As someone who has done long streaks, owning a windows phone is a blessing if you have one. Miss a day? Roll your phone back a day and unlock an achievement on it. Saved me many times.

Not only that, achievements unlocked offline, for whatever reason you may have, when you get online, will be registered with a timestamp, unlike Xbox 360.

There are two sets of leaderboard; trackable and other.  Some other leaderboard include number of posts and solutions. When it isn't trackable you can't set it to show on you homepage or whatever they call your feed and you can't get updates when you hit top 10, 100, etc.

Oh. Never noticed that. I use them for my stats because they are easier than most sites since I don't have to manually update my achievements. I never noticed the lack of cards or the like.

Is it able to be done solo? I wanted to like the Division, but I'm a solo player. I don't love groups and it seemed a wee bit on the irritating side solo.

Darksiders 1 was terrific, albeit a bit Zelda-y. I'm wondering when they will ever put it on sale.

No joke. $60 for friggin' Bulletstorm when it couldn't sell at that price years ago? It'd be a no-brainer at $20-25. $60? Hell, Bulletstorm was one of my 10 favorite games last gen and there is, literally, zero chance I buy it at that price.

Agreed.  Depending on how much remastering occurred, I could see it at $30 or $40, but not $60 and I also really liked Bulletstorm.

Didn't think it being Zelda-y was necessarily bad --- but it was REALLY Zelda-y. I thought it was much better than the sequel, mind you. Darksiders 1 was a surprisingly fun game.

I'm still baffled by all this non sense when they could have had a 5+ million seller in Borderlands 3 already.

To be fair, I'm sure the majority of Gearbox is working on Borderlands 3, but probably only have been since Battleborn's release so we've got at least a year or two. I really doubt any of the recent projects had much internal manpower at Gearbox on them. A small team working on Battleborn DLC (and maybe F2P conversion), another small team for the Duke Nukem 3D port, and they're only publishing Bulletstorm.

 

This whole Bulletstorm thing just is a mystery to me. The absolute highest I could see it going for is $40, and realistically it should be between $20-30. The game is decent, but the only reason it even sold as well as it did on 360 was the inclusion of the Gears of War 3 beta. Being 5 or so years old, with the included DLC being maps for a multiplayer mode that gets old in a week, should have given them a hint as to realistic expectations for and HD versions possible level of success. The thing that is most insulting to me is the one actual new piece of content, the Duke Nukem mode, is a fucking pre-order bonus. I feel like this was mainly done to get a $5 purchase on used or GWG/PS+ copies in the future.

Overall, I think it's another Gearbox scam to screw People Can Fly out of money in some way, like Sega and Aliens: Colonial Marines. Maybe they amount of publishers they've burned lead to them being publishers themselves to change gears.

I saw this the other day and thought it was a pretty accurate assessment. Arstechnica put Gearbox on their deathwatch list of doomed companies for the year. I don't think they're really in danger of major disaster unless Borderlands 3 flops, though I'm a bit surprised we haven't heard any layoffs or anything with as hard as Battleborn flopped.

This privately held game studio has been part of the 2K Games publishing family since 2009, with the launch of the incredibly successful Borderlands franchise. 2K put a lot of weight behind the launch of Gearbox’s big 2016 game, Battleborn, but the publisher will probably best remember Battleborn as a giant tax write-off. 2K needed a successful shooter after its major 2015 shooter, Turtle Rock’s Evolve, tanked hugely. But Battleborn may have actually done worse than Evolve, especially since it launched in the giant shadow of a similar and far superior team shooting game.

Given the flat-lined response to Battleborn, Gearbox needed a good product to follow it up. Instead, the company pushed out two lackluster remasters. The first, a 20th anniversary edition of Duke Nukem 3D, may not have cracked the 50,000 unit-sales mark since launching in October on consoles and PC (this conservative estimate relies on a SteamSpy estimate of 10,000 sales on PC, so its total sales could be even lower). That will be followed in January with a remaster of the 2011 shooter Bulletstorm—to be sold at a crazy-high price point of $60 with very little in the way of new content.

Unless Gearbox knows something that I don’t about this pricing strategy, I expect anemic Bulletstorm sales to force some tough decisions at Gearbox HQ. These will rattle the company through the rest of 2017, especially if 2K Games decides to cut its losses in terms of its Gearbox publishing arrangement.

Shadow Warrior is awesome, got it on launch for pc, it can now be had for $4 there. Weird that it hasn't been on sale for Xbox. Sequel not as fun due to the borderlands-style loot drops, I'm holding out for a big sale since they dropped the ball so hard.

Do not give up. Once I platinumed/100%ed MWR, I felt so damn good and relieved. That part of the mission is an absolute B... and I can't say it will get any easier (Heat and No Fighting in the War Room gave me nightmares) but keep at it.

Totally different games. Civ Rev is a grand game of world conquest. Tropico games are about running an island as a power mad dictator.

That's the point. Do we see Bing/MS rewards on the other platforms? My Nintendo is a joke now compared to Club Nintendo....and what does Sony have to offer? Nada. So the fact we're getting deals on last gen games in the new gen, is great. But to expect X1 levels is buffoonery. Time passes and everyone moves on to the next gen.

Just pointing out that the days of 80% off which I/fellow longtime CAGs experienced during the heyday of the 360, are long gone. The system's time as top dog....has passed. Same as 2600, NES, Genesis, PS2, have passed. Exceptional deals are no more digitally no less, on previous gens. That's all I hope we get awesome deals next week digital on X1

Okay, so after remaining unsuccessful in locating my original 360 headsets, I've finally decided to cave and get the Polk Melees.

 

Couple of questions:

 

1) Do I have to buy them from Polk Media directly (a la official seller on Amazon) or can I buy them New from a reliable seller on eBay?

2) How hard are they to set up with a 360 given they seemingly rely on the audio jack on the 360 itself rather than the controller? Is the headset wired straight to the box?

3) Do the different coloured models have design differences or are the differences purely cosmetic?

4) How hard is it to get the adapter and boom mic from Polk's CS? How do they verify it was bought new?

5) Are people still enjoying their headsets (comfy, working right, etc) or should I just shell a bit more for Turtle Beaches or something?

Terrible?  I thought it was pretty ok as an economy/trading sim with some piracy and story achievements thrown in.  I got side-tracked and never finished it, but was into it enough at one point to write a small program to calculate optimum trading routes.  The graphics and sound won't pull you in though... if the idea of buy low/sell high different crops in different ports doesn't appeal to you, then steer clear.

Ouch, it's a trap! I would buy loot boxes if the duplicates sold for the cost of the item you unlocked.

I feel you Dustinator and I'm also one that says Nintendo never has deals like the other two. Thus my backlog on their systems is quite small.. Hmm, dilemma...

I also only digital with Nintendo exclusives, cuts down on al the physical copies and their games are way smaller too. It takes forever to download shit of Xbox Live. Bloomy does have a point though, that shit never really good below $20. Getting Super Mario Galaxy 2 for $10 BF was like the cloud opening up and a ready of sunshine reaching out lol. (Also as bit drinky)
