HP Stream 7 Tablet 32GB $79.00 + $25 Windows Store Gift Card + Free 1-year Office 365 Personal subscription (via Microsoft on eBay)

Any idea how long this price is good? I'm waiting for a $25 GC to be sent to me from a previous deal.

Is this what it's like to be stuck in the Dell GC cyclone?

I think your $25 gift card is on the the confirmation email they sent you when you ordered. I had the same problem when I bought it. You have to use your tablet and the original email to register for the gift card. I personally love this tablet, it's fast and works great.

This deal has been live for like 3+ months. Also, it's a credit for the windows store if i remember correctly that can only be spent on apps and what not.

Windows 8 RT right?
That's what I was wondering and according to Amazon reviews:

It's Windows 8.1 with Bing, which is a version MS makes available cheaply for low-cost computers. It's identical in functionality to a standard PC version of Windows 8.1, and can run any program a desktop PC could run, baring other limitations (like the 1 GB RAM on this tablet).

I can't say how long exactly the deal has been live, I know it has been offered before with different incentives. I believe the last time it was skype related bonus, but this time it's a windows store gift card. Windows store gift cards can be used for xbox says the description, and a rep also pointed out ;

"Gift cards and store credit cannot be used in a Microsoft online-retail store. You may use them to purchase apps, games, music, and content from the Windows App Store, your Windows 8 phone or on your Xbox console via the Xbox Live Marketplace.. - Bianca M."

So since alot of calculators can run Tetris, we should all post deals to TI-81 Graphing Calculators in the Video Game Deals forum?
See above, gift card can be used on xbox. Tablet running windows 8.1 that plays windows 8.1 games playable on windows 8.1 devices, sold by windows store. Game related, problem solved.

I am debating on getting this as a gift for someone and for myself, but that 1gb ram is bothering me.

No, it's full Windows 8.1, albeit don't expect to do just a whole lot with 1GB RAM and ~13GB after the installation.

Can't remember if it's got a microSD slot or not either
It does not have a MicroSD. It only has a MicroUSB and a headphone jack. The headphone jack is one of the worst I have ever seen. It makes a loud buzzing noise when in use. It seems to be a really common problem in almost all of the units. I have one of these. If anyone has any questions, I can happily answer them.

According to Microsoft's store site it says MicroSD.

It's behind the back.

I'm still thinking about it. I won't be using it for gaming or video often at all, but still don't like anything running under 2gb ram. I want it though cause it's suppose to be the cheapest name brand on the market from what I heard at normal retail $99 even. It has otg, so I could buy the otg cable and I can connect my thermal printer. Think im just gonna wait on it for a few days and see if its still on sale.

I picked up one of these a few weeks ago and I can say it's a pretty capable little tablet.  I say little because it's definitely on the small side, but it will pull of most of what you would expect pretty well.  With the $25 credit and a year of Office personal it's an amazing deal.  I can confirm that it has an SD slot if you need to add storage.  The biggest complaints I have are the back has a little too much give and makes me feel like I'm going to break it, and the other is the 1gb of memory, it's a little too light so when you open a few apps at once it chugs while swapping out memory.

This promo has been running for months, don't worry it'll still be on sale

Heck, $25 MS cash + $25 1yr office extension (avg ebay price), makes this a $29 tablet to use as smartglass for X1 or minor email/media use.   Cant beat that.  Thanks OP!  :D/

Tempted on getting this in order to play some of the Win 8 games with achievements on a touch screen.  Not sure it is something I need to be buying at this point though especially since I have a tablet.  The $25 credit and Office subscription is enticing though.

One question about the Office 365 license does that allow you to use Office on multiple devices once you sign in with your MSID?

This has been this price with incentives for a long time.  I bought and returned it about a month ago for this exact price.

If you can, buy a Winbook 802.  You get an inch of extra screen, an extra gb of ram, a full sized usb port, and a micro HDMI.

The 1GB of ram is crippling to this device.  After updates, you'll have to make your paging file much bigger.  Realistically, you will have no room left on storage and will be using the MicroSD.

I returned this and bought a Winbook 802, which is greatly superior.  You can play older steam games (original xbox era, like Republic Commando, Kotor) and newer indie games (Battleblock Theater, Castle Crashers).  The 802 has a full sized USB so it works great with controllers.

The 802 is in store pick up only at Microcenter right now, but I was able to order and ship one to Hawaii a few weeks ago.

Don't buy the Stream, it's hot garbage and useless.  HOWEVER, it is very inexpensive.  The $25 windows store code is good for XBL credit.  You can also sell the Windows Office code for $20 or so.

Also... not a gaming deal ;)

Is that and ebay the only place to buy one?

It has OTG, but does not support charging+usb devices at the same time. Huge deal breaker. I had one of these and returned it within a week. Don't waste any money.

What is Office 365 exactly? Is it like an online or browser based version of Office? I need Office on my personal MacBook for work projects. Would Office 365 be the kind of product I need?

It's the yearly subscription version of office instead of the lifetime license.

Personal 365 works for one tablet and one computer.

Just bought one, and when I added it to my cart, it popped up a "special offer for a limited number of customers" that discounted the price by $35 from the normal price of $99, so I got mine for $64 plus tax. I don't know why I got the offer, since it didn't elaborate, but I figured I'd give people a heads up if they're on the fence.

On eBay or MS?

So since alot of calculators can run Tetris, we should all post deals to TI-81 Graphing Calculators in the Video Game Deals forum?
Awesome! I didn't know about this! You should really start a thread about TI-81 Graphing Calculator deals! I can't wait to have another gaming platform.

I got in on this deal roughly a month ago.  I don't think you can sale the Office 365 year coupon.  The way it worked on mine was it had some pre-installed office tile that started the process to redeem the year of Office.  And it definitely has microSD incase anyone is wondering.

I liked the device but have a Surface Pro 3 so it really doesn't get used much.

Yes you can. I sold my code. There is a thread on slick deals. That pre-installed thing is a html shortcut with your code in the title.
