can't speak for the console versions but I love the PC version. Game is super fun plus it gets new content pretty frequently. I thought most of that content was brought to consoles but it took longer? Maybe I'm wrong though

Yep, wrong. There's no content releases for consoles and rarely patches. It is no where near the quality of the PC version.

Matchmaking on X1 wasn't even working at all at launch but I do think they've since fixed that but as far as I remember that's the only patch they've released.

Overkill even released a video apologizing for the problems on consoles and vowed to do better which they kind of have failed to do.
 
I figured it wasn't worth mentioning this game when I mentioned Mortal Kombat X being $11.99 in the Microsoft store thread.

I think I will get the PC version instead. right now Payday 2: GOTY edition is $12.49 at steam

That's a shame. PC version is really really solid. I've already got 400+ hours in it and I'm sure I'll add many more. For anyone considering (again can't speak for console) but PC is really really fun and still is surprisingly active. New content gets released pretty much monthly and everything Payday 2 is on sale for 75% off right now on Steam so it's definitely worth picking up. Payday The Heist is on sale for only $1.50 and in my opinion is even better than Payday 2 in many ways.

I guess it really depends on how big their pockets are or how little they will spend. I was honestly shocked when I saw NBA2k on PS+ considering It's a top 10 seller monthly in NPD. Payday would probably cost them very little if the developer agreed to it.
