Good. Hopefully there will be a good deal on Dark Knight Rises. This is also good timing for Dark Knight Returns Part 2.

Do they track what titles you bring in? One of the Rightstuf blind box discs I ordered was something I traded in to Best Buy from a past Upgrade and Save promotion. Am I allowed to trade it again?

Might pick up a few back catalog titles during this. Especially Dr. Strangelove which never seems to go on sale.

New sig coming soon.

They don't usually track a thing. In all of the times I've done it, they never scanned a single DVD case and most of the time they didn't even bother to open the DVD case or print a formal receipt, just hand out the $5 off coupons that have a generic SKU. The times I didn't have enough DVDs to dump off, I just took one of the U&S coupons and made duplicates of it which had no hassles of problems being accepted. Oftentimes the store itself will even make duplicates and just hand them out.

SPLASH!

Love this program, since it helped me turn my HD-DVD collection into cheap Blu-Rays.

So I got a old dvd or two I could trade in, but the only blurays I'd actually want now after black friday are:

Transformers 1
Star Trek (2009)

Anyone know if these are $10 anywhere? My local BB is really good about Price Matching and I'd love to pick these up at $5 a pop (especially with all my trade in credit)

thanks in advance

I trade in 5 movies I get 5 $5 off coupons for blu which DON'T stack on a total order say I buy a expensive boxset I dont get $25 off it.

I have to spend it like this

movie 1 - $5 Dredd
movie 2 - $5 something
movie 3 - $5 They Live
movie 4 - $5 Red Dawn
movie 5 - $5 Cyborg

The only two rules that exist for this promo are no porn and no homemade/burned DVDs are accepted. Other than that, they don't care. I've read that all they do is throw them all in a recycle bin anyhow. Not sure if serious, though.

I'm a little confused but yes I think you got it right.

You get $5 off each of those

Also, for those who plan on getting the coupons and buying something later on, definitely get a receipt. You can get away with no receipt during the same visit, but many times you will need a receipt if you come in at a separate time. YMMV though.

Going to see if they will accept some of my old anime press screeners. The cover art and/or disc art are not final (ADV was always cheap about that) but they are legitimate.

I find it's best to go in, track down what you want, then plant them somewhere, go back and get the exact right amount of DVDs, and then go back inside since the coupons have an expiration date.

Bought Horrible Bosses yesterday for $12.99, still havent opened. Looks like time for a return to get that extra $5 later. The definition of a Cheapassgamer.

youd only be able to do that if its $12.99 one of the weeks of the promo.

When you trade in DVDs from your collection be careful what you trade it, enter the titles on Amazon and see if it has any value on the used resale market. it would be really bad to trade in a DVD you could sell for 30 dollars for 5 bucks off a 10 dollar Blu-Ray.

You can also trade in individual discs from box-sets as long as each title has a box of it's own, thin pack or regular size(maybe one day MP Flying Circus will come on blu-ray). You really can nearly trade in anything as long as it's commercial release. I have the MP Holy Grail collectors box, but the disc broke, now I do have it on blu-ray, but I wanted a disc for this box. I found a regular 2 disc copy at a yard sale, took out the movie, put the bonus disc in a Single disc dvd box, and trade it in. They never even looked.

Transformers 1 Bluray is $20 right now at my local BB, didn't see any Star Trek blurays.

Guess this one just isn't gonna help me :-/

I always check first, but pretty much every time the $5 off coupon is way better that what Amazon is offering (usually 25 cents in my experience).

Most of my DVDs for this are either old screeners/samplers or old anime singles that have been released in boxsets multiple times (pre-Platinum Eva, Kodocha, and Case Closed mostly).

Maybe Michael or Shrike can answer this...

How will the U&S coupons work on a preorder? I preordered Taken 2 yesterday. Will I be able to apply the $5 coupon when I pick the movie up on release?

More then likely you'll have to do a return and rebuy to apply the coupon. That's what I'm thinking but I could be wrong, when you pick it up you also might be able to just give them the coupon and they could apply it then.

You'd use it at time of release when you go to pick it up.

I've done it with a "trained" OMS worker before. YMMV on their expertise.

Batman Begins and The Dark Knight steelbooks are still 9.99 at my local store. Hope they remain so for this deal so I can get the Batman Begins one. I totally missed TDKR steelbooks. Were they one day only?

If you have a big lots or a 99 cent store check them out, I bought a few dollar movies that I traded in last time, the best buy employees were even laughing at some of the titles

I just grabbed a couple of DVD's from Goozex while they are having their "no token promotion". Figure they'll get here in about a week or two and I have some fodder for this.

A bunch of Best Buys had a good deal of the steelbook version of TDKR the week of release since a lot of people opted to get the Trilogy set since it was about $5 more than the movie alone.

By now they may very well be gone in store. I know my local Best Buy ran out of copies.

Here's a link to the steelbook online:
http://www.bestbuy.c...56.p?id=2616632

(As a side note, I ordered the steelbook version of TDKR online and ended up with the regular version. Ended up having to swap it at my local Best Buy to make sure I got the steelbook. So beware that you may not get the steelbook if you choose to order online)
