Resident Evil Revelations 2 - $19.99 at Best Buy

This game can be bought at Redbox for 6.99.

They aren't too difficult to find (compared to other titles like Minecraft). I was able to find two different copies of it (which I promptly bough and flipped at GS).

That's if you don't mind not having a case.

Tempted ... I liked the first one on my 360 -- though then again, never finished it.

I heard this game has a terrible ending ... true?

On the Redbox site, how can you tell if u you can purchase?
I actually googled how to buy games at redbox and it showed 3 locations around where i live that sold games.Luckily i found one that said it sold resident evil r 2 but when i got there i could not figure out how to buy so i left.

Edit :this redbox was inside walmart and on the redbox.com website it said it sold games.

Look online, search location of game, but it says hold for pickup.

I don't remember, sorry. Before you get to the screen to pick a game, you have to choose buy.

It's not like renting where you enter the renting screen to choose a game. For some reason I thought it would give me the choice to buy the game during checkout, I accidently rented a game. Just giving you a heads up so you don't make the same mistake

i have both systems but i think i read somewhere that the xbox one version plays a little better than the ps4 (eurogamer)

Sweet, I almost got this yesterday at 21.99 at BB after all the discounts, but got Saints Row 4 instead at 15.99. Rebought today after the price drop, and seems like I'm going back to BB tomorrow!

Redboxes that sell games are the ones on places where the establishment doesn't sell games themselves. Places like gas station convenience stores, CVS/Walgreen's pharmacy places, grocery stores (those are great caches).Places like Walmart and other department stores don't sell games from the Redboxes kiosk because it is direct competition.

Unfortunately you don't know what selection they have until you check.

To actually buy the games go to the games section and there will be a filter for "for sale". Click on the game and add to cart.

I ended up checking out the Redbox at my local supermarket. Found RE Rev 2 for X1 and grabbed it. Anyone have a link to a list of the games on sale and their prices?

I bought 2 copies of State of decay for $8.99 each at Redboxes.

I'm starting to feel like a Redbox evangelist...
$8.99 you say? Im on my way and hopefully they have it for sale and this redbox is outside cvs.....fingers crossed everyone

Edit:eek:k that's weird so i goto a kiosk and it says "this kiosk sells pre owned games"so im like hell yea but when i click on state of decay and RE revelations 2 i get no prompt to buy game only rent.i give up trying to buy these games at redbox.

Each redbox I went to (gas stations) all said they had state of decay but couldn't find it for rent or sale. I used to see them back when the sales started but I guess they're gone now

I think its only limited to some redbox locations. Had the same thing and looked on the screen . Rent only.

The general rule is that 3rd party games perform better on the PS4, however, this game and DMC Definitive Edition have been among the very few exceptions to this rule.

This likely has something to do with the fact that last gen, the 360 was the general outperformer for 3rd party software. Capcom's team probably was just more comfortable working on that system, and many dev tools, such as MT Framework and Unreal, which were used to make RE-REV2, and DMC: Definitive Ed., respectively, also tended to work better on the 360.

Remnants of the last gen. PS4 is now the optimal platform for 3rd party games, and that's likely to stay that way - at least for this generation's cycle. I admit it is one of the key reasons I went with a PS4 this go-around. Still love my 360, though.

Notice the xbox one when put disc in, have to install? Does ps4 do the same?

Thats the one thing I didnt like from the last gen. The PS3 install and load times. With the 360, just put disc in and play. Wonder why it backwards in this gen over the xbox one and ps4?

If you mean sales-wise it's just cost. When the consoles are SO similar (as they've been the last 2 generations) the winner is always the one that has the lower price at launch. Lower price at launch means a larger install base. Larger install base means more confidence from future consumers. This reaction is nearly impossible to break.

The two consoles are nearly identical (just like they were last gen) just get the one you like better. I prefer the xbox controller so I got the xbox. Most of my friends prefer the playstation layout, so they got the playstation.

What about a outside CVS? Is there any way to know which locations?
I'm determined that Walmart Redbox kiosks simply don't sell games, only because they sell games themselves.

Other then that, this is one game I couldn't find at any redbox in my area. Not even for rent.

Would be nice if Redbox had a way of sending you the original case and artwork, even if it was an additional fee. I didn't even remember having Battlefield Hardline on PS3 because of it being in a redbox case. Not that you can't find original cases/artwork on ebay or other ways.

I think both consoles still have some install times when you load up a disc - though that depends on the game you're playing. Some games load right up. One thing I do miss from the 360 on the PS4 is the 360's ability to copy and install the game to speed up load times. The PS3 and now the PS4 don't offer that option. It's not a big deal, since I think developers are now installing necessary files on each system to create parity on that front.

Microsoft definitely has a nice console in Xbone; it just hit the wrong notes at launch and it's lost a lot of positive mindshare for those missteps. Some of that loss is unfair, but the damage is already done. While I think MS will close some of the gap, there's no way the Xbone is going to come close to overtaking the PS4's install base this generation, so all 3rd party games are going to be built up on PS4 first and ported to Xbone. As we saw last gen with the 360, that means 3rd party games will always be a little smoother and a little cleaner on PS4.

Like I said, to me, that matters. The exclusives, of course, factor in, too, but usually this too tends to follow the install base leader.

I do like the Xbox controller, and I was worried that PS4's controller would be uncomfortable. Surprisingly, I am pleased with Sony's changes to the controller. Sized up against my PS3 controller, the PS4 one is larger and interestingly more Xbox-like.

The PS4's game releases last year were lackluster, though. Played my 360 far more than I did the PS4. I expect Sony to pick up the steam in 2016.

And back on topic, I've noticed this game and DMC-Def. Edition are hard to find. Capcom probably won't reprint these, so I'm starting to think I should pick up RE-REV2. I never picked up DMC-Def. Ed., but that's because I have that on my 360, and I'm not inclined to think 30 fps to 60 fps is worth the double-dip. Not to mention I heard Capcom made some edits to the Def. ed. that seemed to be based on making it politically correct.

Punisher was just asking about mandatory installs and wasn't talking about sales or system comparison. PS4 has mandatory installs too, but they're a bit quicker than on Xbox One. I agree that I miss the whole plug and play aspect of older consoles like X360.

Yeah. Wasnt talking about sales. Was saying that the PS3 had long install times vs the xbox 360 when u just pop the disk in and get to play.

Sounds like its flip around this time around. Now xbox one has this long install time. Cant say about ps4 because I dont have it, but sounds like they improved it. The reason got xbox due to controller (like the 360 over ps3 controller. Like the OG xbox and ps1/2. Felt so tiny in hand and love the xbox big controller back in the day) Would like to see backward console to let people play old gen games, but looks like they like the milk as much money possible.

Also, got a Wii U and not sure about it yet. Some cool stuff, but not liking the control pad. Gotta keep that thing plug in? Yeah, the ps4.xbox one has better, etc. ,but still like Nintendo because they always try to do something different. Wish they bring back R.O.B. Wonder if the NX will use carts?

Both PS4 and Xbox One install the entire disc onto the hard drive. Both can do this in the background while you play something else, unlike last gen where both made you wait on the install screen. 360 however was optional install though. I didn't buy system based on controller. I bought them based on the type of games they have. Last gen, the 360 clearly had better software and online network, especially the first half of the decade of its life. Then the PS3 software line up closed in. This gen, both are essentially the same. However, if you like Japanese niche games, the only home console to play them is the PS4, and occasionally PC. Microsoft pulled out completely from Japan this time and in return, Japan ditched them. I have always purchased Microsoft consoles first in the past because of their software line up and their willingness to pull Japanese developers in. Not this time. I bought the PS4 nearly two years ago and just recently bought the XBO only because it was cheap during the holidays to play just a handful of exclusive games on it, and maybe a small few that perform better than the PS4. Yes, I value Japanese games more than western games. You know, the ones with cool looking dudes holding swords or chicks with skimpy outfits on the game covers vs muscular hairy males holding guns. xD

For the controllers, IMO the 360 pad was the best and it's a hair better than the XBO and PS4 controllers in terms of overall ergonomics. Besides the D-Pad, it's essentially perfect, a very durable controller with no bells and whistles and natively works on PC. As for the OG Xbox controller, I didn't like the super sized launch pads. The later revised Controller S was great, but the 360 pad also destroyed it. One feature I did like on the OG Xbox and PS2 controllers was the pressure sensitive buttons. That was removed and never came back in later gens.

The Wii U, I have that too and it has its exclusive games. I have about 10 games on it and they are all very good, but it's nearing its end and I only see a couple more games that I might buy for it. The funny part is, I probably will end up with more Wii U games than Xbox One games in the end of both systems' life.

So ... I got this game to play over the weekend.

$15 (via GCU) seems to be the right price for this game so far. I've played two chapters so far. Much of chapter 2 was unsurprisingly recycled from the previous chapter.

It's not RE4 or RE5 by any measure or anywhere close.
