet store in Camarillo, CA. No go, they've never heard of this.

This may be regional or limited to non-outlet locations.
 
i'll probably check it out tuesday when i'm back in teh area of my sonystyle store. pass it pretty much everyday. sometimes drop by to see if anythin dropped. looks like i'm headin back :) (was there last time when games were about 10 bucks. picked up buzz quiz world and tv for 10 and 15 each. the one wiht the controllers XD and like a week ago haha)

Sounds like the outlet stores are a miss so far. Just to clarify, this was a "Sony Style" store in a big mall, so go after these stores if you want to go hunting for these. Let me know how the Midtown store looks for these, I'll be back in the city next week.

This may have been a super recent thing, because the employees were surprised at how cheap the movies were when they rang me up. All of them were clearly marked with .97 cent stickers on the front and side.

Flips are tough I'm seeing. Wal-Mart doesn't have much in the way of UMDs, I've run into "Item not in the system" too often there. Gamestop doesn't give much at all for these, in the $4 at most. (Astonishes me to see them charging $20 for used UMD games like Vice City Stories when they can be had for so cheap online.)

I regret not picking up Quarantine and UFC 2010 now, so I'm def going to try and go back another day. I'll be in Miami tomorrow for the U.S Men's Soccer game, so I'm going to try to hit up the Dolphin Mall store as well.
 
nothing all that interesting at the Aurora IL store. they did have secret agent clank and one of the god of war games, but thats about as exciting as it got

Let me save you a trip. The South Coast Plaza store isn't there anymore, it's getting a remodel. They have a temporary new store, but they had nothing.
 
Picked up Nick and Norah's and Dewey Cox for .97 each at the Washington Square (Oregon) location.
 
i'll probably stop by the mall to check this out but i'll doubt there will be anything left since everyone goes to the mall on Saturday
 
Ugh! It's moments like these that makes me angry that my DSi and my PSP got jacked. Ah well, i always have my android phone :(
 
SONY Style store near me had quite a lot on red tag clearance. They had PS3 games marked down to either $10 or $15, blu-rays for $10, PSP games for $5, and UMD movies for $1.

I'm afraid I don't remember all the titles. I'm pretty sure one of the $15 games was Castlevania. And maybe Tron.

$10 games included Super Street Fighter IV, Toy Story 3, Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions, Mafia II, Bulletstorm (both regular and limited edition), Endwar (with the headset), Warhawk (also w/headset), and several others.

$5 games included Phantasy Star Portable, Aragorn's Quest, Lego Harry Potter, etc.

Save yourself the trip strait. I went today and they didn't have any UMD movies at all and the only psp games they had that were discounted aren't even worth mentioning. Also nothing with price drops on anything else (PS3 games, accessories, etc.), at least none that I could find and I was there for quite a while.

Zippon-ditto to what strait said, if you are willing to do a favor for a couple of fellow CAGs, I would also be willing to compensate you in the same or a similar manner.

Thanks for that report. man you just can't get a good game clearance deal in nyc in any place that sells them. Spiderman for 10 is a must get.
 
I have to assume the prices are YMMV since nobody else reported the PS3 games. I'm checking out a SONY outlet today, so fingers crossed. Might come up dry like everybody else or might hit the jackpot.

If I see some extra Shattered Dimensions, I'll grab a couple. :)
 
Knew I should have traded my copy of shattered dimensions awhile back. But endwar or warhawk w/ headset for $10 is pretty good too imo, only because I've been looking to get a headset anyway. Would love one of those for ten bucks :)
 
Took a look at the Sony outlet in the Dolphin Mall in Miami. No markdowns on PSP or PS3 games.
 
sony store prices are ymmv. last time when games were about 15, mine were still 20 or so. i'll let u guys know wat i can get my hands on and if theres any u guys want, i can try to pick them up for u.

Okay, I hit a SONY outlet in San Marcos, Texas. Unlike earlier reports, this one was running the clearance sale. Unfortunately, despite having a much larger number of titles, there were only a few at the $10 point. UFC, Splatterhouse, Bulletstorm, and a baseball game (sorry, I'm not a fan). Nothing too exciting.

Tried going back to the SONY Style store in the mall from yesterday. They were cleaned out. Nearly every title I mentioned was gone. They had one Warhawk and a few Bulletstorms left at $10. So no luck with Endwar or Spider-Man. Sorry.

Strangely, Tron and Castlevania, which were $15 yesterday, were now $10. Plenty of both. The opposite happened at the outlet store. Quite a few of their clearance items had been marked back up in price (you could see the red sticker under the new white one). For example, Resistance 2 CE had been marked back up to $40. I'm not sure what the clearance price was. They also had the GT5 CE for $70, I think.

Off topic, I started playing The 3rd Birthday yesterday and I'm enjoying it so far. Picked it up for $12 on an Amazon Warehouse deal.

Zippon, was the $10 Tron on PSP or PS3?
 
so i checked out my local store. small store so they only had a small selection of ps3 games for 10 but they had a bit more for psp. idk. i saw tron, mafia 2, singularity, toy story 3 for 10 each and ac2 for 15. any of those recommended? picked up splatterhouse and spiderman myself for 10 each.
didn't check out the umd movies but i'm probably gonna head back when i have time between stuff. anything anyone want me to try and get my hands on? i feel like my store just restocks when things sell because of limited shelf space.

@ Zippon - Ditto on the question about Tron. Id be interested if it were the PS3 edition.

I was in the Sony store at the Valley Fair Mall in San Jose yesterday. I don't remember all of the titles, but I will be going back tomorrow if anyone has particular requests. I do recall Fallout New Vegas was only $9.97 as I was mulling it over. No UMDs were left and the best value game wise was Birth By Sleep for $14.97. Ill take note of the sub $10 stuff tomorrow.
 
Oh I forgot to come by and mention that the Dallas Galleria store had a pile of Bulletstorm's for $10 and a few Splatterhouse's for $10, if anyone is interested.

West Hollywood Sony store (Beverly Center) was a bust unless you want a cheap Bulletstorm, Splatterhouse or MK vs DC. No clearance on PSP stuff. Most prices mentioned in this thread were not applicable.
