3DS XL pixely?

When I bought my DSi XL I was disappointed that it was so pixelated and gross looking being a blown up version of the games. I was wondering if the 3DS XL suffered from the same issue. Is it less crisp than the regular 3DS?

Yup, less crisp, but really not bad at all in my opinion, I hardly notice it and I have OCD about these sort of things. By the way, white text is good for spoilers, but not much else. On the white CAG theme it looks like you posted nothing.

Having never owned a 3DS before I got my Animal Crossing XL, I honestly think the display on it is pretty great. I knew that this was something to be worried about, from friends telling me when they went from DSi to DSi XL and then from 3DS to 3DSXL, but I love the huge screens on it.

Go to a Target or other store that has them on display and see what you think? It does look more pixely by nature, but it still looks good. I'm envious of the big screens while playing Animal Crossing on our regular. :(

I've owned both, and I noticed no degradation, but I don't generally look for it.  I have a friend who hated the DSI xl because of the pixelation, and he didn't notice very many pixelation problems at all.  He liked playing on the 3ds xl.

I've only seen it on a store display. It's noticeable, but tolerable. If you have the system 5 inches from your face, you probably don't need the XL anyway.

Honestly the only time I REALLY noticed it, was at a store display where they had a regular 3DS and the XL right next to each other.  While the larger screen is a little more pixelated, it's not bad.

What the bigger screen does get you is a lot better 3D effects.  I can barely see the 3D effect on the normal sized screen, and it makes my head hurt after a few minutes.  On the XL, the larger screen accommodates the 3D effects much better, and I can play for quite a long time with no issues.

It's not bad, and well worth any slight trade off for the larger screens IMO.

Agree about the 3D.  Though I'm more inclined to just turn it off as the novelty has worn off for me.  Just too much hassle to keep it at the ideal distance and angle to see it clearly given I'm pretty fidgety.
