New PlayStation Vita Aqua Blue system (GameStop Exclusive) $170 + tax

Was planning on swapping to a blue one, but then I heard Sony patented a possible new Vita model, so i'll likely wait and see what develops from that.

Link?

I would love that to be true.

But blue is so awesome. Especially when you get it pre owned at GameStop and use $50 worth of pre owned coupons!

why do i want this? ive had 2 vitas and end up getting rid of them because i never play them. then i convince myself "this time" will be different. even my vita tv sits unused.

If they don't ultimately lower the overall price of the system (including allowing the use of standard memory cards), I don't see a purpose in this. I mean, sure, being able to stream games and play them better from your PS4 would be great, but at the same time, there's no real reason to buy this specifically for that purpose. They need to make people want it for the purpose of playing Vita games, AND streaming PS4 games.

Hell, I say remove features that are commonly used by vita games (making some unplayable, sure, I'd be okay with that), such as the rear touch, and extra camera along with integrating a standard memory card system, and I'd easily pick up a new Vita. Honestly, it was a very lame move to use proprietary memory cards in the first place, I still don't have higher than a 4 gig, and it's really annoying when I want to play other games, seeing as I usually can only have 1 full digital game at a time.

My first and only Vita is the Aquablue one, which I brought at this price last Black Friday Pre sale at GS. Seems to always hover around this price, so if you don't get it this time, they'll probably be $170 again in a few months.

Honestly, from what I've seen, both Black and Blue colors just look stunning, like one of the best looking game consoles ever made.

Black is like:

Blue is like:

But both Noires are absolutely perfect, so either one is great!

I bought my Aqua Blue for $170 on Black Friday. A few weeks later in mid-December, it was on sale for $170 again.

I wanted a blue Vita for not only the color, but also the MATTE front finish. Buying the aqua blue from GameStop was a lot cheaper than importing from Japan.

Those clickable analogs sound good, but they seem only useful for Remote Play, which is great right now, especially if you get the L2/R2 trigger grip. I don't see the current 150+ Vita games needing that clickable-analog model.

My 64gb Vita card is probably my favorite purchase from Amazon over the past year. If you play your Vita it's definitely worth it. I have over 30 game installed and still have some room. I don't see Sony making another portable but they have done crazier things in the past. If they did release a new one, it'd be a day one purchase.

The psp was supposed to be console quality games on a portable. With the Vita is was more about the gimmicks. It was like they wanted the mobile market, hell the 1000 model even had 3g. If they released a portable console that could play ps3 quality games, it's be pretty impressive. Think about the library of games it could have.

Want to pull the trigger so I can add this system to my console color collection but my thought is it'll be down to $150 in two months.

Hmm, never heard of a PS Vita 3000 until now. I'm assuming it'll be sold in limited editions out West as Vita games are rarely found here. I'm in for my 3rd Vita console, and this time it'll be a coloured one :). Hope Sony makes it easier to use SD cards. Need a 256GB memory card ideally or at least 128

Traded in my OLED for the blue during Black Friday. Really a well made and beautiful Vita.
The OLED's screen looks great indoors, especially in a darkened room, but take that sucker outdoor and prepare to do battle with screen glare. I often play Spelunky in my car during lunch breaks, and I can't say how many times I've had to change parking spaces just so I can see what I'm doing. Is the LCD any better outdoors?

LCD is much better outdoors than the OLED. At least as good as a 3DS IPS screen outdoors.

There won't be a new Vita. A patent published now was filed awhile ago and isn't indicative of a current business plan.
