Would The Orange Box be Steam redeemable? I would rather have digital games from one source whenever possible, instead of having to shuffle with the GameFly app too.

Even with the "upgrade" i was wishing it would be more then cosmetic.  Would love to know the DRM because it stops me from buying al together.  Games like virtua tennis, space siege, and alpha protocol...if they are steam i will buy..if not..meh.

There doesn't seem to be the discount on either Lost Planet games even though they're supposed to start today

Edit: Sale is now in effect

So I assume with Lost Planet 1 & 2 the lack of notice that This title installs and requires the Steam Client to play (which is present on the page for the 3rd game) means no Steam?

Yes, it is not Steam. I know because I just purchased Lost Planet 1.

So, Lost Planet.

It's not steam, so I had to run the Gamefly client, which always requires an update and then puts it's links all over the place once it does  (kind of annoying).

Downloaded and installed the game through the client and now it fails activation and requires that I contact support to activate.  Yeesh, I wanted to return the game the moment I realized it was not steam, but this is just icing on the cake.

There is a reason no one ever wants to buy digital downloads for non-steam services.

Oh geeze. I wonder if it uses GFWL.I checked and both LP 1 & 2 are for sale on the soon to be shut down Microsoft GFWL marketplace.

If this was Origin you could get a refund. Wondering if even Gamefly might give you a refund since you can't get it to play.

I'm confused, why are the flash sale games not at their flash sale prices?

Why is half life 2 not 2.49?

Oh, I hope Lost Planet 1 and 2 get moved to Steam.

I have LP1: Colonies from Retail, actually - still ain't touched it.

Anyways, LP2 [Steam version] will be 75% off on Sunday on GMG, according to their PlayFire Blog.

According to Shacknews, that'll make it $4.80 after coupon (if coupon stays).

Will that the be cheapest it'll have been?

Greenmangaming's retail price for LP2 is $30 so at 75% off it will only be $7.50 and then I guess $6 if you take the extra 20% off for the voucher. I'm not sure where Shacknews is getting that 80% off from but that's not what the Playfire (which is owned by GMG) blog says.

AFAIK this Gamefly deal is the cheapest it has been and price history sites seem to back that up, but I'm not touching it with without a Steam key but requiring the Gamefly client and most likely GFWL too.

Yeah, we'll see what support says. It failed at some sort of Gamefly client activation unlock sequence, but no idea why.

It did have another unlock sequence prior that seemed successful. Either way, my fault for buying a non Steam key.

Yeah people i doubt many developers will even care to remove GWFL from their games. They have no reason to spend money to do so. Especially when it was done a lot of times because it used the same infastructure as the 360 XBL.

Well, here's the thing - if a game has activation DRM (like Securom Internet versions or even M$'s Server-Side Activation) and they actually want to keep selling the games on digital sites (like Steam) to new customers, they're gonna have to do something.

B/c if HL2 was $3.00, we'd expect Half-Life 3 to be confirmed. ;)

Either way, I am skeptical and I am not expecting anything.

As much as I'd love for it to happen. GFWL is a piece of shit that needs to die.

Same with Uplay. Having 2-4+ layers of DRM on a game you bought on steam(Which is already a layer of DRM) is fucking ridiculous.

I got The Orange Box for $3.99. I've been looking to get it for years now and it finally happened!
