Assassin's Creed III Ubiworkshop Edition $99.99 till July 4th with free shipping!
Encyclopedia: Hardcover // 336 pages

Well... guess it's ok if you don't mind paying $40 for both books.
The encyclopedia alone is $50, so that's a good deal.

i personally dont think is a good deal ...everyone knows this game will be 35 on BF. So you will be paying 65$ for the books. ..but that is just my opinion.

no offense but real CAGs use wikipedias and other online guides opposed to paying extra for guidebooks or this... encyclopedia?

Why buy an art book when you have google image?

So the incentive are the artbook & guide..? Pfff, I might be a AC fan but no way I'd pay this much for something I will probably just skim through once and never touch again.

no offense, but real cags shouldn't even be using this site.
buying games with real money is dumb.
real cags hang out at best buy/gamestop/walmart/friend or stranger's home indefinitely and play the games for free.
:bouncy:

Speaking of Ubishop, anyone remember when they had Ghost Recon Future Soldier listed for $40 back in July 2010? Yeah, I totally forgot until I got a shipping notice from them yesterday saying my game is on the way. None of my credit cards are good from back then, so I'm wondering free game???

Oh please

I just watch complete walkthrough videos on Youtube for free

So then a true CAG bangs a blow up doll than wasting cash on a real girlfriend?

I sincerely hope we have other collector's editions. The ones offered in Europe are far more impressive IMO, and that's funny with a title in the series being based on America. Hope they announce more than this.

I'm pretty sure a 336 page hardcover book is not an "art book", but by all means read your wikipedia entries. I ordered the book separately and I will probably not grab the new AC for a while anyway, so this deal isn't for me I don't think. Plus I'll be getting that Borderlands 2 loot chest 2 months prior :p

I think the set is pretty cool, but I'm not sure I'll get it. I have a hard time paying for a work in progess encyclopedia. Plus the UK got the sweet Join or Die and Freedom collector sets.

I'm not sure some of you are aware of what these books are. The encyclopedia is WAY more than an "art book". Some of these comments make it sound like they are offerring some strategy guide and there is nothing resembling that here.

Given the cost of those books separately (and the first softcover edition of the Encyclopedia sold out and fetched decent prices on Ebay), this is a good deal for anyone interested. I almost ordered this second edition of the encyclopedia a few weeks back and am glad I didn't - with shipping, it's not too far away from what this whole set costs shipped.

Pure badass! If you are interested in these items, this is actually a very good deal. Cancelling my encyclopedia order and jumping on this right now.

Yeah, it's an encyclopedia on being an assassin's for christ's sake. That's gota be more valuable than those books on how to get into investment banking or management consulting.
Did anyone else get charged right after placing an order.
UbiWorkshop does charge on ordering. I had ordered the Encyclopedia along with The Fall comic for $73 shipped, so I cancelled that order once I saw this available. I emailed and they sent me the money back via Paypal within about 2 hours.

If we get something like the Freedom edition I'd be torn about what to do.

Correct me if I'm wrong but nothing is exclusive about ordering this except maybe saving a few bucks. These items can be purchased individually.

Also, what version of the game is it? Bi-lingual covers with English and French?

they probably charged your card back in 2010. I had my card charged then and received a shipping notice yesterday as well. I had to call 7 times to get them to ship our copies. ubisoft claims anyone who ordered back in 2010 had their order screwed up and there was no timetable for when we would get our copies. I called them everyday until they fixed the situation. And they didn't even overnight my order like I was told...

It's bad enough they charged in 2010 for a game that shipped in 2012 but to not even ship me my copy on time is a joke

Needless to say I will never order from ubi's store again.

So wait a sec, Europe has the options of the awesome Join or Die, and Freedom editions. And all we get in North America is the normal version and this bullshit version of a collector's edition?

All I'm saying is that this is just not for me sadly, I'm just not too big with this sort of stuff, to me it feels like a glorified 'artbook' with words on it. I rather have something nicer for display.

I agree, I hope we get either one of those editions or something similar to it, cause right now I think I'm set to getting the regular edition.

Oddly, my invoice I pulled up on the order doesn't say how I paid for it. I'd rather not have the game as I already beat up via Redbox and was rather unimpressed. Oh well, hopefully I can get $40 in trade for the game at Best Buy next week with their 100% trade-in promo. =P

One thing I've noticed about Ubiworkshop, is that it's not clear how to cancel an order. I need to cancel my original encyclopedia order, but can't figure out how to do it. Had to email CS. Hope its not a pain in the backside to cancel. Worst case, I get the extra encyclopedia and sell it to a fellow CAG or on ebay.

Hmm...I already have a pre-order at Gamestop for ACIII, but this looks nice. Wish you could remove the game and only pay $40 for the two books.

I emailed them and got an email back within about two hours. They said that since it was more than 60 days since my order, they had to refund via Paypal.

And no, there doesn't seem to be anything exclusive in this (although they don't seem to have the compilation of the two graphic novels available separately). It's definitely a good deal financially though, as my order for just the encyclopedia and first graphic novel was $73 shipped - definitely nice to get the game and second graphic novel for only an additional $27

I messaged Ubi on Twitter to see if there's any chance we can get the extra missions available at GameStop and with those Freedom/Live Free or Die missions. I'm doubtful, but I'll update if I hear anything

I emailed and called mutiples times also. ridiculous, I was told we should get some kind of compensation also besides getting the game for all the problems we had.

Same here, and I asked twice how I paid but no answer. I checked and I don't think I was charged then, I think they did a hold then but took it off. For some, but not sure. May depends on person?

I have a thread on the subject but nobody ever joined

Still no reply from Ubi. What email did you send your question to?
meeeeh. I like trinkets on my shelf :p
"Knowledge is power. Content is king. You have enough gadgets on your shelf already. These 3 wise sayings guided our hands while we conceived Assassin’s Creed III Ubiworkshop Edition."

Damn son, looks like they told you. hahaha, just kidding. :p

IMO, this is not a good deal at all. These ubisoft games drop in price fast usually, and unless you really want a hard-copy textbook for a video game series... well it's really kind of silly to me anyway.
Yeah, it's an encyclopedia on being an assassin's for christ's sake. That's gota be more valuable than those books on how to get into investment banking or management consulting.
Reading that investment banking book has also got to be more valuable than posting on a video game deals message board. Yet, here you are.

For anyone interested in that encyclopedia book (and it's apparent many of the naysayers posting don't have a clue what it is), this is a really good deal. As someone else posted, for many the cost of the encyclopedia book + shipping alone is going to be between $65-$75. For me, I'd rather have that book than a plastic figure.

I would like the Freedom Edition, but even if you get this version you could easily trade in the copy of AC3 towards another game you want and get most of your money back and still save on the Encyclopedia and Subject 4 books. Then you could just keep your collector's copy. I'm planning on doing that since I already have AC3 preordered from Gamestop I'll just tade in this copy towards Black Ops 2.

Got the reply from Ubiworkshop, refund for the encyclopedia came via paypal. They have very friendly customer service! I'm glad I went with the Ubiworkshop ed of this game, it's going to be a great bundle at a great price.

Just got an apology email from Ubisoft on the delayed shipping for my Ghost Recon Future Soldier copy. They included a code for the Signature Edition unlocks from the Gamestop preorder, not too shabby as I wasn't even complaining.

I got my game today and the compensation are just unlockable guns.. (I received an email with some sort of code) Pretty fucking shiity if you ask me. We should have atleast received the incoming DLC for free.

I'm so pissed I might just trade this in as long as I can get my $40 back. No need to support this piss poor company with horrible customer service.

you didn't complain... but plenty of us did. We were told that everyones order shipped and ours would not ship for reasons they did not know. It wouldn't be so bad except they charged our orders 2 years ago.

I even called them the week before the game came out to make sure everything was good to go with my order and they said it would ship monday.... well two weeks later I finally received it.

They probably wouldn't have given us anything if we werent so vocal about the situation.

Got my code, was wondering what the stuff was from. Is it available individually or is this only for us and the GS pre's? We should have gotten more for the crap they pulled.

Well thank you, good sir! I definitely appreciate the hard work you guys put into pressuring Ubisoft. Now I'm just wondering when my actual game is supposed to show up. =P

re check that.
I thought this as well as I remember being charged. Appearently it was only a placeholder that dropped off. I went and rechecked my July 2010 statement and there was NO charge. I was just charged yesterday.

Not me. I used paypal which gave me an immediate charge. I have my credit card statement sitting next to me from 2010 in case they charge me again..

I hope your good, I'd hope you don't have to fight them again. This whole thing was a major fail.

Out of curiosity, did you guys having trouble with your Ghost Recon orders order through Ubi Workshop, which mostly does low-production apparel, art, and books, or through the main Ubi store?

The main store, but I would imagine the workshop uses digital river to ship out just like the main store. ubisoft tried to blame digital river for not getting back to them as to what the problem actually was with all of the 2010 preorders...
