Xbox 360 500GB COD Bundle $179 at Sam's Club

Is this still the best deal for a new 500 GB 360 if I'm never going to play those games?  Looks like it, but just checking before I head over there to pick one up.

I think so.

This retails for $250 so it is a great deal.

I had one a few months ago.

Includes digital code for Black Ops 2 and hard copy of Ghosts.

I needed the S model for digital out so I had to return.

It's a great deal based on what Microsoft is still MSRP'ing this bundle at. But really, if you want a new 360, can you not wait another year? There was just another thread recently talking about how 6th gen prices didn't really start plummeting until 30 months after the release of 7th gen. As much as I want a new 360 to last until the end of time, I know I should wait until 2016.

A few months back, Target was clearing out these bundles for $125. I bought one just to replace my 4 gb 360, but since Microsoft made the 360 compatible with external drives up to 2 tb with the last system update, you don't necessarily need to buy a 500 gb system. That said, if you don't have a 360 at all, I would recommend the COD bundle since it's the most recent version of the hardware. It's also extremely quiet compared to the other versions of the hardware that I've owned.

I have one sitting as a backup, bought it from Target at that price too. It was too good to pass up.

Got one as well and used a red card and team member discount to get it for $112 after tax. It's still unopened, but I have a bunch of 360 games from games with gold that I'm hoping to play one day.

I don't care what anybody says - the 360 is still a darned good value because of the vastness and variety of its library. The question about this deal isn't whether or not the buyer would get a lot of value out of the money spent but whether or not you could get a cheaper used 360. You could, but I still prefer a minty fresh new console under warranty and untouched by human hands.

Once you factor in subscription fees its not really a deal. They act like they discount it a great saving compared to retail competitors but those competitors don't have annual subscription charges.

Last time I was a member I shopped there for a netbook on sale for black Friday and only shopped there once after that.

IMO unless someone is really scrapped for cash and literally can't afford next gen or a PC, just about any computer at this point runs the same games miles better than 360 - and there is a ridiculous amount of multi-platform titles between consoles and PC. Throw in a few "remasters" for this gen, and the last gen consoles are getting close to worthless. Not completely worthless as there are still some games unique to the respective platforms, but getting close. 360 probably has been raided by PC most of any platform.

Of course this new gen is looking even worse at this point, since so many of the games are actually remasters of last gen games. But you at least might as well buy the new consoles or even a low end PC to enjoy much better versions.

Does Walmart price match Sam's Club? I've been wanting the blue Xbox 360 from Walmart but it hasn't been on sale since December.

I think they actually have specific wording about not to retailers with member fees. Even though it's the same company.

Besides, Walmart has gotten really stingy about price match. I tried matching to amazon for Vaults CD pages (storage) and was told no. It must have been recent because the one employee was asking the other because apparently there's some kind of rules about it they didn't say. Seems to be up to each manager or whatever.

Only other time I tried to price match was a Nintendo price drop that every retailer including Walmart.com had but in store the guy looked off in the distance and spouted off something about online only. Not bothering to look it up.

When I didn't just give up he told me about how he was about to get off work. Like I'm supposed to care if you don't care about your job somewhere else.

By far, Walmart is the most difficult place to price match. Once I brought in a print ad from Best Buy and took three employees before they decided to accept the price match. Now, I will head to Target long before I bother with Walmart.

Yeah it's difficult to bite on this considering it's last gen. I have a couple of 360's sitting around I picked up for less than $20 at flea markets and garage sales.

Good deal for playing lots of older hidden gems and XBLA.

Every time a Sam's deal pops up, I just smile because even if I don't want it, I know I can freely go into Sam's with a membership work gives me for free. And I don't work for a company even close to Sam's Club
