Old School CAGs

Scobie

CAGiversary!
Any old school CAGs still around? We're talking GameCube/PS2/Xbox era and on? Ryback? Thorbahn? Javeryh? Mike? Strell? Anybody? Anybody?

Some of those are still around.
WHOA! Good to see you're still around! Still using the old mustache Mario avatar? A 2006 vintage ad.

So Thorbahn is doing the twitter feed? How about Martin from up in the Seattle area? How about Dallow?

I haven't actually logged in in a while myself.  Other than tonight, I think the last time I signed in was, at the very least, a year ago.  Other than the deals threads, the site has died for me.

Checking in!

Havent seen Strell in a bit, havent heard from io (he actually lives a few hrs away from me...) or Casey in a long time.

TaintedZodiac (last I heard he was going to relaunch his trading site but that was a few years ago?)

How about our man in Japan, dv8mad? His blogs used to be a lot of fun.

Also whos been hanging out on slickdeals recently? Hows our old friend IATCG?

Reminiscing... we used to have some pretty good times on here. For me, that ran from the GBA era on through to the XBOX 360 era. Lots of good memories gaming with CAGs and yucking it up on these boards...

I pretty much stopped buying physical games a couple years ago when I ran out of shelf space and time after the third kid. I still pop in from time to time to research deals on things or check for digital download deals or subscriptions. I still listen to the CAGcast every week though.

It's always cool to see other CAGs pop up in other online communities or at conventions.

What's up???  I still pop in here from time to time.  Games have taken a back seat the last few years due to kids and just generally not having as much time to play.  I'm lucky I get about an hour to play right before bed if I'm not too tired...

I did finish RDR2 this year and I'm working on The Witcher 3 and God of War right now.  I finished INSIDE a few weeks ago (loved it) and Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Far Cry 5 maybe last year?  Oh yeah, I played about 30 hours of Assassin's Creed Odyssey and decided I still hate that franchise.  I also play a lot of Hearthstone because I can squeeze in a game in about 10 minutes.  I'm sure there are others.

I've also been building a little arcade cabinet in my spare time just because.

I still listen to the CAGcast every week though - gotta support the gang!

I still pop in to see what's what from time to time. Maybe we should start a game of the month club. It would probably be tricky what with all the different systems and all.

I have passed the torch to my son.  I rarely ever play games, due to other interest, age, lousy marriage and time.  I only have a 360 and have been debating on a Xbox One.  I still get on this site for the Xbox Marketplace sale list on Monday nights (habit?).

GLITTER BOMB and kicking the magazine rack over at GS.  Anyone remember that?

Checking in, been around since 2004 but haven't posted as regularly.  I still use that magazine rack / glitter joke lol.

Whatever happened to that guy that collected dolls?  I looked for the pictures but I think they were all scrubbed.

Well u see I’ve never changed out the Midwest CAG logo that was created so long ago. I’ve been on here off and on for about 15 years. Thanks for all the money y’all have saved me and the fun internet conversations.

I was thinking about that guy that had the blogs who worked in video games. The Grimace? I wonder what happened to him

Been here since September 2003, came here from the magic box I think. I think it was a ps2 deal that brought me here probably

First post in probably 5 years... hey guys.  For some odd reason I thought about the forum tonight and was perusing it when I saw this thread.  I gotta be honest, when I was coming up - I pretty much lived on this site.  This is the only forum I ever used and I was on it constantly.  I was trying to be good and get a real job and not drink so much... so I was settling down and getting into gaming instead of being a hoodlum at the time.

Then I tried to make a music career, met someone, got married, had kids and stopped coming.  Good times though - I miss it.  I haven't been to this site in years, but I still listen to the podcast and send intros for Cheapy to say to Wombat from time to time through twitter.

I think all this covid stuff has me thinking about the past for some reason - so stopped here to see if anyone still did the forum.  Good to see all you guys are doing alright.

A lot of these names are blasts from the past.
Hope everyone is safe and doing well.

Wooooowwwww...... my peacocks are long gone , RIP.
I remember recoloring that peacock logo with blue, orange, and white to match my Halo 2 emblem colors and that's the version that everyone else seemed to use.

Here's a short clip from the time we got the Scorpion Tank up on top of the base in Zanzibar.

Strangely enough I'll be headed to Joliet later this year for work. I'm always open to local restaurant recommendations.

I haven't been in CAG for a long time. Just popped in and saw this thread. *waves hello to everyone*

I remember the daily morning EB thread deals. So yeah.
I think I discovered cheapassgamer through egm or another game magazine. I just started working so had some money and the time for video games. I would hop on to check out the morning threads before going to work.

40 now and I got married this year and expecting first child in May; cleaning out my game room to make it a baby room and selling my 300+ PS2 game collection. I can't remember if I picked up Suikoden V from a black friday at Circuit City but just recently sold that still sealed for $200+. I'm going to miss looking at the shelf and seeing all my games but time to let go and let others take better care of the games.

Yeah I miss EGM. I’ll occasionally scan eBay for back issues but never end up pulling the trigger.
