I've been playing ESO since beta and highly enjoy the game.  I welcome the monthly sub cost as hopefully it will deter a lot of undesirables.  The game has had its issues and growing pains, but the game is worth it.

Someone was telling me there is no instancing at all so that a lot of dungeons are just camped until bosses spawn is this true?

I thought it would be six months, but I'm thinking even less. Game stats seem even lower, twitch stats are getting GW2/FF reborn levels and it hasn't even been that long. It guess it really depends on how stubborn they are/thought out the F2P model, they will have to consider things either way with the amount of money they spent making the game. When it goes F2P it won't be Phantasy Star Online 2 or TERA, there's definitely going to be pay to win elements.

I think the game is a terrible MMO for PC, but when it releases for consoles people may like it if they aren't familiar with the genre.  I don't see it being F2P for PC and having a sub on consoles at the same time.

I don't know if there's no instancing at all, but the reviews all mention that the dungeons are full of people and bots camping for bosses.  I can only imagine how much worse this will be if the game goes free-to-play.

I believe this is being fixed.

ESO is a truly unique and very enjoyable game; At $40, I'd definitely give it a try.

The sub cost won't deter idiots. I been a WoW player for years and trust me, there are just as many idiots on a $15 a month game vs a F2P. Nice price for the game though.

There is phasing and instancing.  There are solo dungeons which are not instanced, and yes there was a huge bot problem.  ZO has taken great strides to reduce bots and change mechanics a bit to make the act less alluring.  You also have group dungeons that are instanced.  These are the ones that provide a challenge and most are 4-man groups.

The PS4 and XBOne versions have been delayed for six months, but they've got a nice upgrade offer for PC/Mac users if you buy and play the game by the end of June -

For $20, eligible PC and Mac players will have the option to add a full, digital version of ESO on either the PS4 or the Xbox One with your character transfer(s), and another 30 days of included game time.

Thought i'd bump this since now the game is down to $30 at, GS, Amazon & BBY (so $24 after GCU).

I'm guessing this is the new SRP?  Really curious if the PC version will end up being free to play before the console ones even come out.

Yeah cost never deterred morons in an mmo.

You know what deters them? Difficulty. Everquest for instance in MMO's is like comparing demons souls to a rugrats game. Everquest kept out the retards because it was hard but once they started adding in portal stones, adding in all kinds of bonus stats you could raise, adding in gear with lots of stats, a natural healing state, mounts, instances and geared the game to be easier to attract more people then the game went downhill. In its day you were forced to work with others because it was so damn hard. I could get a group that stayed together for 8 hours and we talked the whole time and had fun, I could walk into a zone and say hi and people said hi back and I got whispers to join their groups, and people were considerate to other players.

That's why world of warcrafts community sucks, because they have made the game incredibly easy and mindless. Easy mmos lead to bored players, bored players turn into asshole players.

Any other MMO's that went free to play in that time?

Thanks. Hmmm, tempted to try it out at that GCU price. Between my game ADD and backlog I will probably hardly play it though.

Anyone who is playing, have they worked out a lot of issues over the past month?

Check out the Angry Joe review on Youtube.  It's very informative, and I think your question is answered there.

Yes, they have ironed out a lot of bugs and balance issues over the last 2 months.  The game was plagued with broken quests upon launch but now most have been fixed.  That's not to say that some of the content seems bugged when it's actually just a bit touchy.

Class balance is the hot topic currently.  Most people will argue that Dragonknights are too over-powered followed by Sorcerer.  Then there are others that cry about Nightblades being so horribly broken that they can't play.  It's typical MMO complaints at this point.

Actually, don't check out the Angry Joe review.  A lot of the things he was "complaining" about has been fixed or was overly exaggerated.  Angry Joe doesn't necessarily know as much as he lets on in his reviews.  He takes all of the negatives that have been floating around and compiles them into a video (not my cup of tea, but I don't fault him too much).

I agree to this mostly.  I loved EQ; I was playing it in college before Kunark was released and continued until somewhere around Underfoot.  Though I liked a lot of the advancements they came out with, some were a bit ridiculous.  While playing ESO, I would constantly compare it to EQ and how easy it was in comparison.  Unfortunately, you can't release a highly complex game like EQ anymore as players have shorter attention spans and are more fickle.

ESO has taken a different approach on a lot of the MMO mechanics (most positive, some head-scratching).  My biggest disappointment was how fast one could get to endgame content in ESO.  I played EQ for 9 years or so and never reached level cap (I enjoyed exploring and crafting too much).  ESO could make some improvements, but it's a much better experience then most other MMOs out there.

Old Republic took less than a year; lost a $20 bet on that.

It didn't go F2P in less than 6 months though which is what i asked.
