So I downloaded Pokemon Picross onto my 3DS just to see what I thought of nonograms, and they’re fun, though like all logic puzzles I don’t really like having a timer imposed on me. Turns out I also had downloaded a nonogram game on my phone (called PictoQuest if anyone cares) at some point when it had gone free, though I hadn’t realized it was nonograms at the time, which I’ve been thoroughly enjoying.
It is sort of surreal playing a well-conceived, well-executed, premium-feeling game with no microtransactions on my phone at the same time that I’m going through a player-unfriendly freemium game, with the same essential gameplay, that won’t stop reminding me I can buy currency to use to advance and refill energy on my 3DS, though.
The timer means nothing in the modern Picross games. The old ones had a hard 1 hour limit, but they're just high scores now.
