God of War Collector's Edition $59.99 / $47.99 with GCU @ Best Buy

I had a hunch these things would sell out quick at this price.

As for Brickseek type inventory check....not sure. If their system says none are in stock around me, I just call the local stores in case there are any in the back that might have been looked over. But that’s extremely YMMV.

If anyone wants this, let me know. I got one but I don't even think I will play it and don't need to spend the money. Just thought it looked cool and was a good deal.

 
I regret ever getting on the hype train for this game and buying Stone Mason's edition. Probably far too late to sell it pre-owned since I never really got into the game and got bored before even remotely finishing.

 
$59.99 plus tax hell noo...I already got the game for $17.00 new....no need for overpriced plastic.

This is for collectors. If you collect Sony exclusives and appreciate this game of the year, it’s worth it. Otherwise just get the game for $20 or if you bought it during Black Friday, then that’s great.
 
Mine is on it's way, but I'm having serious buyers remorse and will likely return it in store. I tried to cancel the order but it was too far along.
 
I bought this for full price when it came out and never regretted it. I think the statue is really well done, looks great on the shelf, and the steelbook is also awesome.

It's right up there with Marcus Fenix from the Gears of War 3 CE for my favorite statue from a CE.

I don't blame you, the statue is great and all but after the game dropped all the way down to 17.00 bucks at most places during and after black Friday, I just couldn't justify the additional expense on something that doesn't add any significant value....maybe if it was $39.99 then the statue would be worth it.

I'm glad I returned mine that I bought for $64.64 after taxes to Gamestop when they had it for $59.99 last month. I am not a big enough fan to own all the stuff in the collectors edition. I just wanted to see if I could profit off of it. I didn't realize that this is the new price of the item.  Congrats to those that waited and actually want this though.

I am the complete opposite. Id rather order something that has been sitting untouched in a warehouse than gamble with the "Spider-web" they wrap their CE's with in store and completely crush the box.

 
ah its only the bottom of the box, unless its meant for reselling or the content inside(like damaged statue etc) its not too bad right?

Absolutely agree!

Granted some carrier services are better than others...but it really all boils down to the individual employees. Especially the ones that handle the trade-offs from pick-up (from distribution centers) and drop-offs (to customer/residential).

But in-store practices?!!!

As others have pointed out, that spider-web security concoction is an atrocity. It damages the product. And doesn't really prevent theft, as these SKU's are never really prone to theft. Mainly due to their size.

I'm about to receive mine tomorrow. I really want to keep it. But if mine arrives with damages due to dumb-ass ideas, due to dumb-ass people, it's going back.

Not sure everyone knows this but at some point (3-4 months after release) the warehouses "wash their hands" of all CEs and just send them to various stores. From then on all stock you buy on the site will come from one. Mine just got 6 of these.

 
Mine arrived, literally stuck the shipping label on the carton. Sitting at my door was a plain as day God of War box, I'm glad I have a screened in entryway because that shit screams "steal me".

That sucks my man. Personally, I'd return that one.

Mine arrived today, and was the complete opposite experience. Mine arrived in a separate box, secured inside with bubble packs. Although the exterior box had a small tear near the opening flap, the interior box was flawless, same with Steelbook, case, statue, extras, etc.

On a side note, I was also able to order a copy of Ni No Kuni II Premium Edition (with Steelbook case) as well for $23.99 after GCU. After hearing the horror stories of the previous sale of this edition, I was happy to see that whoever shipped my copy, put it in a box, also secured with heavy bubble packs. Really happy with Best Buy this holiday season! :)

Thanks op! I ordered on and it came in large outer box with bubble wrap as well. Currently using that box to store a bunch of books.
