I'm surprised such a thread doesn't exist yet in the subforum.

How will the Amiibo work:

Here's the "controversy" regarding this game: http://kotaku.com/why-some-people-are-calling-fire-emblem-fates-homophobi-1715602826

Here's Nintendo of America's limp response: http://kotaku.com/nintendo-removes-controversial-scene-from-english-versi-1754349779

Eh, Nintendo is always a stickler for "avoiding" controversy if you paid attention to history.

Anyhoo, I'm excited enough about the game, since I'm always up for some Fire Emblem. I'm still irked about the lack of FE4 and FE5.

I too have been waiting for this game since it's been announced. I am a sucker for CIV games and can't believe I slept on this series until Awakening. I rarely play games a second time due to my schedule but I played this game through 4 times. I preordered the special edition and truthfully would have paid anything for all 3 chapters. They can have my money! Perma-death here I come!

Anxiously waiting for my CE
I didn't realize how awesome the damn thing was until all these unboxing videos released. More than anything - I can't believe they're putting 2 games in one cartridge. That alone will be rare!

Just imagine if the next Pokemon release did the same thing. People would go nuts over it!

Isn't it 3 games? Revelation will there as well, right?

How different are the 3 versions of the game?  I'm not sure if a different story is worth it to play different sides of the same map if its like that.

I'm hoping it will be like Shining Force III. In that epic game, you played one faction for one disc, played the second faction on another disc, which you ran across in disc one, and in disc three you all came together to defeat the big, bad evil. It's a shame Scenario 2 and 3 never got released state side.

I love Fire Emblem. It's the successor to the Shining Force series. I had a few questions though. Since I was too late to preorder the deluxe game (because almost two months ahead of release date is too late), if I buy one copy, do I just download the other two as DLC? Or do I just buy a copy of the other game? I'm not entirely sure how this is going to work since after Googling it, I've not found details. I wanted to get both scenarios but there's a third, I think? I just don't want to miss out on something.

if you buy birthright you can then BUY conquest as a DLC and it would load into the 3ds. The 3rd game ( Revelation )does not come out until march unless you get the 3 in one package. and then there is the MAP 1 pack what i think is another thing all together?

so if you went brith you would do

Thanks. That does clear things up. Although, I did have one more question. Do I have to buy Birthright first or can I get Conquest first or does it not matter? I'm more interested in Conquest since I hear it's more in line with the older FE games. I enjoyed Awakening but it was entirely too easy. I don't think there was a single Fog of War battle if I recall correctly.

It doesn't matter whether you get Conquest or Birthright first. In order of difficulty it's:

Conquest (Supposed to be harder than Awakening) > Revelations > Birthright (Easiest)

While it's more difficult than Awakening, I don't believe it's as difficult as many of the earlier games. The official site also explains everything pretty easily with regards to DLC and purchasing it. Each side has their own classes and the Revelations DLC will be able to recruit all classes.

At the end of this video Nintendo announced they were giving away 6 copies of the CE.  Not sure if they've done it yet, but it may be worth a shot if you're still trying to get the game.

My GameStop accidentally gave out all of the pre-order keychains to anyone who came in and bought a copy yesterday. When I picked up my Collector's Edition pre-order today, I got a smile and an apology.

That sucks. :\ Pre orders should gotten the key chains first and then if any extra sure give people getting the game one too.

Maybe go to another GS maybe they'll have extras?

Some people are selling the GS keychains.. also selling some different ones too.

Where do you get your half-price game code when you buy one physical copy at BB? My receipt says it's part of a bundle (and I bought it on Friday), but I don't see the code.

Was it emailed?

To get the map pack or pre order revelations you have to go to the game pre order computer that is in the game area? I haven't been to a lot of best buys so not sure if they all have a touch display screen thing in the game area.

You just search for fire emblem click the map pack or revelation print the ticket take it to register to buy with the game.

If the store doesn't have it I'm sure employee might be able to print it out or something. The code will be emailed to you. coarse revelations not out yet so it'll be emailed on March 10th.

The map pack was in my email when I got home.

Should be able to bring you receipt of your FE purchase and see if they can add the deal to it or something?

Also anyone waiting for FE to come from shipping check this link out you can plan what your male or female character will look like.

Have any of you guys used the FE amiibo yet? I was wondering what it does.
First time you use them. It gives you a choice of two accessories. Second time you use them it gives you an accessory but you don't get to choose. Third time you use them, a hero battle will appear on the map and you can fight them to recruit them. The units, especially Ike and Robin are holding their own throughout my lunatic play-through on birthright, but I probably won't be using amiibo units as much in the future once I figure out what the best pairs for children are.

I finished Revelations this weekend so I've now completed all 3 stories. Nohr was easily the hardest but I found Revelation to be easier than Birthright.

For anyone wondering. It really is 3 full games and not just expensive DLC. If anything, Nohr is the game that lacks the most content as you're not allowed to play infinite stages without buying DLC.

About how many hours do you clock in for all 3 games? I haven't got the chance to play it yet but I completed Awakening about 3 times already.

I'll check for chance I get. My Revelation time is going to be altered as its my "canon" file so I've spent more time building relationships and whatnot on that file whereas I was just powering through the Hoshido/Nohr campaigns for the story and not much else.

On both my birthright and conquest files I have logged between 20-25 hours to complete them, but soft resets go unrecorded (I'm one of those people that won't let my units die as I played on lunatic classic for both files.) I would say the birthright number is pretty accurate, but I would say my conquest file would be closer to 35-40 hours in realty including my wasted time from restarting. I have officially logged 35 hours in revelations so far, but I am trying to do absolutely everything. I still have 4 paralogues left for children and am only chapter 23 of the main story (again on lunatic classic). In regard to awakening I have put something like 150-170 hours into that game. Hopefully that gives you some idea of where you will be at.

So I'm playing Birthright:

I have Corrin at max Nohr Prince level and I'm at Chapter 15 or so in the story. I have the map pass and have completed the Awakening level so I have the item to turn a male unit into the Lodestar. Should I do that or just upgrade Corrin to the normal Hoshidan Noble class? Thanks in advance.

I just checked. Not including wasted time for resets:

Birthright-34:17
Conquest-44:51
Revelations-69:12

Like I said, Revelations is the file that I'm putting actual time in with grinding and marriages and whatnot while the other 2 files were strictly story playthroughs.

I definitely plan on playing Conquest in Casual mode. Otherwise I'll be resetting that thing left and right! Currently going through Birthright, and taking my damn time with it :)

OK, I just finished Conquest and had a few more questions for those of you that have beaten all three games or have them all. Now, I was thinking of buying Birthright cartridge. Would my save carry over from Conquest or will it just start from scratch? If it starts from scratch, am I better of buying the DLC that should incorporate my save already? And I assume that Revelations takes place after. Is it better just to play Birthright first then do Revelations? I'm not sure what impact that'll have on my save/story.

Also, screw Conquest on hard. I don't even want to know how many hours I spent on Level 20 before saying screw it and playing on Normal. Oh, I hate those winds.

Get the DLC version. You can get the digital versions of Birthright AND Revelations for the price of a physical copy of Birthright.

Your Conquest save will have no effect on your Birthright or Revelations playthroughs. You'll be able to start at Chapter 6 as opposed to Chapter 1 by selecting Branch of Fate from the menu if you go digital (you'll still be able to change the look of your character before you start).

Play Birthright before Revelations if you intend to play all 3.

I don't know if anybody's still playing through, but if you want to share skills, just invade my castle. I left the throne open, so all you have to do is walk over and seize it. The address is: 13057-86977-81060-34091.
