I'm not very familiar with Total Access, but I learned about this promotion over at NeoGaf.

You signup here:

https://t.co/s3I4dXMR

It will ask for a form of payment, and you can check the expiration date in your account, which will probably be in January 2013.

The NeoGaf thread will likely answer some questions you may have. It's one game or movie at a time. The selection seems very limited, but hey, a 6-month trial is very good.

UPDATE:

Okay, the deal originally stated that we would get unlimited rentals for six months after we sign up. Unfortunately, the service seems to have limited this deal to two rentals per mail and two instore exchanges per month. Some CAGs have said they contacted customer service about this, and I still haven't gotten my third shipment, so it looks like it may be true. It's a bummer, but at least we still get to use the service for the six months.

Surprised they haven't modified this, it's been on SD for a few days now.

Mine expires on January 14th, 2013. Too bad the video game selection sucks big time. Not too bad for your occasional movie though.

I posted this in the free stuff forum a week ago, but it hardly got any exposure. I wasn't sure if it could be posted here.
I'm worried this isn't actually 6 months... where does it say 6 months? I signed up anyways but just worried it may only be a 1 month trial or something
When you sign up, go to my account and it should show Jan (something), 2013 next billing date.

Also this is not a mediocre deal. You get 6 months of free game rentals, how is that not win no matter how long the shipping is or the selection.

 You'll see.

As long as you don't expect any game that's been out for less than 18 months or a working copy when you eventually receive a game, it's a mediocre deal.

I can get all 5 seasons of Battlestar Galactica on Blu Ray - not too shabby at all. On the gaming side of things, the selection certainly pales in comparison with Gamefly's. I've got a healthy backlog so i really don't mind if it takes them a while to find a game i actually want to play.

I do know how it works. I tried a one month not too long ago. They have a shoddy collection but they still have a bit of few games I'd like to try out. And as most cheapassgamers have healthy backlogs, I don't mind the wait since it is 6 months long.

I have a PS3 so I usually don't have to worry about non-working games as BluRays can handle conditions better than 360's.

How I see it, it is a good deal. You don't, move on.

I'll sign up for this later on. Thanks OP!

thanks, signed up for this. i'll try my luck with older games that I didn't feel like buying, lol. still have a huge backlog though, so i'll add some blu-rays to my queue as well.
When will people learn that you don't have the right to complain about something IF IT'S FREE?!?
Food in the garbage is free. Doesn't mean you go around eating it.

Some people do, and some have to. The BB deal is free, no matter how shitty it may be. I used them before, I know how crap they are but as a supplement to my GF subscription, it can't hurt. It's free. :)

Doesn't mean you have to go into the house and complain about it...

Anyways... I signed up, should save me a few bucks in redbox movie rentals at least which is nice. I may use the instore trade in program to rent a game or two even.

I signed upa few days ago. My son wanted me to buy Battlefield 3 when it was $40 at GS. There's no way I wanted to spend that much on it so this is perfect - especially since he'll play it for a few days and then toss it aside. It is shown as "Short Wait" and they sent me a DVD in the mean time, but that's OK. But do they really take as long as they say for shipment? It says to expect it Thursday and the mailed it Monday. I guess I've been spoiled by Netflix's 1-day shipping ;).

On the other hand, BBV seems to have some stuff Netflix doesn't.

Unfortunately store exchanges are pretty much not going to happen since they closed the one 1/2 mile from my house. The remaining stores are 20+ miles round trip. But I guess it depends on how it works. I know you have unlimited exchanges - but once you get something from the store, do you have to return it there or can you mail it back?

Just found out that if you already had a free trial it won't allow you to do this one. It said WELCOME BACK.
Meh.... Has anybody tried making an account with a new email address to see if it will allow the trail?

Try with a different credit card, too.

I've got a Blockbuster 6 miles away that has the vast majority of the games i'm interested in in stock. Could i simply rent any available Blu Ray and exchange it for a game in store? I'm curious because it says "Unlimited In-Store *Movie* Exchanges" under subscription plan

They do take as long as they say if not longer, and if you get a rental from a store you have to return it to that store. Keep in mind in-store game exchanges are limited to the .99 titles. They've also had problems since mid-June with online rentals getting checked in.

Keep a spreadsheet of when they shipped, when you got it, when you sent it back, when it was checked in, and if the disc was damaged enough to be unusable.

If he likes to play online he is going to need a 10 dollar pass to play

I signed up for it November 1st of 2011 for a month trial, but that was in store. Unlimited rentals of games and movies, nevermind I guess its different.

Thanks OP, lots of new stuff out and older tv shows, movies and games I would like to get caught up with.

Weird, I got the "Welcome Back" message as well (though I used a different email and credit card #), but when I check my account info, it still shows the next billing date as January, 2013. Whatever. As long as that's true, I'm good!

Proudly riding BBV all the way into the ground!

Back when Blockbuster offered the unlimited game plan rental in the store, it was great! Since the 3 stores that were close to me have shut down, I tried the mail rental thing twice and their selection of games is horrible. Forget getting anything new, you will have to wait months for that.

Hey to everyone who did a trial before with blockbuster like me just make a new account with a different email and use a different credit card, I got it working from that but I still haven't tried to use the same credit card that I used in the old trial, but give it try it's worth it for some free games.

I have a couple of blockbusters close to me, what identification do I need to get the game over there.

didn't see a clear answer to someone's question earlier, but i have the same one. All the games online that I want to rent are Long Wait so I'm wondering if I can just go into the store since it says they have all of them in stock now. What's the deal with that? Can we just go in the store and get it or do we have to use the slow online service?

how do I go about walking in and picking up something new to play/watch? Do I have to have a disc shipped to me to start it?
