The Phantom Pain is a game that was just announced at the VGA's. Do you think this is a brand new IP or is there any possibility that this is some sort of Metal Gear Solid game. The character looks like Snake (or Big Boss). What do you all think?

Well if this is MGS5, my guess is MGS5 will show the turning point of Naked Snake, his downfall. The 'fake' studio name Moby Dick, alleged Naked Snake's missing arm (allusion to other MGS games and Captain Ahab), and that whale chomping down on Snake. Whoever the primary antagonist is in MGS5 I think Naked Snake will blame for the Boss' death, and out for misguided revenge. Of course this is purely my own speculation.

Also, I'm a bit rusty on my MGS lore...who could this possibly be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nSfajBs2nyQ at 0:52 mark? Looks like a little girl?

*edit* Also, that end silhouette that looks sort of like Psycho Mantis, I think is a whole new character. I think it's the same 'little girl' at the 0:52 second mark, and that Russian Lady voice at the end.
Who is that burning man at 2:31 mark?

There should be no doubt after all that's popped up since Friday that this is 100% Metal Gear related. The Joystiq and Kotaku articles put all the pieces together perfectly.
 
My first reaction to the trailer was something MGS, even before all the articles started popping up. As soon as they showed the back of his head I said, "that's snake."

There's an overwhelming resemblance to Snake/MGS. The body strap the guy's got, the way he crawls and even the text for "Moby Dick Studios", all scream Snake or MGS in one way or another.

But I honestly wonder how they plan to follow up MGS4. The MGS series is so convoluted already...

Fixed I am betting it is Kojima's new IP that he was talking about.
