Nintendo Power Archive (Free)

That's amazing. I got rid of my issues about 15 years ago. Those were from its inception. Was thinking about reading through the rest here, but who has time for that with our CAG backlogs?

I just spent the past 15 minutes reading through the Final Fantasy strategy guide issue and reveling in nostalgia from 25 years ago....good way to spend the morning.  Now I've got to search through to find that Tetris GameBoy score I got published, haha.

Now we just need someone to do this for EGM. I'm really bummed that I got rid of all my issues from the 16-bit era. Typically I'm pretty empty inside but those old game magazines almost make me feel something akin to nostalgia and genuine human emotion.

This is wonderful. Thank you fro this.

Is there a way to quickly download all of them? Or do you have to go through them individually.

This is pretty awesome when I get time I might browse through some. I have all of them most in mint condition & this is far easier to look at without worrying about bending the originals.

I haven't played around with it too much yet. I'm not sure if you can download all of them in one file for easier access. That would be pretty sweet

Wow, this is pretty cool. I have the remaining issues that aren't uploaded, but no hand scanner. Wondering if I should try scanning the remaining 112 volumes on an AIO printer...

EDIT: Viewing quality is pretty poor for these. They're all small, even on my low resolution screen. =\

Now if only someone would upload all of the "Tips & Tricks Magazine" issues.  Along with Electronic Gaming Monthly and EGM 2 that would be nice.

Edit:  Found some of the issues for "Sega Visions" magazine on that archive site.

Man... brings back memories of trying to memorize things from Metroid when my friends brought their issues to school, or memorizing all of Johnny Cage's moves from EGM and then finally playing at an arcade and losing in like 20 seconds

I'm not entirely sure this is Nintendo authorized, the scans have the Retromags labels at the end and seem to be fan scans. Even so, they were uploaded by one of the admins of archive.org, so... I dunno what's going on here, did Nintendo give the thumbs up for them to just upload the Retromags scans?

Nintendo Power, GamePro, EGM, Game Players Guide (to Nintendo, To Sega & Nintendo)... and many more were staples of my teen years.  It's nice being able to go back and look at some of these as I've sold off most of my magazine collections.

Same, I've been wanting to look through old issues for years.

Seriously thanks OP.

Game Players/Ultra Game Players (same mag, not sure why/when they changed the name) was an awesome  mag too, for two reasons:

1. The Christmas Nights demo (we never had a Saturn, but borrowed a friend's to play it)

2. The discs, wherein I saw my first glimpse of actual video game trailers... before that, it was just magazine pictures. The two most memorable ones were DN Forever (ha..) and FFVII.

GameFAN and the Unofficial PS magazine (the PS1 days, it nose-dived during the PS2 days) were others I loved and would love to re-visit. Sucks that no few of these magazines are archived.

I grew up reading EG (81'-85') cause I'm an old arse. Those are on that site too.

Thanks for the heads up on Nintendo Power, I'll grab some issues. I remember getting my free copy of Dragon Warrior through the magazine back then.

Page 40 in Issue 18 really hit it off....

I remember PSM having little cartoons (and occasional Chun-Li/Lara Croft swimsuit pinups) from Adam Warren before he got into making superhero fetish porn.

Was one of the best. I have kept my issues. Scans of this magazine are still prohibited .
Why is that? Does someone still hold the rights?

PSM's covers by comic book artists were always cool, very unique compared to the stock images most other mags used.

I've got about 600 issues of EGM, Nintendo Power, GamePro, and OPM dating back to 2000 that I've seriously been wanting to sell. Maybe I'll make a trade list and put them all up for sale here, since nobody wants them on ebay.

Wow. I had bunch of old gaming mags. I threw most of them away. Had to move out and didnt want to bring it over.

Magazines like Nintendo Power, EGM, EGM2, GamePro, NEXT generation, Stuff, Maxim, FHM, PSM, OPM, GameFan, PC Gamer, Game Players, Gamers Republic, Tips and Tricks, Computer Gaming, and some stuff I cant remember.

Oh. Expert Gamer, Game Now

I remember getting Nintendo Power as a kid. Used to look forward to it arriving in the mail each month. I think the first issue was free from some post card that came with my NES.

Now You're Playing With Power! :)

About 10 years ago, I moved. Was super rushed and stressed and was in "throw out" mode to make it easier to pick up and move quickly to my new place. My roommate bailed on me and left without notice, which forced my hand to move due to my finances at the time. Back then, I wasn't into collecting games or anything of the like, as WoW was the only game I played (barf). Anyways, I threw out hundreds of gaming mags, EGM, GamePro, and Nintendo Power dating back to the 90s. It haunts me to this very day. I AM A MONSTER.

Love these archives, took about an hour reading through them at work the other day. Though it made me relive my horrid mistake all over again. :wall:

I tried to send you a PM but your inbox is full - maybe you just blocked me? - so if you tried to sell them on eBay, how much was the shipping cost?

Becoming a Latino vampire (any vampire really) will do that to you...

I wonder if there's any chance of them ever uploading Nintendo Power Advance. I had the first issue and it was amazing, but I was never able to track down the other four or so issues.
