NewEgg.com - Black Xbox 360 wired controller $26.99, 05/07/13-05/08/13, free ship

posted about this in the amazon thread. Good deal, though I've got all the controllers I need. Wisj you could just buy the dongle cheap, so I could the wireless ones on PC. I see some third party ones for cheap on amazon, but does anyone have experience with these?

Sorry, slightly OT.

Bought one to use for my PC. I'll be sure not to coil the wire all the way around this time :X

ShopRunner eligible too. Also, I emailed CS right away to tell them to ship it in a box. I know damn well they're gonna ship this in a bubble mailer.

ill have to bite for this price but i honestly feel like xbox 360 controllers are a rip off... i mean the ps3 has the battery inside and has motion sensing for the same price at retail.

Does anyone use this for emulation, and does it work well?

I was thinking of getting the wireless adapter to use my wireless controller but a lot of CAGs said the wireless controller/adapter combo isn't the best idea.

I've played quite a few N64 games on wired 360 controllers, it's good.

I disagree. I'd much rather use my pre-charged NIMH Sanyo Eneloops or Duracell batteries in the 360 controller, than have an embedded, non-replaceable battery as is used in the PS3 controller. The pre-charged NIMH batteries hold their charge very well for up to a year, and are easy to pop in and out of the 360 controller when you need a fresh set. The PS3 controller battery is really not replaceable, so you just buy a new controller if your battery dies, and you can't swap a fresh set of batteries into it when the charge is low.

I also think the 360 controller is good quality for the price you pay, both the wireless and wired controllers. It has a great layout and just feels very natural and comfortable in your hands, unlike the PS3 controller (which is OK but not as good).

Thanks OP for the heads up, I picked up one of these wired controllers from Newegg for the same price a few weeks ago, really great for PC games that support controllers! This is a great price for the wired controller for sure.

I have a newer Xbox controller for use with PC gaming and while I appreciate it for what it is... It is cheaply made. A dualshock 3 has way more durability. Too bad sony doesn't release drivers to use it for PC :/

Bought one of these when they first went on sale since my older one was starting to show its age. Love it for most of my PC games. Also not sure of the tech behind it but my PC shows different drivers for this one and the white.one, whicn is nice so I can keep my custom drivers for older games without direct-x input.

I have an official MS wireless receiver. Basically new without packaging and cd drivers. Received it with my controller a while back and never play games on my PC. PM me if interested.

Google DS3 Tool. Its a third party driver for windows to use the ps3 controller. Works well once you have it set up. If you have the right blue tooth dongle, you can use bluetooth... If not, you can use it corded.

This comes at a great time for me. The A button on my current wired controller is starting to give out, and I've got a local tournament to attend next week. And since I didn't have enough money to buy one of these when Amazon had them for $30 last week, I'm really grateful this sprang up. I just hope it gets here soon so I can have a little time to break it in. :p Thanks OP!

Agreed except analog sticks drift comes to fast and so far not ps3.

I use it for all my emulators. Nintendo, GBA, SNES, Sega stuff, N64 and PS1. Works great, only thing is the D pad kinda sucks for side scrollers and whatnot.

For owners of Dualshock 1/2/3 controllers who want to use them on PC, download a program called MotioninJoy. It will emulate Xbox 360 controllers, I use it to emulate a PS2 and PS3 controller as a 360 to play Sonic All Stars racing Transformed on PC.
I'm guessing the only way to get an official wire adapter is from the play and charge kits right?
Play and Charge kits do not transfer data, and therefore do not work as USB hookups for wireless controllers when you are lacking the wireless dongle.

Got my controller today. It was shipped in a bubble mailer even though I had requested for it to be shipped in a box, but luckily no damage at all whatsoever.

Tempting. Don't know if I should pick one up now or hold out and see if it hits $20.
